Great customer service! Big misunderstanding of what happened exactly but They went above and beyond to resolve the issue.
Tents went up quick, they walked us through the whole process and it was over before we knew it. Glad we found them for our termite problem. I do recommend them for pest control!

Very positive experience with Kama’aina Termite and Pest. Salesperson, Kris, was very professional and patient throughout process. He provided a fair price quote, explained the process very throughly, including what to bag, precautions to take and process from beginning to end.
I got a call the day before stating the crew would be there between 930 and 1130. Crew showed up at 930. Crew chief introduced himself and politely asked to do an exterior walk around. The other three crew members were also polite and professional. I have solar, pv panels and a satellite dish. All of which was not damaged. All gutter corners and joints were protected from damage and we’re also not damaged.
Crew chief said they would be back between 7 and 11 the next day to take down tent. They arrived at 8 and had the tent off by 9. Chief said wait 6 hours to let gas dissipate and re enter at 3.
I highly recommend Kama’aina termite and pest.

To update my review, I am still disheartened by the experience with Kamaaina. In the real estate industry you should be able to trust the recommendations of experts sent out to evaluate the worthiness of a home. If a property has termites, the buyers need to know this. It’s not a deal breaker, but the sellers are responsible to remedy the problem.
Most recently I had an excellent experience with Aloha and Menahune also deserves a shout out.

We are tenants at a recent location that was tented. We were told that they would be arriving at 8:00 am, but arrived at our place at 9 ish. Before we left we asked for the time for us to come back inside the house, and we were told the apartment would be aired out by 11:00am. We got to our apartment at 12:30 pm for them to tell us that we had to wait for the lock to be removed. After waiting for about an hour I decided to call the office, and guess what the lady that answered the phone said that the lock wouldn’t be removed until 4−5pm. This place is unprofessional and very inconvenient.

I had 3 houses those covered by kamaaina but recently i found new dropping after over 1 year so they retent again without any compenation, after a month later the the dropping happened again i called 3 different termite companies to inspect and they all said still termite active, but kamaaina said that is normal and refuse to treat even though under guaranty so i have to spend money again for treatment from another company, also kaimaaina had a bad customer service and agent don’t waste your money and time with this bad unprofessional company

Went with them because they where reasonably priced. We waited all day for them to show up they didn’t arrive till 3pm. We called the office becuz we where under the impression that they would show up in the morning, the women at the office said they don’t do tenting in the morning they take down tents in the morning and tent in the afternoon. Before that when speaking to the estimator he said they leave the tent for 24 hours before taking it down that is the requirement for fumigation. So getting back to talking to the women at the office… I then said well if ur coming to my house at a later time then ur gonna take down the tent at that time the next day to allow 24 hours of fumigation she then said no 16 hours is enough time to fumigate the house and I said the estimator recommended 24 hours she then said well if 16 hours isn’t enough time u still have a 5 year warranty and they’ll come back and retent I was like aren’t you guy suppose to do the job correct the 1^st time. Moving on so the next day we went back to the house at about 10am tent was gone. We noticed my gutter was hanging so we called then and asked what’s the deal my gutter is hanging, the women at the office then told me if you read ur contract it states they are not liable for damages done to the roof or gutters. Kind of bs cuz it wasn’t broke before you got there now I have to hire someone to fix it.

Although everyone I spoke with was very nice, my experience was a terrible one, marked by unnecessary inconveniences, a lack of professionalism, and extra costs. First, there were constant delays. While these might be unavoidable or excusable given the fickleness of weather conditions, what was not excusable was that I was strung along by constant reassurances that the crew was on their way, or given false promises about when things would happen that compounded inconveniences and wasted a lot of my time. When, for my appt scheduled btwn 11 – 1, some guys finally came at 2, they then left to go help with another house, then two different guys came back around 3:30, even though all day I’d been told they were on their way and so had not canceled a late afternoon doctor’s appt. Shortly after they came, they left – one guy said this was because of the wind, though the other said it was b/​c there were too few of them. There was little perceptible wind. I then waited for someone «on his way» to discuss plans for the next day who never showed, though he called around 5 and promised the job would be done between 10 – 10:30 the next day. At 10:30, someone came to my house and promised the crew would arrive in an hour. When I called the office at 1 pm, I was told the window of time I had been given was impossible, but that the crew was on their way. They finally came after 2 and I reminded them about turning off the gas (that this was needed was also on their instruction sheet) and they promised to do this. The gas, I learned when the man from the gas company came to turn it back on a few days later, was never shut off. And, when I returned to my house after the tenting, it was littered outside with wads of tape, empty food and drink cups, and inside the house, my white curtains were mysteriously streaked with brown dirt that did not come out when washed. I called to complain about my experience, and as was the pattern throughout, was told I’d get a call-​back within 30 minutes, and didn’t. I called back the next day and repeated my complaints and, at the request of the person I was speaking to, wrote them up and, as asked, sent a photo of my stained curtain. I still have received no reply. The most serious problem is, of course, that the gas was not turned off – the man from the gas company said that even a small leak in the line could have proven disastrous. And even for the smaller matters, had they initially or at any point been upfront about how uncertain the scheduling is, I would have saved a lot of time, stress, and money. The inspection by Sean went professionally and well, but after that, at each and every step, although everyone has been perfectly nice, their actions have been disrespectful and irresponsible, in the case of the gas, dangerously so.
UPDATE: I finally heard from someone at the company who promised to come by my house and attempt to clean my curtain. We set up an appointment, giving him a two-​hour window of time. He did not show up.
2^nd UPDATE: After complaining about the no-​show and asking for $ 200 off my bill, the company agreed to this deduction.

