This is a review for the poke bowls. Have not had the shave ice. The poke bowls were good but not the best. I liked the toppings that came on the bowls — daikon, etc. We had the spicy and the California. The deal breaker here — the ahi was a little stringy, with those chewy bits of white sinew. Not good. There wasn’t much of it. Gotta rate Ono Seafood much higher for poke. I feel bad, because the service was super nice.

Why haven’t I stopped here on the numerous occasions I’ve drove by?! What a great lil place for ono licious shave ice, fresh poke bowls and awesome customer service! They’re not too crazy busy either… so you don’t have to worry about toppings running out! Got my Shave Ice Fix: 3 flavors for $ 3.00 + ice cream + mochi balls & snow cap! So worth it! Definitely be back for some yummy shave ice again!

This review is on the shave ice service at my sons 1st bday party. Everyone loved the shave ice and the price is beyond compare to the other full service shave ice businesses. They were on time, professional and you can even select which flavors you want them to bring. They were a total hit and I will definitely go with them again if I need to.

I had lived on the same street as this place for months and finally made it in a few weeks ago, absolutely no regrets. Favorites are the California sushi bowl and the shaved ice. Definitely a hidden treasure!

Went here for the first time while in Honolulu from our cruise ship. We rented a car and drove over to this location where they conveniently had parking available in the back for customers and even a restroom for us to use. They were very careful when it came to my allergies and making the shaved ice. All the syrups are gluten free and dairy free and they even offer some natural ones that were pretty good as well. We all enjoyed our shaved ice and they give you plenty of syrup!

Yesterday, I Unilocaled about Aloha Cones. Since, they share the same spot, we decided to try a shave ice since we were already there. We ordered the regular bowl with lychee and passionfruit syrup. We also added on mochi balls and condensed milk. The shave ice was ok. My husband didn’t like the lychee flavoring. He said it tasted funny to him. The passion fruit was good. The white mochi balls were on the bottom of the bowl so you don’t get to it until you’re almost done. For some reason, I couldn’t taste the condensed milk. I think they should put a little more. If you read the review from yesterday, the workers here are really nice and friendly. They go out of their way to answer your questions. Don’t forget to get your punch card. If you get 10 stamps, you get a free shave ice.

After a long day of craft fair shopping at the Blaisdell, a booth selling shave ice caught my attention. I ordered a bowl of their strawberry and natural li hing mui flavors. Wow! Pillow-y soft shaved ice and yummy syrup flavors! Since then, I’ve had their shave ice at several different craft fairs and several times at their location between Queens and the Kinau exit(they have a small parking lot in the back of the building). I usually always get the strawberry, li hing mui combo. I want to try the creamsicle flavor next time though. I tried the POG flavor but that was a little too sweet for me. Give ‘em a try! I think you’ll like them.

Decent shaved ice. Good place to get a hot dog. Not much more else to say about this place. Service was friendly. It’s the type of place you don’t go out of your way to visit.

Excellent quick snack choices. Their Daikon musubi is an absolute must have. I have recently been trying their different poke bowls. 1) Spicy Ahi. Wonderful, but definitely spicy. Made me sweat, but worth it. 2) Shoyu Ahi. Must have! 3) California Roll. Also great. Comes with some shredded Daikon and furikake. The price of the bowls are around $ 9.95. They have a fountain drink machines, and some small drinks. A slushy machine, and shave ice that I have yet to try. I tried the Hole e cow hot dog, but did not find it as a must have. All-in all, great food, great people. Parking is terrible.

Went here for the first time just«about a week ago, week ago!’ and have been back three times since. I’ve tried Spicy Ahi, Hamachi, & Salmon bowls and they have all been delicious! I even got to try an Orange Bang shake, which I would get next time by itself as mixing the flavors with the fish didn’t work out for me. The staff is super friendly, their service is also really quick. I’d suggest going early because on the last trip, they were out of Shrimp Tempura but all in all, you can’t go wrong with a menu that includes, salads, minis, sushi bowls, and poke bowls. That’s not even considering the grab & go musubis, the Hol-e-cow dog, or the shave ice, which I’ll have to try for myself one of these days. If you in the mood for something Shigalicious, this the spot!

If you truly want to discover and experience a «mom and pop» establishment this is the place to go. It’s still a local and family business where the shave ice is quite delicious. The flavors are good and not too sweet. They also have sugar-free flavors, for those with restricted diets! Not many places have those. The shave ice is perfectly fluffy and melts in your mouth, perfect for a hot day. They’re located behind Slumber World, right on Kinau street, there is a small parking lot right behind their store. They also sell other favorites like musabi, slush, and so much more. They’re prices are also pretty amazing for how much they give you. I recommend trying it out at least once.

On the spur of the moment, I wanted to introduce my coworker from Kentucky what shave ice tastes like in Hawaii. Unfortunately you will get a taste here but not as satisfying compared to other local joints. I ordered a small bowl($ 2.50) which included two types of flavors. You have the option of ordering ice cream, azuki, condensed milk and/or mochi to your dessert. My lilikoi(passionfruit) and li hing we’re okay but definitely had a store-bought flavor to it. The silver lining moment was the texture of the ice which was soft and not crunchy. Start eating it quickly or else it’ll melt because the ice is so fine. Besides shave ice, they sell other snacks and musubis at very reasonable prices. Cash only. They’re typically closed on Sundays and Wednesdays and lock the door by 5PM during hours of operation. Parking is available behind their shop. On a hot day, sure stop by here but it’s definitely nothing to write home about.

the one we like is closed for a while and too bad our trip had to end. So here we are, in a small shop, not, no place to really sit but outside. Ice in bowl and flavors are spot on, but nothing too fancy. If you don’t’ really mind anything but crave some cold ice and sweetness on a hot day… that’s everyday almost… then this is ok. Bad thing is that is is situated right in front of busy street so everyone will see you eat, or at least you will see everyone looking at you… or at least glance. It’s not a busy place at all since parking is limited… to NONE unless you live close by and walk here. Would not return unless i am in area. One small bowl about $ 4 for 3 flavors.

