Nice pearls. So fun to see the pearl pulled out of the oyster and to see the color. The jewelry setting and chains for the pearl is pricy! I bought a necklace setting as gift and was able to open up a new pearl for free. They were able to drill a hole for a latter setting for me, since I wasn’t spending another hundred on a necklace. The pearl is only $ 14.99 and it’s fun!

was lured in after drawing a «60% off» coupon from a sales associate. do not regret it at all! got a huge white pearl for $ 6 and bought a ring to place it in for $ 65. because we bought an accessory, we got to crack another oyster. and got two additional black pearls! a fun experience and a cute ring later, I am a happy girl!

Maui Divers is definitely a Hawaiian jewelry tourist trap. The Rundown: At this facility you get to learn how they culture pearls, hand carve gold, and create pretty coral pieces. First they take you down an aisle talking about all the natural materials in Hawaii used to make the jewelry(namely the coral and the pearls). You then watch a video that talks about the history of Maui Divers. Afterward you are taken to get a look at the village of ladies who put all that jewelry together! Then bam, a showroom full of gorgeous, expensive jewelry. If I had to choose between the ritzy jewelers of Hawaii(Na Hoku and Maui Divers) I would choose Maui Divers since you are getting more bang for your back. The Maui Divers pieces are way more SOLID while the Na Hoku pieces are pretty much small and plated. Na Hoku is also more expensive for less gold and delicate design — I figure you’re paying more for the brand than anything else, but to be honest, you’re definitely paying for the Maui Divers brand as well. Maui Divers can only be found in Hawaii though — Na Hoku does have a location in Glendale Galleria. After the tour, they take you on another trip to either Hilo Hattie or Ala Moana Center.

I ain’t cheap! I’m realistic? You know, If the goal was, after I cringed with abject fear over the exorbitant prices of the jewelry at Maui Divers, to get me to buy Mrs H a shiny 14K yellow gold ring with 2 Tahitian Black Pearls & a diamond at the sale(?) price of $$$$ without forcing me into a fretting fervor, then the ladies at this Maui Divers location scored a slam dunk. Nothing but net. Customer service: Top notch. Selections of jewelry: Top notch. Employee knowledge of inventory: Top notch. Putting a huge smile on Mrs H’s face: Priceless. Of course, those affable Diver Divas were more than happy to show Mrs H even pricier rings, necklaces, earrings, and other assorted gem encrusted accouterments of excellent quality and variety. But they applied no pressure on Mr Thrifty over here to trade-up or spend more than I was comfortable doing.(Hey, I still hadda pay for the hotel room, you know!) Final summation? Maui Divers was top notch. Yes, Mrs H is still smiling. And, ouch, my wallet’s still stinging.

For starters, this place is expensive. With luxury in the title, you shouldn’t be surprised. Also, it’s located inside the Royal Hawaiian and all of those shops are like two times more expensive than anywhere else. But, I digress. Denise, with Maui Divers, was absolutely amazing. This woman would have sold ketchup popsicles to a woman in white gloves. While walking past, a mother of pearl leaf necklace caught my eye, so we went in for a peak. Denise showed me the necklace, which was like $ 90 followed by multiple hundreds of dollar necklaces and charms. In the end, my husband bought me a pearl ring hugged with two leaves from here as a birthday present. Only, the original ring came with a black pearl and I didn’t want that. The jeweler found me a white pearl to switch and had it sized within 4 hours of my purchase! It was crazy! My wedding ring took 4DAYS to size, and I didn’t even have them change the stone! We had been at their other location and Denise actually called and had someone man her store so we could go look at other alternatives in their affiliate. Plus, the pearl she opened up had 2 pearls in it! So, I got pearl earrings too. We walked out with WAY more jewelry than the little necklace I had wanted(and am consequently wearing now), but I have some amazing and truly unique gifts lined up for the rest of the year. Thanks, Denise!
