Waikiki Health

My mom (who speaks limited English) was told by the front desk person at the Dental Clinic in Moiliili that all of her services were covered. She received a bill later on, so apparently not all of the services are covered.
So I thought I would just speak to them in a reasonable manner. I called the Patient Coordinator at the Ohua Clinic and she said she would see what she could do about it. Okay, totally understand. While we were in Waikiki one day, my mom wanted to stop in at the Ohua Clinic and see if there was anyone there who could help her.
We talked to a nice lady there who called the woman from the Moiliili Clinic, who proceeded to totally LIE to me and said that my mother had come by five times, and that they had explained it to her as many times. Seriously?!? My mom has arthritis which she sees a PT for. She’s not physically capable of walking back and forth that many times.
As promised before someone at the Ohua Clinic said that they would call us back. Except for one call months ago from the Patient Coordinator asking a few basic questions, there has NEVER been any follow up.
Needless to say, that was my mothers FIRST and LAST appointment. She’s going back to her original dental clinic, which although WAY out of the way for her, offers MUCH better service.

Had a dental emergency when I broke a piece of my tooth off late at night. Called the dental clinic the next morning and Dr Dipasquale worked me into her schedule for that day. Knowing my phobia of dentists she was very calm and compassionate with me. She explained all my options and let me choose what felt right for me. She then proceeded to fix my tooth with a built up filling which will allow me to be protected until I can get the crown completed (which I will require). She went slowly and explained everything she was doing before she did it. She is a great dentist and makes me feel completely comfortable when i go there. I will be staying under her care!

Friendly and helpful staff! They have a lot of people in and out and they seem to really take the time to care. This place is for everyone, no matter your income or if you have insurance or not. This newer location is quite nice, clean and newly remodeled. My partner has been to the medical side and has always been treated very well. Denise is one our favorites and always takes care of us. I have been to the Dental side several times and had to come in for semi-​emergencies. Renee and Mark worked hard to accommodate me. Impressively, they are trained to work behind the desk and as assistants and are both very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I saw Dr. Depasquale, DDS and she treated me with kid gloves as I was terrified of the dentist office. She was so patient and kind and went over all options and truly listened to what I wanted as well as my concerns. I credit her with getting me over my fear of the dental chair. Even the shots she gave me were so well given that I could barely feel them. Her assistant is also very sweet and has taken very good care of me. If you live in the neighborhood, I would truly consider Waikiki Health. They really, really care.

The staff here from the MAs to the providers (NP Jane, Dr Sattlemacher (?), Dr Seabolt) are genuinely caring and skilled. They’re very compassionate and helpful! Even though I have good insurance and can see whoever doctor I want, I will always choose to go to waikiki Health or Planned Parenthood because I love supporting non profit organizations that genuinely care for the community. It’s really easy to get an appointment with them and I’m always seen on time. They have their own pharmacy so it’s a one stop shop. :)

Not a bad clinic. They really try to help. Avoid J. Luna. He’s rude and unprofessional.

I normally go to the Waikiki clinic, which I love very much, Michelle Scott and Joseph Luna are the best. I have always been treated with the upmost care and compassion there. Today I visited the makahini clinic as my doctor wasn’t in, so I was re-​routed here. It was horrible! The doctor was very unkind and treated me as someone just seeking medication, without even knowing my history or my medical condition… I left that place in tears, and I will never return. There is no need to treat your patients in such a way! Where is the care and compassion the mission statement claims!!! I’m sorry I ever went there! Please take my advise and go to the Original Waikiki health center, the staff there is much more caring and understanding and will take there time to listen to your needs, and health issues… Now I know why I was the only one in the waiting room!!! I hope one day they will take the time to listen rather than judge!

Everything is a 5 star. The staff at the front desk are welcoming and helpful. The clinic is very nice. I have never waited more than 15 minutes to be seen when I have an appointment. I have seen a variety of caregivers here. They are all wonderful and have treated me with respect. The only thing I do not like, is I have to get weighed every time! I already know that I am fat! LOL

So far, my experiences there have been great and fast in helping me look for a diagnosis… something I wasn’t used to. Haven’t had a good doctor help me as fast as the one im seeing now, so I’m pretty glad I bothered to go and get checked!

At first the clean and new facility seems to be so welcoming and professional. However, judging from the time it takes for a doctor to see you (20 minutes wait even after an appointment) to the scamming of patients by recommending extra treatments and procedures when none were needed to trying to set up future appointments without doing anything on the first visit, one gets the idea that the assistants and the doctors are pre-​programmed to extracting as much money as possible from the patient’s insurance company rather than focusing on treating the patients. Dr. Ly prefers to send patients to her business friends for getting second opinions to pad up bills. Stay away from them.

A Polite staff is there to help even when your having a bad day. They always call for appointment reminder/​confirmation a few days prior, The pricing is very good when you don’t have insurance or a good income.
After almost a year of dental work, 15 cavities, yes that’s right 15 repairs to my mouth. I can only say thank you Dr. Ly for your good work. Being from the east coast Dr Ly brings a higher work ethic that is missing throughout the Hawaiian islands.
I know if and when I need future pit stops to repair my smile. Dr. Ly along with her staff will be there to ensure I can eat, smile and live another day. I’ll continue to recommend WDC Moilili to those that can’t afford dental insurance or huge dental fees associated with common dentistry.
They have to enquire on your income to set there billing. It’s not a Cosmetic designer salon, it’s a publicly funded clinic to help those in need. Thank you gang. See you in a month for my cleaning. KB

I love this clinic from front desk staff tp Dental staff. I’ve been to many dental offices & this one ranks Top 3 Best of them all!

After the one negative review on Unilocal,I was a little apprehensive about going to this location. However I have long and regularly learned that everything on the internet is never always accurate :-)
I was unable to get an appointment at the closer Ohua location but very glad now how it worked out. Calling at 9am this morning, I was able to secure am 11am same day appointment. I’d had a blocked ear for over 4 days and it was starting to drive me a little crazy. So I REALLY appreciated just being able to be seen so soon (again: don’t EXPECT that!).
From start to a successful happy finish, I was VERY happy with my experiences here. The time flow wasn’t 100% perfect but I brought some magazines to read (and leave there). I appreciated the few minutes I waited as a nice break and time to read. It was evident too all the staff also took time with me to cover my history and my needs. The doctor (Natalie Anderson) was super nice, and empathetic as a surfer herself.
After they fixed my issue (won’t go into yucky details but YAH!), they suggested a brief chat with Angela to run over my health care insurance and HI Health Connector. So in all phases of the appointment, I found each team member friendly and going above and beyond. In short: a nice, polite, thorough, and efficient service.
I’ll return to use their dental services for sure ! Mahalo!

As a patient at their original clinic (the one on Ohua) I am shocked and saddened by the experience I just had with their new addition to the health center located on North King Street. I had a consultation for a missing tooth and let me just say that no matter what insurance I have (which is very good) their bed side manner was completely unprofessional. The first question out of the «Dentist» woman’s mouth was «how much money do you make?». Excuse me? Then she proceeded to look at the wrong tooth when I also complained about my Molar hurting. This place should be shut down for the way they treated me as well as the other Customers I observed while in the waiting room. This Dr. Lee woman should be fired and under investigation for talking to anyone like that– it was pure disrespect and she let it be known clear as day that they treat you like a price tag– and trust me, you cannot afford it. I’ve been to many Doctors and Dentists all over the country but this takes the cake for the absolute worst service I have ever received. Not a good look for an addition to what I considered to be a great clinic.
