With Gerry at the helm, this small blind vendors shop(located on the Ho’opono grounds), is a vibrant, welcoming, and fun place to grab a quick snack or a nice hot lunch. It isn’t the selection that makes this shop — you could find these snacks elsewhere — but the thing is, you would have to actually go somewhere else. What Gerry offers is convenience; what one also gets is the opportunity to meet and chat with a witty, kind, hard-working guy with a heart of gold. Although smaller than your neighborhood convenience store, the selection here covers all the bases. From a large array of soft drinks, to lattes, to sandwiches, salads, and plate lunches, to a nice stock of candies, chips, and other snacks, and even a good spread of frozen treats — there are items to fill both your belly and your soul. Seriously, chocolate is good for your soul, and Gerry has a lot of that! But like I said, just being in the shop and watching Gerry interact with his customers — the patience and hospitality he exhibits — that right there is better than chocolate. Wait… Did I say something is better than chocolate? That goes to show you how awesome Gerry is.

In fact, you need to pass the main Ho’opono Center for the Blind to get there. Here’s there review: If I’m in the area, and need something to eat, I will always try and support this shop. This shop is run by a partially blind man named Gerry, from New York. Food/Drinks: You can grab some snacks and lunch here. Smlilar to a 7 – 11, but in a smaller scale. A very smaller scale. Fruit, Ice Cream & Coffee are my usual favorites. Service: Never had a problem with Gerry. A true«Entrepreneur.» Atmosphere: There is a peaceful court yard with chairs & tables to use. Price: Reasonable for the convenience it offers. Parking: There is one dedicated marked parking stall, and also street parking when available, but don’t count on it.
