Charged my desperate daughter 30 dollars to vacuum and shampoo the passenger seat carpet. Completely ripped off a naïve 17 year old and asked her to take out cash so it would be easier for them (assuming this was so they didn’t have the explain the absurd charge).

If you love your car and want it to have that fresh from the factory look, then you need to do yourself a favor and head down to Hawaiian Island Auto Detailing! I had taken in my wife’s Lexus after nearby construction had dumped wet concrete and dirt all over. After many washes, the car still needed major work.
A full day detail with David, the car looked brand new. No concrete, water spots, residue, scratches, dam near EVERYTHING was gone. The car has never looked so clean. Their detailing service is worth every penny.
Excellent customer service! David is a perfectionist and is very passionate for what he does. Prices are cheaper than most detailers in town. Even if you know how to detail and can do it yourself, a visit to HIAD can put your car in a new light.
DEFINITELY recommended! Now I can’t wait to get my car done!

My father was a manager at a car complex and from the time I was 5 to the time I was 18 I was on the car lot surrounded by car salesmen, parts salesmen, auto detailers, and mechanics. In all that time I learned one thing, do not trust people in this industry. When picking a company to do any work on my vehicle I assume I’m always going to be screwed.
The gents at Hawaiian Island Auto Detailing are the exception not the norm. They stayed 2.5 hours after normal working hours to complete my SUV and gave me a huge discount because they were behind on the job due to high volume. Tim specifically was covered in sweat from laboring away on my car and the owner David was unbelievably nice as well. It should also be noted they took care of everything with the loss of one employee who had to go to the emergency room after cutting his hand open that day.
For a high level quality of customer service and higher standard of work give these guys a call.

Excellent customer service and you definitely get what you pay for. My car is 3 years old and you would think I just drove it off the lot. The interior smells fresh (no scent added. its just CLEAN!) and my light leather seats are now spotless. I needed to get my seats cleaned since they were looking dingy, light leather never stays clean. My expectation was just a lighter-​dingy look but instead my seats were returned to their original color and look. I would highly recommend these guys if you work in the area or have a few hours to spend, their time estimates on the website were spot on in my experience.

I think these guys are the best when it comes to detailing! I used to live right across the street from Restaurant Row so it was super convenient! I live a little farther now but this is still my go to place! Their prices are good, not obnoxious like other places, and they consistently do a good job. I’ve tried those $ 20 waterless wash and wax places and let me tell you, you get what you pay for. And frankly, there’s just something off about washing your car without water! It’s well worth paying a little more to get your car taken care of right by these guys! Highly recommended!

Been here twice and will probably keep going until they let me down. Dave has excellent customer service skills and puts the wow factor in cleaning my car.

We had a complete detail on our van for $ 200 and at that time we got a quote for my brand new honda accord (only 5000) miles for $ 160, we were getting ready to ship to Korea. Anyways, we showed up to appointment and the price changed to $ 200, no reasoning behind it other than they decided to raise the price, maybe they think we need them that bad… guess what, we don’t! Plenty other people not willing to rip off! If you would have quoted that price from beginning then it would have been ok. They do good job but even after van detail, we still had to go over the van bc there were still dirty areas, that’s from the shipping company! Took car to kapiolani blvd and there were very eager car washers who did detailing for a lot less.

I needed to have my mother-​in-​laws car detailed without spending a small fortune. I called around and spoke to a few businesses listed on Unilocal.Some of these detailing services have very complex pricing tiers. It’s easy to spend a couple of hundred dollars. After speaking with David, I decided to give them a try, with the $ 95 kamaaina special. When I picked up my car I was very impressed by how thoroughly they cleaned the car. They put the «detail» into their service. They made a 12 year old car look like new. I will not hesitate to go back for their services. We have 4 cars in the household. Thank you David!