Thieves and con men. Our home has been treated monthly to prevent flea and ant problems, our neighbors have dogs and they come in our yard. The company we use said we have no termites so no need for them to treat for them. We are selling our home, so Kamaaina Pest comes out to do an inspection. Raymond Keaulana was the termite inspector sent. He walked around the home and tapped a stick on the outside rafters. Thats it. He never got a ladder off his truck or a flashlight, he just tapped on the rafters. He said he found live termites in 4 areas, my dad was with him on his walk around and Ray couldn’t point any live ones out to him, but his report said he found them by tapping a stick. I guess only he could see them. The other termite company said they couldn’t treat for termites because we didn’t have any, but Ray, without a ladder or flashlight could look up and see them. He never even looked in our attic, he literally walked around with a stick and tapped.
Because of his laziness, ignorance and incompetence, we had to pay to have our home tented.
If Raymond Keaulana ever comes to your home, expect him to be there for 15 – 20 minutes, tap with a stick, have no flashlight, not bring out his ladder or check out your attic. And you get all that for a mere $ 500.00+ bill. Plus you have to pay to have your home tented. This company and their inspector they sent to us shows that they are liars, con men, thieves.
Don’t even consider these bozo’s, RUN to another company. Worst of the worst, they should be investigated.

I would warn people against using this company, particularly if you expect that you will only need to be out of the house for one night. I think they intentionally did not give us information on how long things would take. I’m writing this review on behalf of my elderly parents, whose house was the one that was tented.
To begin with, they don’t tell you the time of the scheduled tenting until the day before. We had been expecting it to be done sometime in the morning, as most other termite tenting is done, to allow time for the chemicals to do their work, and for the house to air out after. But, they called and said that the tenting would be done between 2pm to 4pm, which we thought was quite odd being so late. The estimater/​salesperson was called to ask about how long the tent would need to be up when it was put up so late. He said they would just make the concentration stronger and it wouldn’t have to be left for a longer period, and we would be able to get back into the house «after 5» However, even with the scheduled tenting being scheduled for so late, they didn’t actually show up until close to 5 pm (on Friday). In talking to the the supervisor for the job when they put the tent up, he said that they would call us the next day when they came back to take off the tent, and that we would need to stay out of the house for 6 hrs after it was taken down. We would not need to be there when they took down the tent because they were using a clamshell device that went over the doorknob to lock it, and could take it off themselves. I confirmed twice with him that the procedure would be for them to call us when the tent came down. I also asked what time they were scheduled to come back to take it off, and he said that he didn’t know and that I would need to call the office to find out. As it was already past 5 pm, we figured we would call the next day (Sat).
The next day I called the office to find out the scheduled time for the tent removal. Spoke to a woman who seemed clueless, and was not familiar with the local street names (Hawaiian) and had to spell everything out for her, and give her the home zip code (which we thought was weird). She said she would forward my call to someone as she didn’t know anything about the schedules. Someone did call me back and said that the tent removal was scheduled for between 12 — 1 pm. I confirmed with him again that he would call us when the tent was removed so we would know when we could return to the house. At 4 pm we had not received a call, so I called the office again. Again talked to a woman who did not know anything but said she would forward the call and have someone call back. At 5:30, called the office again, and spoke to another lady who finally told me that they were a mainland answering service, and that Kamaaina was closed on Sat/​Sun and there was no one to talk to. So, having the number of the guy I spoke to in the morning in my cell phone, I called him, but he didn’t answer, and I left a message. Then, I called the number of the guy who put up the tent the day before (since he had called my cell when they were so late). He was taken aback, as it was after hours for him, but did tell me that «the office» should have called to tell me when the tent was taken down, and that he «thought it was around 2:30 pm» but he wasn’t on the crew that worked there, so he wasn’t sure. Considering that they were so late putting up the tent the day before, who knows when the tent was really removed, so I had my parents stay another night with me instead of going back to their house. Luckily they had that option. If they had needed to go to a hotel, it would have been very difficult for them I almost feel as though this company decided to put my parents at the end of the schedule when it was almost certain that they would need to be out of the house for 2 nights, just because they were elderly and they thought they wouldn’t complain. This was a very upsetting experience for them (and for me as well).

