Island Realtors

I’ve honestly not have had a bad experience with Island Realtors. Jan Kim, was actually the reason why I moved in my current apartment. I’ve lived on Alapai #403, for almost 2 years now.

As a legal professional, I am often looking for realtor referrals for my clients who will be either selling their homes and/​or looking for new ones. In Hawaii, I often joke that just about every person I meet is either related to a realtor or friends with one. Thus it is important that if I make a referral for one of my valuable clients, I want them to be treated well. Every client whom I have sent to Island has come back to me with a positive experience. Scott Fujiwara and his team have taken excellent care of my referrals, to the extent that I have no hesitation in sending more.

like the other people have said, jan kim is the WORST realtor! i have never experienced someone so rude as her. she made moving out the most difficult thing ever. when i told her i wanted to move out early she made me find the new tenant! then when i found someone she took 2 weeks to get through her paperwork, never called me back when she said she would and blew me off everytime. and then she ends up not approving the person i had found! she needs a lesson in how to properly communicate with people without being a rude ass person. island realtors and jan kim are the worst period.

Working with Scott Fujiwara, I was able to move out of my Kapolei address, and resolve all issues without fail. I would recommend this company if you decide to rent in Hawaii. Island Realtor’s communication is top notch as Scott has kept in contact with me to correct any or all issues I have had. This is the type of company you want to look for in Hawaii, they make the ALOHA real.

I would give 0 stars but Unilocal requires at least one.
This is the absolute worst realty company we have ever had to deal with. The landlady Clara Yokoyama is completely rude, 100% not helpful and a bold face liar. She denies 7 years of public record police reports filed. These reports are complaints from previous tenants about the neighbor at 1715. Clara treated my roommates and I like children the entire time we lived in the house, and we’re all upper 20’s & 30’s.
Not to mention, it took her 6 weeks to give us our deposits back. Which i believe is illegal. She is not on the side of her tenant and will not protect you.
If the police come to your residence on 1721 Young street because the neighbor complained about noise and they ask if you want to file harassment charges against the evil angry old lady going through menopause (the neighbor at 1715 Young st apartments), do it!
Also, our electrical never got fixed like she told us it would when we moved in and did the walk through. We had to keep a lamp, (pretty sure that’s not code) in the bathroom for a light. The toilets were always running, another thing that she said she would fix and never did.
Our stay on Young street was a year long nightmare.

Jan Kim is the most unprofessional realtor I’ve ever met and experienced. Not only was she clueless about the property we were seeing, but she gave us inaccurate information about it as well. It was only when we inquired the landowner/​mangers ourselves were we able to find out the FACTS.
Horrible with phone calls and following up. It took over a week just to get a response from her through the phone and it was because I called, AGAIN! What a complete waste of my time…

Island Realtors put me to so much just to get responses. Every phone call would require 5 additional phone calls just to get a response.
I do cut them some slack by giving them 2 stars instead of 1, and the reason is because the person incharge of the home I was trying to rent was unavailable.
So the people I worked with over there:
1. Justin Ohama. He showed me the place. He was very unknowledgeable about the property. He couldn’t answer nearly every question I had for him. I paid him $ 20 dollars for my application fee since we had two adult applicants.
2. Jenalyn T. Fujiwara. She was the person I was instructed to communicate with by Justin Ohama. She was very delinquent in her phone calls. I had to call her 5 times before even maybe expecting a returned phone call. Toward the end, I did find out that she did answer emails more punctually.
Unfortunately I didn’t get the apartment, and you may think I’m negatively reviewing these guys because I didn’t get the apartment, but that’s simply not true. The service was horrible. I’m sure it wasn’t directly Justin or Jenalyn’s fault, and instead it was a delinquency on their company. They don’t have a plan of action to take when one of their employees are unavailable.
Overall, I had a horrible experience with these guys. It took nearly 3 weeks to hear a response from these folks from the time I had applied. From my experience, that’s really long.

My dad referred me to one of his friends who is a partner here when I was looking to buy a condo. My whole experience with buying a first home was exciting and not too stressful thanks to Cindy. I could tell that she was one of the best realtors on the island after my first meeting with her.
She set up appointments with me for a wide variety of condos, even though she knew what characteristics I was looking for. She wanted me to get a little exposure to everything and I thought it was very helpful. I was always given a packet of information to keep for review for all the places I visited.
When I was unable to deliver paperwork to the bank, she always offered to do it for me. She reminded me of upcoming deadlines in case I forgot. She was very easy to talk to during commutes about life in general. If I had any questions about filling out forms or a particular unit, she would always help me out or make calls to the necessary people in order to get an answer. Little things like that all added to my positive experience.
I referred my coworkers to her and they both agreed that she was excellent to work with. I would definitely like to work with her again for any real estate buying or selling.
