I used this company to handle 2 shipments for me. The total shipping cost was over $ 4,000. They provided, without a doubt, the worst service i have ever seen in my entire 30 years in the importing business.
I asked them to pickup a number of items on the mainland and send them all to me in hawaii in one consolidated shipment as soon as possible as I was really pressed for time. They said they understood and would do their best. The first 2 pickups went ok. But after giving them to the info to pick up a couple of boxes near las vegas, they promised to get it the next day. Three days later, it still wasnt picked up. I called them to check on it, and 2 days later, the boxes were still not picked up. Someone sending me these boxes had just wasted 5 days staying homer waiting for the trucker to come and no ever came to get them or called. Finally the next week, the rudest trucker shows up with a nasty attitude, takes one box, refuses the second box, refuses to call his company to check on this, and drives away leaving part of the shipment behind. I had to later ship a replacement for this box, and the cost of replacing the stuff and the freight together came to $ 480. All because they were inept. Finally when the consolidated shipment got to hawaii, 2 weeks late, I was calling them to locate it and arrange delivery and their office phone was broken, and still is broken 3 weeks later. I got misinformation 3 times about where the shipment was, they had no clue where it was. Mot a good feeling when you are needing your stuff and its already 2 weeks late.
On the second shipment they handles for me, it arrived a week late, no big deal on this one, but when the trucker came, they dropped 37 crates weighing between 80 and 140 lbs at my store„ just dropped them on the street, no pallets, just sitting on the cement in the middle of the parking lot. The invoice had a fee of nearly $ 100 for palletizing the shipment, but i guess that didnt include giving me the shipment on pallets, as someone decided it was cheaper fro them to move the cargo in a container without pallets.
In summary, it was just totally unprofessional, inconsiderate, irresponsible, and just plain rude and sloppy. All for about $ 4500.
my advice is never use this company. the guy Peter running the Honolulu office seems considerate, but hes totally lacking in the skills to do this job right. Unless you have $ 4,500 to throw away, and enjoy being abused regularly for a few weeks, i suggest you go elsewhere for your shipping services. Mid America doesn’t have a clue.