I bought a groupon coupon for threir vitreo sealant treatment. When I got there the guy looked at my car and said he couldn’t guarantee a shine because Toyota whote is famous for losing its color but he can go ahead and do it a slong as I understood that the shine might not be there. However if I would let him buff and wax the car for $ 175.00 for what usually cost $ 300.00 he can bring a shine back but it would also remove the clear coat. Long story short and went back to see a decent shine howver nothing was done to the interior my mats were still dirty. Once out in the sunlkight the shine seemed to have disappear. The next day I applied a coat of carnauba wax on my own and the car looks like new, I should have done this in the first place. I also had to do my black trim because there was a lot of wax and marks from the buffing machine.

Called mid week to get a Saturday appointment to have my Nissan Frontier Crew Cab cleaned up. Dave at Hawaiian Island Auto Detailing was very professional on the phone and in person. Dropped off the truck as scheduled and was told that they were running a little behind schedule. I told them that I was not in a rush just call me whenever its done. Dave called me a couple of hours later to give me an update and estimated time to pick up. It was nice getting an update so I could better use my Saturday afternoon instead of watching UH get waxed by Fresno and waiting for my truck to get finished.
Truck was done very nicely. Got the Kamaaina detailing package for about $ 95. Inside and outside was done well and you can see the pride in the work… all the little things like cup-​holders, etc. were cleaned and washed.
Anyway, I recommend Hawaiian Island Auto Detailing and plan on taking my other car soon.

What an amazing attention to detail and overall fantastic job they do. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable. The price was well worth the service I received and it was done in a very timely manner. I have a very high end automobile and I wouldn’t trust it with anyone else. I would recommend this detail shop to anyone. And yes, they work miracles. Just try to get an appointment in!

The only detail place I go to!!! They have been doing great work on my car. The location is really convenient for me near my working place but I don’t mind driving to any of their location any time when I really need to get my car looking HOT! The guys there are very friendly and easy to talk to. They really take care of your car. The pricing is worth it on what service you need. Good jobs guys keep up the business!!! See you folks soon.

I have been here twice — twice because polls managed to get in the way and scratch my car doors!
Anyhow, David kept me informed on both visits (while I was sipping on a martini at the Bambu Bar) and advised me on the best options for my car. The first time, my car looked brand new after a wash, minor buff, and wax. Awesome job! The second visit my damage was a little worse and I will have to get some touch up paint, but the clean up job they did was flawless.
Friendly staff, great advice, and overall great service! They also took me in last minute as well which I appreciate! This is my go-​to place for those rude polls that get in my way and for regular car care. Thanks guys!!!

Thanks guys at Hawaiian Island Auto Detailing you helped a busy guy out big time. I called ahead to see if they could take me and they said a Tacoma would be $ 70 bucks it came out to $ 95 probably because I didn’t mention it was a Double Cab so I can’t really blame them for that.
My Poor little ’04 Black Tacoma was a rough due to a lazy guy not taking the time other than washing it once in a while so it was getting a bit oxidized poor thing.
I had to rush them a little bit as I was eating lunch and going to pick it up afterwards they were very accommodating and put two more guys on my truck to get it ready in time.
Wow they even got the gum outta my floor mats that was caked in awesome! the Truck looked spectacular I am now sorry I need to sell it because I bought a New Tacoma which of course is a black double cab again I think if I am going to be a lazy guy I might as well bring it to them to make sure my new Truck stays beautiful since they did a great job on my old one.

Great service, nice people and great job! They are very accommodating when I had to reschedule. They also very pleasant on the phone and provide service with a smile. My 2004 Highlander never looked better! What else can I say? I will definitely come here again! Thank you!

This is our families new go to business when we need our cars detailed. Hubby’s office is at Restaurant Row so it is co convenient for him to leave the car to be detailed while he is upstairs working.
Everytime he brings the one of our cars there, it always comes back shiny, clean and looking brand new. Recently, we sold his Lexus and had it detailed before we showed it to the seller. It showed beautifully and we got exactly what we wanted.
Just yesterday we had my three month old van detailed and also had their special Vitreo paint sealant applied and paid $ 125. The base cost for detailing a van or SUV is $ 70. The van actually looks shinier than when we picked it up!
I would highly recommend this place!

