Magoo’s Pizza Waikiki

Sorry to say this did not live up to my expectations. Seemed like there was no or very little sauce.
The Moiliili location by the library and McD’s was much better and been around longer. Will go back again, just not at the Kapahulu location.

Awesome hot pastrami subs! I’ve been looking for a sandwich like this in Hawaii for I don’t know how long! Finally!

I got the salami sub sandwich and it was delicious! Honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted better than Stortos. Sandwich took them about 5 min to make. Definitely worth the drive.

I ordered the chicken pizza and the people were really nice however i personally thought it was really gross that they just threw on a bunch of whole garlic cloves. I personally do not like eating them whole like that, but eating the pizza without them sucked too because it seems like there was no garlic or any other flavoring in the sauce. it was literally just tomato paste. But even eating the garlic cloves, you get a few bites with no taste and then a mouthful of garlic. Thats not very pleasant either. Perhaps I’ll try something different next time

This is really good pizza for a food truck. The flavors are good, and the ingredients appear to he fresh. My boyfriend went down to order and pick up, and he said that the guy told him it would be ready on 17 minutes and it was ready on the dot. We got the garlic cheese bread which wasn’t so good after it cooled down. We didn’t try it hot because we ate the pizza first, but I think it would have been better if we ate it right away. It was also a little too buttery for me, which was a little too much richness after eating the pizza. The pizza itself had good flavor, but it was heavy, and I was only able to eat a couple slices before throwing in the towel. I think is was too many strong flavors. It was good flavor, but strong. I would order from here again, and maybe try one of their sandwiches.

Ordered a medium shrimp scampi pizza and a pastrami sub. Subs at Magoo’s are really good, the pizza’s are ok. The shrimp scampi pizza wasn’t very good, but I enjoyed the sub I got here.

I purchased this off of a groupon for $ 15 for $ 30… Ordered the giant size, the barbecue chicken and gourmet magoo’s. Needless to say this was one of the worst pizzas I’ve had, the crust was so bad! It tasted really hard and flavorless. I’m glad I tried it though but man, I am so not eating there ever again. Even the toppings didn’t do it justice!

Magoos pizza is so delicious. I used to live right next door to their truck on Kapahulu and the smell of pizza crust cooking in the oven would waft into my apartment making me crave it all the time. My favorite pizza was the bbq chicken pizza with crust cooked to perfection, delicious bbq sauce, cheese, chicken, and cilantro to top it off. I think it was the cilantro that brought everything together to create a happy little relationship pizza.
Their sandwiches are great as well and loaded with goodies, but be prepared to have enough for a couple meals even if you order the 6 inch.

Tonight we used a groupon for magoo’s pizza and subs. I ordered the medium meat lovers pizza, turkey sub and drinks for $ 29. Location is convenient on Kapahulu and open until midnight. Knowing that some of the best food on this island comes off a truck, I’m not at all nervous about my pizza and sub order. Cashier was friendly and helpful in my pizza selection. He advised us that the wait was about 20 – 25 mins. We waited in the outdoor seating area that consisted of a few metal chairs and long plastic table. Not the ideal situation for a date night, but great for people watching, as it sits in front of the truck facing the road. At 30 mins, the toddler and I started exploring the parking lot and discovered a pretty neat out door seating area fully equipped with strings of lights and real tables with chairs, like a cute Italian restaurant. Right at 40 mins, our food was finally ready :(
Both pizza and sub were satisfactory, but not nothing to really talk about. I might try again hoping this was just an off night for them. The two workers did look pretty busy for a Thursday night.

wowowowow! This pizza was the best I’ve had ever since I moved out here!!! The pizza sauce has some kind of bbq flavoring which I love, WHO WOULD’VE thought! I ordered the Meat Lover’s pizza. I recommend this place if you also don’t like choke crust like me.

Stick to the sandwiches, they are awesome! Had the hot pastrami & it brought back memories! Not too lean but just right! Ham & mushroom winner too!

They moved to old Hard Rock parking lot for a while then disappeared 1 night! Phone disconnected! What’s going on?

My lovely wife surprised me by bringing home a pizza from here tonight. She got half meat lovers for me (I’m not a veggie fan) and half pineapple/​ham for our daughter.
I remember Magoo’s from back in the day in Waikiki. Always loved the sauce, crust, and cheese. I also went to their location in Aiea across from Buzz’s about 15 years ago. Love the sandwiches. More recently there was a truck behind 24 hour fitness in Mililani, but alas it’s gone. Living in Mililani, the only options for pizza are Pizza Hut and Papa Johns. I love pizza but I’m over both of those options.
Back to the pizza. The pizza was home for hours in the microwave. I reheated for 20 seconds and it did not disappoint! It’s just as tasty as I remember. Definitely superior to Pizza Hut/​Papa Johns. Ample toppings included sausage, bacon, pepperoni, and ham. The pizza was a little small though. I’m not a big eater, but I ate my entire half in one sitting.
If they had a closer location and was priced a little lower, I would be a regular. I’ll try the sandwich next time I’m in town!

Hawaii’s food truck culture is huge. Trucks are everywhere serving just about anything you can think of… including pizza! Magoo’s Pizza is not exactly the best pizza you are going to have, but it is fun and tasty nonetheless. The fact that you are being served a fresh hot pizza out of a truck is worth the visit alone!
