I absolutely love this place. Fresh bread to die for. Pizza is out of this world. Great prices as well. I’ve been eating at Rosarina’s for about 10 years now and will continue to keep coming back.

Best pizza I’ve had in Honolulu! Fast and friendly too. Not a lot of seating though so you may want plan for possibly doing a take out. I ended up eating in the truck, but it was still delicious!

Past by here all the time but finally had a chance to check it out. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and have tasted many pizza joints here on the island, and this one is just okay. I would come back to try their sub-sandwiches(based on Unilocal reviewers) but as for pizza dinners, this won’t be on the top of my list. Service: Looked like a family-owned business. Folks here seemed very friendly. Awesome service! Food: We ordered 2 biggest-size pizzas: supreme/combo and a 3-choice(pineapple, mushroom, pepperoni) and a salad for our party of 6. The pizzas were nicely sized and we were definitely full afterwards, but as far as taste, it’s just average in my opinion. The pizza was fresh indeed, but something about it that makes me think ‘I’ve had better’. Maybe I’m just too picky. Ambiance: One thing I noticed was that the place is so clean. Street parking only.

Rosarina, you«standard» chain of asian owned italian food! They have their own style of pizza thats quite different than the other chains. It definitely has its own taste signature compared to your usual huts. I dont care for the pizza too much but their sub sandwiches are a good deal and has a much sweater taste than subways. The included italian dipping sauce is to fie for. If you’ve ever had la pizza rina or amina you’ll know what to expect!

After an evening of sketch comedy rehearsals I decided to visit Rosarina Pizza. Have not been here in YEARS! Walked in the door and I was greeted with the most wonderful aroma. The memories are coming back now with the help of an awesome olfactory buzz. Decided to order the Rosarina Combo with half anchovies(all for me, bwahahaha). My wife is not an anchovy aficionado! Rosarina boasts six tables with seating for about 24 peeps. Inside the restaurant is bright, cheery with clean tile floors and AC. I was quoted a 15-minute wa

A co-worker casually mentioned this place a week or so ago. She says that there is really yummy pizza and italian sandwiches. It’s a bit of a walk from work, but I decide to check it out on Unilocal.Imagine my surprise when I find out that the owner was once in business with the owner of La Pizza Rina. AND the menu is the same. YES! Super sub within walking distance of work. I am beyond excited! I made the trek over there today and ordered the Rosarina Super Sub. Bonus points for serving it on a bigger roll — in 8″ and 16″ versions. And the best part — it comes with the same, delicious special dressing. The stuff is like crack. If the pizzas are the same I am in for a treat. I can’t wait to go back!

Well, after picking up our take out pie, we got home and paired it with a beautiful kale salad and a bottle of 2011 Caymus Cab. The crust was a little soggy in the middle, possibly due to the extra sauce ordered and the steaming action of the take out box, but acceptably sturdy and actually very delicious. The toppings were generously applied and fresh. The overall effect was good. Not fantastic but a good solid pizza pie worth every penny. Maybe asking for a few extra minutes in the oven would give it a better crisp. But I can feel confident recommending this pizza to others. Go for it!

When my visiting Italian friend from the East Coast and I walked into Rosarina Pizza, we were ready for a good meal. Both of us were famished from the First Friday Art Walk and decided to take a chance here after reading some Unilocal reviews. Everything looked good on the menu, making it harder to order since this was our first time eating here. But we decided to split a submarine sandwich and a pizza. The Rosarina Super Sub came out first and this hot sandwich really hit the spot! We didn’t have high expectations but were pleasantly surprised how delicious it turned out. It was authentic and one of the best hot submarine sandwich I had in a long time. The bread was perfectly toasted while the salami, pepperoni and ham slices melted nicely with the cheese. The sub came with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions and their house dressing. This special house dressing made the sandwich memorable. It was so good that we each finished our half sandwich in a couple of bites! We both agreed we will come back for this sandwich again. Our second item came out of the oven extremely hot so we waited awhile before we dig into the vegetarian pizza. All the fixings of extra cheese, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, olives and mushrooms tasted so yummy on our regular pizza crust. The pizza was decent and the extra cheese made it worthwhile. Personally, I’d have liked the crust baked on the crispier side. Maybe I will put in a request for that next time around. It wasn’t the best pizza I had but I don’t mind eating at this pizza joint when I’m in the area. I will return to Rosarina Pizza so I can try some other things on the menu. The place is your classic mom-and-pop restaurant where pride and quality goes hand in hand. The ambiance was casual and cozy since the place is small. We enjoyed our meal very much based on what we ordered. Service was good and the lady who waited on us was nice enough to pack me some extra dressing in my doggie bag. She appears to be one of the owners. «I will be back» as The Terminator would say…