Terrific job! We had our home tented this past Monday and the crew was on time, efficient, friendly and professional! The lead technician, Trey, did a great job and he and his crew (Ben, Marshall, Fita, Kevin and Joe) made sure they were careful and respectful of our property. The office staff, Nalani, Brandi and Preston, were efficient and helpful and the salesman, Sean, did an efficient job of making sure we were prepared and informed of the procedures ahead of time.
We highly recommend Kama’aina Termite and Pest Control. They do an awesome job of allowing you to «relax» as they’ve «got you covered»!

I wouldn’t even give them one star but I can’t write a review without it. A family member had her home/​business treated and had business checks stolen from inside the home, also a fishing reel and power tools from the storage garage. When she called to speak to the manager, all he said was that he would talk to his boys. No apologies or offers to look into it further. She had to go to the bank to close the account and pay to place a stop payment on the checks. Then open another account. When she called the manager again to follow up his attitude was cocky and his reply was «see, all you had to do was put a stop payment». When she asked about the items that were missing his response was «yeah you’ll get them back with a silver ribbon on it».
It’s sad to think that a place that has the balls to name itself after Hawaii’s residents treat them like crap. They should be ashamed of themselves.
And all I can say about the manager is what goes around comes around.

I was so impressed with Sean Chaves when he came to give us an estimate that we didn’t bother with any other company. He was so professional and personable and answered all our questions we were concerned about. Everything went well, the weather, the roof didn’t collapse and we didn’t get robbed which is a concern no matter whom you choose for tenting. Mahalo to the crew for their hard work to get the tenting done. Great job, we will call again.

WE GOT BURGLARIZED!!! Originally, we made an agreement to lock up our house. However, at the very last minute, the workers were arguing with us saying that their boss told us to crack the windows and doors. We had no choice but to follow their directions. Some one or some people cut our tent and broke our window. They came in and now we don’t even know if the tenting even worked! NOW we took a lost! It would have been better and cheaper if we never tented our house!!! PLEASE SAVE YOURSELVES!!!

An appointment was made to come inspect our house for termites at 8am on a Thursday. I was incredibly pleased to see the employee roll up to our house a few minutes early and show up right on time! He was friendly, knowledgable, asked appropriate questions and was efficient in his inspection. I used Terminix when I first came out here, but stopped since they continued to postpone and miss appointments. Would definitely use and recommend Kamaaina Termite Co. in the future.

Allthough It took some time and a lot of energy, they did come thru and correct what they had done. It wasn’t the best experience but when they made the mistake, they did correct it.

My mother needed her home tented so about two weeks ago I called Kamaaina Termite Co. They sent our their estimator Sean the very next day. Sean followed
up with me the following and he went over what they would be doing to complete the tenting. I agreed and we set a date for the following week. The supervisor and his crew showed up on the scheduled day and time. We were back in our home the following day by 3:30. Sean had supplied us with bags for us to bag any food or medicines that we already opened… Canned goods were fine. He said anything that we would put in our mouth. It was very simple and painless with very little effort on our part. Everyone thinks… Yikes Termite Tenting… So much work and hassles!!!
That was not the case using Kamaaina Termite Company.
Everyone was very friendly and very professional. I only regret not remembering all their names as they great! Thank you Mike and your most professional, knowledgeable and courtesy crew. The job was done fast and efficiently.

I did ground treatment with them in 2011. I called them recently for an estimate to termite tent my house. They had my records and contact info. They said they would call me back… no call was returned.
U r better off with Oahu Termite… They actually will crawl into your attic to inspect.

BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL when dealing with this company. I called TWICE and spoke to the same person on the phone and CLEARLY explained what my needs were with the services. External flea and tick control.
She quoted me $ 500 a year for quarterly service. She said they would come out to do an initial treatment and then come back 2 weeks later to follow up and then resume the regular quarterly service. At the time I THOUGHT i set this up, I give her my CC info so I don’t have to worry about a missed payment.
They NEVER charged my card. I called them when I got the invoice in the mail. I go over the whole CC info thing AGAIN. It’s now over a month later. I call them again to make sure my bill was taken care of. NO, it isn’t.
I ask why I never go the follow up treatment. I was then told that in the notes of my account that what I GOT was GENERAL treatment, not flea/​tick treatment. I AM LIVID!!!
She told me flea and tick treatment is $ 300 per service. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
What kind of show are they running? I told her to charge my card right now for the amount I owe and cancel everything that was supposedly set up.
I am extremely upset to the point that I didn’t even bother with talking to a manager. Especially since the person I was ORIGINALLY talking to was a manager to begin with.
You would think you could trust a company with a local name. I should’ve just called Orkin.
P. S. Although our F/​T problem is still there, it’s not as bad as it was pre-​service.
No doubt that the supposed «general» service may have worked somewhat. The point of this entire situation is that their communication is extremely poor and learn from my mistake, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING.