OK, Im not sure if its a new owner or what but my previous experience with this company was an easy 4 stars, my last experience I would say was very disappointing.
I drove in on saturday opting for the mini-​detail special which was $ 60 for the basic wash, wax, tired, windows and vacum. The whole operation took about and 1.5 hours which is a little faster than I thought it would take.
When i arrived to pick up my car, an associate asks me how it looks and I said it looks great! I paid them $ 60 plus I gave them a 15 dollar tip expecting the same great service i received on my previous visit.
When i got my car home and examined my car further, I noticed that they didnt wax the entire bottom half of my car on BOTH sides, the lower portion of my front and rear bumper and the area of my door handle!!! I was like WTh! Now I could understand if they missed a small portion of my car, that can be forgivable, but to miss the entire bottom half of my car on both sides and the other areas i mentioned leads me to believe that it was done on purpose to cut corners in hopes i wouldnt notice. I know they use an electric buffer to apply and remove the wax so its not that hard. Perhaps it was my fault for not checking but really why should i have to? I cant help but feel as if i was taken advantage of and Im hugely disappointed. I struggle not to give this place one star being that they missed half my car.

I’ve had my car detailed multiple times at Hawaiian Island Auto Detailing because I used to work at Restaurant Row. There was nothing better than dropping my dirty silver Lexus RX300 in the morning & then picking up a shiny pretty Lexus RX300 in the afternoon! They were always really good at having my car cleaned by the agreed upon time whenever I’ve gone there. Best thing you can do is drop it off in the morning before work then pick it when you’re finished in the late afternoon.
Detailing can get pretty spendy but it’s worth it if you want to keep your car looking swanky! Dave the owner is a cool guy (and a golfer!) and they’re offering a pretty good deal right now for Kama’aina. It’s not cheap like the drive thru car wash but when you get your car back it’s almost as good as brand new!

I was really looking forward to getting my car detailed on two separate occasions. Both times however I was left feeling a little let down. While these guys may do all the usual tasks pretty good, I think it’s the details where they really lack.
On my first experience here, very first detailing for my vehicle, I decided to try these guys out as they operated out of the building that I work at. I also decided to try them out because I saw that they were having a $ 60 summer special which covered a lot of basic stuff like hand wash and wax, vaccum, clean wheels.
Early in the week I make a reservation for 9am that Friday and I tell them I want the summer special. When I drop it off my car on Friday, the guy asks me when I get off work. I tell him, «oh, around 3pm.» He tells me that he’ll have the car ready by then. At this point I was a little nervous because when I had set up my appointment the manager told me it would take 2 – 3 hours, at the latest I should have my car back by 12pm, maybe 1pm. When I return later to pick up my car and I go to pay, the guy tells me that it will be $ 85. That really caught me off guard and I was just like – OK. So he then asks me how I want to pay I tell him credit card. He then tells me that if I use my credit card it’ll be $ 89 instead of $ 85. How does the price get bumped up if I use my credit card instead of paying cash? Needless to say that while they did a good job on my car, the whole experience left me unsettled.
So for attempt number two I went in budgeting $ 90 for my detailing. Same as before I go down early in the week to set up my appointment for later in the week. This time I ask what kind of services they have and they tell me about the «mini-​detailing» which is $ 85 (the service I had last time without asking for it). I tell them ok and set up an appointment for Thursday.
I come in on Thursday and give my keys to one of the guys. When I come down to pick it up the worker that I picked it up from wasn’t very personable, didn’t really speak clearly, and wasn’t that informative about what was going on. He was actually the same one I picked my car up from the last time and even then he demonstrated these same negative qualities. I was not surprised by the price this time (it was $ 85 and I did pay in cash). However when I got into my car I noticed that there were still watermarks and streaks on both the front and back windows. Upon further inspection in the cupholder area, I still saw stains that were left from spilled drinks. Needless to say I was again taken aback as last time their service was great and this time they had not spent the effort on the details.
Overall my experience with these guys wasn’t that great and I don’t think I’ll be going back to them.