This is a little pizza shop on Maunakea St. nestled between Pauahi and S. Hotel Streets. It’s been here for a while and is the sister store to La Pizza Rina on S. King Street(same family). I ordered a mini combo pizza with an Italian salad for lunch. The pizza crust is alright and the toppings and cheese were pretty generous. On the combo you pretty much get everything from mushrooms, olives, onions, pepperoni and Italian sausage. The Italian salad was pretty substandard. It’s a bunch of iceberg lettuce with onions, olives, and some pickled veggies on top. It is served with a tangy Italian dressing. Sort of like the dipping sauce served at La Pizza Rina for their sub sandwiches. Parking can be a hassle, but if you work in the area or are walking by, it’s worth a try for lunch. Funny thing is, it’s a Vietnamese family making pizzas. They speak broken English, but they are pretty friendly. You can see them making your pizza through the little window where you order. They do accept debit/credit cards but there is a $ 10 – 12 minimum(sorry can’t remember the exact amount).

Went to Rosarina Pizza day before yesterday for the first time in about 25 years. I used to be a regular when they were on Kalakaua Ave just outside of Waikiki but haven’t really gone since their move downtown. I didn’t realize how long it had been until I talked to the lady who owns it. She told me they had opened on Kalakaua 28 years ago and moved downtown 25 years ago. I thought about how old my daughter was when we used to walk across the street to eat there and realized she was right. The good news is that it is just as fantastic now as it was back then. They have the same wonderfully crispy slightly sweet crust they had 25 years ago. Great sauce and awesome fresh toppings make Rosarina a place no one should miss. I ordered an extra large Rosarina combo even though I went by myself. I knew I was going to want leftovers. While I waited for my pizza I saw some of the pasta dishes that other dinners ordered. I’m definitely going back to try them! Parking downtown is one of the reasons I haven’t gone to Rosarina in so many years. Thankfully, there is a little self-park lot less than half a block away now so I can become a regular again.

Great little pizza store located in the heart if Chinatown across the street from the mauna kea marketplace. I’ve seen for year from eating at pho97 but never got a chance to try it. When finally did with my very very Chinese grandpa, both of us like it a lot. We ordered a mini combination pizza which is a personal size supreme loaded with cheese and veggies and meat for 725 and also an order of garlic bread with cheese(8+ pieces). Like everyone else, I really likes how the pizza crust was like Pizza Hut pan style but crispy and less bready. It was the perfect texture. The toppings we tasty and cooked perfectly and wait time was short. Two person duo running the shop are very friendly. Prices are very reasonable too.

I mean this with all due respect: this place looks like a restaurant straight out of the Godfather movie trilogy. I was afraid to say anything too stupid because I was afraid Al Pacino would come out and kiss me on the lips. All kidding aside, this is one of the best pizza places I’ve eaten at in quite some time. I could tell everything was made then and there. After spending four years in college, I have no tolerance for pizza that sat under a heat lamp for God knows how long. When I went, I got the large pizza with pepperoni, ham, and sausage. A couple of buddies and I split the pie and we all thought it was delicious and filling. And when you consider the fact one of these particular friends is from New Jersey, that is a very good recommendation to have. The place is not very big in square footage so I do not recommend bringing a large party to this place. But if you have a reason for a big take-out pizza order, such as an office party or get together, then you should definitely place an order here because you will not regret it.

