I will no longer purchase any major home appliances from Sears. I’ve been a loyal customer since 1979, but no longer! My LG steam dryer went out on Aug 24. Called repair, got scheduled for ⁸⁄₂₈. The tech replaced the thermostat, I paid $ 185 for parts and labor. Next day dryer still not working. Called in to complain, was given ⁹⁄₁₆ as earliest repair date! I asked to speak with mgr and was left holding for 12 min before I hung up. Called again and was given ⁹⁄₃ as repair date. Repair tech said the thermostat blew out the heater assembly so he ordered the part and gave me install dste of ⁹⁄₁₆! I’ve had it with their incompetence, lack of customer service and no-​care attitude. Enough is enough. Going elsewhere to replace refrige/​freezer soon. Please be aware of poor customer service.

So sad that they are closing

I took my van to the Sear’s shop for their «Road Ready» deal which for $ 105 included tire alignment and rotation, oil change and multi-​point inspection. Great deal. Half an hour in they tell me that I need new front tires — cost $ 265 plus the $ 105 deal. I say no way, I’ll go to Sam’s as it is way cheaper. The associate then says «I’ve got some flexibility on the price» and proceeds to come down to $ 215. Great I say, go for it but forget about the rest of the package. The associate then tells me they have done the oil change already. OK then I say — just do the tires and I’ll pay for the oil change. Half and hour later the phone rings again — so sorry, we only have the more expensive tires — cost? $ 300. No way I say — I’m coming to get my car, don’t do anything else. I arrive to get the car and am told «Sorry, it’s not ready, we just started your oil change.» I protest — «you told me an hour ago that it was done already!!» WTH? Long and the short? They LIE! Oil change cost? $ 47.50! That is around $ 20 more than most places. Tires? I got those at Sam’s — no lies, no hidden costs, no trying to sell me on something I don’t need.
