Nutty Ruddy Old Fashion Ice Cream Truck

I’m in my house cleaning and you can hear the music. It’s the ice cream truck driving thru my street. I try to fight my sweet tooth desire to stop what I’m doing and run after the truck.
I can hear the music fading and I’m almost in the clear. When my middle son runs up to me with the cutest smile and precious moment eyes. He hugs my leg and yells, «ice cream mommy, ice cream boy is visiting me again he wants to share his ice cream!» Argh. I cave and pick him up to run after the ice cream truck.
The truck serves soft serve vanilla ice cream. You can get it in a cup or cone. The truck offers different toppings. Such as chocolate, strawberry, sprinkles, nuts, etc. They also have sundaes, ice cream sandwich, sodas, shakes, and floats.
There is usually a younger boy who is assisting customers. An older man drives the truck. He is usually very pleasant and gives good customer service.
It’s hard to fight your sweet tooth when you give birth to a child who also has a sweet tooth. He knows how to work his mommy. I’m glad this truck only comes around once a week in my neighborhood.

Today our work building had NR’s truck on the premises as a way of showing their tenets appreciation for the 4^th of July holiday – thank you building peeps!
Not only was the soft serve delish, but I was kind of impressed by the quality & the toppings selection (for a mobile creamery)! There’s the option of cone or cup! Toppings include: chocolate/​caramel syrup, oreo cookie bits, nuts, whip cream, a cherry, or rainbow sprinkles! The cones looked pretty interesting & had cute names like «Shaggy Dog» (e.g., topped with whip cream).
Def wayyy better than Mickey D’s!

After reading Marko M.‘s review and contacting him for a contact number (thanks Marko!), I decided to give the Nutty Ruddy a call and was determined to bring him to an event.
He was so polite and nice and asked me to just let him know the date/​time/​location that I wanted him. I hired him to stop by a picnic that I planned for my child’s preschool class. I marked my calendar for the Wed prior to the Friday picnic to call him to confirm. To my surprise Russell called me even before Wed (I think Mon?) to confirm! How’s that for customer service!
Russell showed up on time (actually a bit early) and the children loved that an ice cream truck showed up! Best of all is that with Nutty Ruddy, you can pay according to the menu so each family ordered and paid accordingly. As the organizer, this is a dream come true not having to take orders and collect money up front.
Prices are very reasonable as well and well posted on the outside of his truck.

I know the truck doesn’t come on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I’m going to give a rough estimate based on my experience in the neighborhood.
Days: Wednesday-​Sunday

Mr. Nutty Ruddy — you again came to my friend’s party on a Saturday night to give smiles to everyone! Kids from 2 years old to grandmas in their mid-90’s were enjoying your stuff!
This time, I had the small rootbeer float (cup with rootbeer on bottom, and soft serve swirled on the lip of the cup upwards, creating a gap between the two). $ 2.50. What a steal!
I also had a small butterscotch sunday ($ 2.50). Amazing, and the butterscotch flavor (NOT caramel) is always hard to find!!!
