Island Sole – Outrigger Waikiki

I dropped in because there was a canvas bag that caught my eye, and I’m always on the lookout for bags that are multipurpose! (groceries, yoga, beach, etc). I got one for myself and one for my friend who was house-​sitting for my parents.
Before I paid, my mom came running in and said she might have a coupon for the store. The sales associate said there wasn’t one he knew of, but he said if I checked in on Unilocal,he could apply a 5% discount! I accidentally had my WiFi off so I went over my data and told him I’ll have to turn on my phone data (since I turned it off) and he was nice enough to give me the discount anyway. I still eventually checked in because of great customer service!
My mom also found some flip flops she wanted after my purchase and he again applied the 5% discount for her.

good, and great selection. not ‘cheap’ but my arches were killing me so I bought 2 pairs of nice slippers here and i wear them all the time! I would not hesitate to go back and shop here!!!

I have been into this store many time to purchase my sanuk sandals but after today never again. I walked in today with a friend to purchase myself some sandals for my birthday. We had just had lunch and received a take home box but no bag so we asked the cashier if we could have a bag for our food. She gave us the most ugly eye roll I’ve ever seen as she proceeded to grab a bag and hold it out to us as if we were such an incredible annoyance to her. We said thank you and she ignored us, we walked to the back of the store to pick out my sandals. My friend turned around and two employees were staring at us and laughing. I guess at some joke we were not privy to. Only when I brought my sandals up to the register and gave her my Hawaii ID with my card did her attitude change towards me. I have never felt so disrespected at a place that deals in customer service. If I didn’t like sanuk sandals so much and really need a new pair I would have walked out without purchasing anything. Needless to say I won’t be going back to this location. The employees name was Mailene. While I understand everyone has bad days, when you work in customer service your job is to treat customers as if you appreciate their business. I am not one to complain about customer service. But this encounter today had me and my friend both extremely offended and upset.

Service was excellent. Chasing was very helpful. He educated us on the proper size of sandals and how to make sure we get the correct for. He started conversation to get to know. Customer service was definitely 5 stars.

Great place for some of the best flip-​flop selections I have seen. My wife and I ended up buying a pair at the Pacific location near the Marriott Waikiki (which by the way the gentleman helping us was great)! However, we later found a coupon through Unilocal later for 5% off entire purchase. We then went into the Outrigger location and asked if we could get an adjustment for our purchase (approx 15 min later, same day ⁵⁄₁₉). The sale girl that worked that day said she would be able to make the adjustment if I checked in and wrote a review to approve. Our friends were also there to buy the shoes and flip flops and after they decided to purchase the sale girl recanted and would not make the adjustment for me. Because of this experience, I will not buy from Island Sole for my next pair.
If you are planning to buy, think twice as you can buy the same for less elsewhere.

Nice selection but lacking in customer service. We purchased from pacific beach location and he did not give us the Unilocal check-​in discount. The girl here said she would correct the mistake and refund our discount if we wrote a review so we did and then after ringing up our friends she recanted and said she was unable to refund us. Disappointing service.

Great experience buying flip flops at last minute. Sales lady very attentive, helpful and knowledgable. Was able to find a perfect pair of sandals. A huge variety to choose from. They carry all labels. Prices are not outrageous. They have a great return policy and guarantee.

Loved shopping at this store yesterday! If you’re in the Waikiki area and are looking for some hospitality while trying on shoes, please stop here! We had an awesome store associate by the name of Floyd. He was hands down the best help we’ve ever had a shoe store! We walked away with buying 4 pairs. This is a great place, filled with slippers and sandals of a wide range of brands, styles, colors, materials, etc., tended by a warm, friendly, patient, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. The prices are comparable to most other places in the area. (Although if you’re going for the Island Slippers brand, the dedicated store in the Royal Hawaiian Center will save you $ 10 or so over most other places, at least that I noticed.) In general, I thought this was a great buying experience.

Stopped by Island Sole while strolling through Waikiki and found my new favorite flip flops — Olukai! Absolutely love the wetsuit soles and the arch support. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop in when you are in town — you’ll find something you love.

Sanuk runs one of the best shops on the Waikiki strip. There’s always a selection of shoes on sale and more important, there is always a very knowledgeable (and sweet) sales rep to assist with sizing and advice.
I’ve brought all our guests to this shop and I’d say at least eight of them bought shoes here. This store stocks several styles unique to Hawaii, and even if you aren’t looking for an island memento, you can still find a comfortable slipper.
Personally, I don’t think anyone should be on this island without at least one pair of yoga mat slippers. I buy a new pair every year. It’s like having slippers made out of Batman!

My husband bought his first pair of Sanuk’s in Kuaui 10 years ago, and since it’s still going strong, when I saw this store I jumped at the chance to get myself some Sanuks!
This store has such a large selection. I found two pairs of flip flops for myself, and one for my mother-​in-​law. LOVE my new Sanuks, and now I know my feet don’t have to be uncomfortable in flip flops. On our last vacation, I also slipped and fell (with my son in my arms) wearing some cheaper flip flops, so I’m willing to pay a higher price for quality.

When you walk in you definately the Sanuk vibe, whatever that might be. Staff are young, cute, and vibrant! They always have plenty of sizes and sometimes they have cute Sanuk Sponsered signings. :)

Sanuk means «fun and happiness» in Thai. Service here, however, is hit or miss, which is a shame since the (handmade) sandals (not shoes — shoe upper, sandal bottom!) are cute and comfy.
Also, it’s too bad that the shop is not fully stocked with more sandals in sizes 6 and 7 or I would have walked out with more than one pair (this pair was not even my first, second, or fifth choice, but more like my sixth, since the other patterns I preferred were not available in my size). This alone cost the shop one full star.
P. S. Just checked the Sanuk website — sandals are a couple dollars cheaper online than at the store! WTH! But I guess I did save on shipping costs. also, it’s best to try on the sandals before purchasing… each sandal fits differently because they are handmade.