I was on the prowl for another shave ice place to replace Ice Garden in case one day they close… and I’ve found a place! I love their red velvet shave ice with ice cream and condensed milk. The dangerous thing is it’s right by my workplace so I can go here pretty often. Make sure you take note of their days of operation and hours though because they’re closed on certain days. If you visit here, make sure you ask for a stamp card!

While I have never been to the shop, I did get the chance to try their shave ice at Discover Kaka’ako this past weekend and let me tell you: YUM! After working the event it was great to reward myself with a delicious bowl of shave ice! The flavored were impeccable and the ice was melt in my mouth good! It literally was so fluffy and smooth that it melted in my mouth(hey Christine it’s ice… they all do it duh) no I’ve had some where I have to crunch it. No bueno! But not this time! Woohoo! I can’t wait to try it again!

After trying many shave ice places on the island, I’d have to give this place 2 stars because«meh, I’ve experienced better.» It’s not the worst shave ice I’ve ever had(the ice looked coarse, but it was shaved correctly), but a combination of things won’t have me coming back here for more. Likes: The guy helping us out was friendly. There was a small bench outside, and there were 4 of us, so the lady brought out a couple more chairs so we all can sit outside(there’s hardly any space inside and it’s HOT). Dislikes: The selection of syrups was limited. I’ve tried 8 of the flavors, and most of them were nothing to return for. 2 of them were flat out bad, namely the green tea, which tasted like chemicals, and the coconut, which tasted like coconut water gone bad. Also, the mochi topping was the dry, store-bought kind, and they did not put a lot. As we were leaving the store to eat outside, the lady complained to the cashier, «all of them wanted a different flavor.» I’m not going to apologize for that. Favorites: If you decide to go here, the least offending flavors are melona and passion fruit. Get it with ice cream, and it’s as good as other places if you close your eyes and pretend your in a nicer area. It’s really easy to miss this place because it’s a small building and the entrance to the tiny parking lot is hard to find. With the mediocre syrups and the cramped eating area, I would say missing this place isn’t such a bad thing.

Great shaved ice. Came here after noticing the business when taking the new option for the Kinau off ramp. Small pink building with a bus stop 5 feet from the door. You can park in the back of the building or look for street parking. Shaved ice is great. Limited flavors, only one size but the price is right. $ 2.50 for two flavors and $ 1 for ice cream. They have other extra like mochi balls, Azuki beens, etc. The ice is shaved fine so it tends to melt fast. The best thing is that the syrup is condense, so the flavors really pop in ur mouth. Guava, lime and mango r tasty. They sell other snacks and hot dogs but the selections r limited. Haven’t tried either but may in the future. Their hot dog is called hole-e-cow, something like puka dog I guess. They have buy 10 get one free card for the shaved ice but u have to ask for it. Was thinking of giving them 4 stars because of the parking and the limited space to enjoy ur shaved ice. I came with a bunch of my nephews and nieces and constantly worried about one of them falling off the side walk into traffic or getting in the way of pedestrians. Then I took another spoon full and realized how good their shaved ice is. 5 stars.

Shiga’licious is located on Kinau St., about 2 ½ blocks down from the Queen’s Medical Center and the POBs. This location is really convenient for QMC and other employees in the area!(My coworkers and I have walked here during our breaks to grab shave ice for our department several times.) Great stop for break time! BTW, they don’t only sell shave ice and cold stuff; they also sell snacks, hot dogs, musubis, etc. I’ve only ever had the shave ice here, but I’ve heard great things about the whole menu. I definitely intend on trying more items, especially the orange bang slush and hole-e-cow hot dog. Both sound awesome. My favorite shave ice flavors are guava and POG. These flavors are accurate and very flavorful! I think Shiga’licious also offers a couple other newer flavors but I can’t recall which ones I tried.(Or perhaps I dreamt them up!!!) And FYI, Shiga’licious also offers some sugar free syrup options. *It’s nice to know that I’ll be able to enjoy shave ice when I shouldn’t! :) Oh, and I always get my shave ice with Mochi balls! Yummmmmm. Anyway, I anticipate another visit to Shiga’licious some time soon. I will update when I get to try more things from their menu. :) Unilocal 365 — #188/365

Crappiest shave ice I have ever had! I would pass by this pink building(the address is not marked on it, but it’s toward the beginning of Kinau, just after Alapai), thinking, «Wow, a new shave ice place! Cool!» So since we were in the area today, we stopped by. What a disappointment! I got a regular shave ice with ice cream and azuki beans — the combination by which I judge all shave ice. It failed on ALL levels: 1. The«ice cream» was soft serve, and it tasted like french vanilla. Yuck. 2. Not enough azuki beans. 3. The«ice cream» took up too much space in the bowl, so I hardly got any shave ice. 4. The li hing and watermelon flavors just tasted blah. 5. No trash can outside near the bench, so I had to walk down the street to the municipal trash can to throw away my not-even-half-eaten bowl. 6. They serve the shave ice in a BOWL! Cones are not even an option, so why have a cone on their logo? I’d much rather stand in the hot sun at Shimazu Store, a mile-and-a-half away. There’s a reason why some stores have crowds and others don’t!
