Okay but just not feeling it. I had the Ramen Hiyashi(it is supposed to be HIYASHI ramen but we are not in Japan). The noodles were real ramen noodles and I have to congratulate the on getting a nice texture on something that was cooked hours before and put in a fridge. That is the hardest part of cold noodles. Where could use improvement is on the amount of sauce. There was not enough to cover the all of the noodles. The cucumbers and ham were fine. The eggs were about matter. They used prepackaged«tamago» used for sushi from Japan. This is too sweet for the application. I would have used fresh eggs. Just because it is from Japan doesn’t make it better. Also some beni shoga(red ginger strips) would have helped balance this out. Since there were signs with the menu in Japanese, I would recommend they seriously consider my suggestions. I would have been less disappointed if this were just another local place doing their take on Japanese food. Not terrible but falling short in areas completely fixable.

Place rating: 5 Honolulu, HI
This store is located in the back of the 1102 Bishop St. building at the corner of Bishop Street and Hotel Street in Downtown Honolulu. A red color kiosk across Walgreens and next to Donuts shop, previously Hula Dog. It looks they just opened and carries selected mini menu from their restaurant, Kaka’ako Foods across Bishop Street. Although the area is not great with some homeless people, it is okay during the day time, given it is Downtown. Their mini menu looked good and I had M5 California pack. It came with 4 pieces of brown rice California rolls along with lots of spinach, carrots and boiled egg with tasty salad dressing. With the current promotion, the price I got was $ 5.00 including tax. It appears that they have more grand opening promotions, such as daily discounts and get $ 10 gift certificate by collecting 5 stamps. It also looked HPU and Remington College students get $ 1.00 off by presenting a valid ID. Since the price range is $ 4 to $ 5 per meal, $ 1.00 off discount sounds great(although I did not get this discount since I do not have ID from those school). The cashier told me that they will be expanding the number of menu items based on feedback from customers over the coming month. They told me that Avocado BLT Mini would be the first one to be added soon. Their food is neatly prepackaged and clean for grab’n go. Although there is no seating at the kiosk, the cashier told me that we can grab seating at outside food court that is located underground of Remington College Building across Bishop Street where there is their main store, Kaka’ako Foods. Good deal!