Wanted to try something new for lunch, plus one person in my group was craving pizza(and you don’t argue with a pregnant woman’s cravings!), so we gave this Chinatown pizza place a try. Lots to choose from: pizzas in four sizes and three crusts, salad, hot sandwiches. We split a large Rosarina Combination(sausage, pepperoni, onion, mushroom, green pepper, black olive) with thick crust. If what we got was truly thick-crust, the thin crust must be mere microns deep! Crisp yet chewy crust, fresh toppings, and not greasy at all. Sauce tasted jarred, but punched up with some dried oregano. A two-person operation, but efficient: we sat, ordered, ate, chatted, and paid, all within about an hour. Open until 2:30p, but dine-in discouraged after 2(take-out was okay). Right across Maunakea from the Maunakea Marketplace. Street parking is probably your best bet, unless you work downtown. Room for about six parties of four. Cash only. They appeared to take phone orders. I think there are much better Downtown/Chinatown pizza options. I might return for a hot sandwich(e.g. sausage/cheese) one day, but I don’t think I’d go back for the pizza.

Now that I am working in Downtown again, you are always on the look out for good and cheap food. To my surprise, Rosarina is still around after 12 years of not working in Downtown. The menu here is similar to that of La Pizza Rina because at one time the two owners from what I understand were business partners. That no longer applies and I’m not sure if they had amicable split. Regardless of that, the food is still the type you would expect to get from a mom/pop type of eatery. The pizza, subs and pasta all look homemade and it is. With that said you will either love it or hate it depending on your expectations. I for one am comfortable with this type of food. So it works for me. I had the spaghetti with meatballs I thought it was just okay. The tomato sauce a little on the sweeter side. The meatballs were good but they only gave me 2 of them and the noodles were a bit on the overcooked side and they didn’t drain it properly so you were left with a bit of the water in the dish blending and diluting the sauce. I gave this place 3 stars however based on what my co-workers at and it was the pizza and subs. That looked and probably tasted much better. So the next time I go it’s pizza or a sandwich for me!

*edit 3.12.12* so i’m a stubborn piggy and i really liked the pizza. so i ate there again with that girl that experienced the bug leg in her water. from the time we last ate there and the most recent time, they really made some changes. the place still smells sort of like cat, but the place appears to be more cleaner. the lady is still nice, pizza is still good. but they raised the prices a little. I think it’s still a good deal though. I’m going back on Tuesday lol

Tried the Sausage & Pepper Sub. As another reviewer commented, the sausage tasted like it was boiled, not sauteed. So that gets a slight subtraction of flavor, but not by much, as the internal part of the Italian sausage is well seasoned and mighty tasty. The bread bun is also — as previously mentioned — crusty and airy in feel, with an overall fresh-made impression. Add to that the medley of mildly zesty Marina and just a touch of cheese mixed in along with that: the sum of its parts makes this Italian sub a winner, as well as a great downtown value @ just $ 5 for a meal-sized sandwich that would fill most hungry adults. The Cheese bread essentially tastes like a good quality«French» Bread covered with a slice of fresh-made Mozzarella, then baked until the is cheese melted. No more, no less. Simply good stuff.

Rosarina is one of those places you pass by and think to yourself that you’d like to try that place sometime soon. Their advertisement of serving authentic NY style pizza in the middle of Chinatown is what catches your eye. They definitely LOAD their pizzas. The combo had everything you expect in a combo — sausage, pepperoni, bell pepper, onion, olives and mushrooms and slightly covered in melting cheese. The sauce was tangy and surprisingly well seasoned. The crust was firm, didn’t get soggy, but seemed just barely cooked. The mini size was $ 7-ish. The sausage, bell pepper and cheese sub was delicious! The bread is surprisingly fresh tasting, crusty and airy. Filled with sausage, few bell peppers(my only qualm with this place), melted gooey cheese and tomato sauce. The sandwich was lacking salt? seasoning? But easily correctable with some hot pepper chili flakes. The 8″ was $ 5-ish. Don’t let the exterior fool you! The interior is really clean and nice. Small, but neat. Its a 2 person show, with the hubby in the back and the wife up front. Prices are so reasonable, the pizza and sub were satisfying portions, we definitely will be back to try their 16″ garlic bread($ 2.75)!
