I’ve had two pairs of shoes repaired here and I’ve had a good experience both times. Granted, it was an easy repair(repairing the heels on high heels) but they are relatively cheap($ 8 for what I got done) and they are fairly quick. The store itself is cramped and is half shoe repair store, half jewelry store which is a little odd. I assume parking can be difficult, but you can always park at the old Safeway across the street and walk over. Only complaint I have is that you have to pay upfront, which I was very weary about the first time, but having been there twice with good results, I’m ok with it now.

Holiday Shoe & Luggage Repair has been hit or miss. In my experience, they are fine if you have a repair that doesn’t require much finesse so that the general appearance of the finished result doesn’t matter. On one occasion, I brought in a pair of leather slip-on dress shoes in which the stitching was starting to come out. It was a simple repair: just re-sew the stitching. The finished result was awful – it looked like a child had done the work.(Perhaps that was the case, it’s a family business, so who knows?) The stitching was so sloppy that I refused to wear the shoes after that. Ugh. On another occasion, I needed a strip of velcro fabric tape sewn onto something, and it really didn’t matter how it looked, it simply needed to fasten. In this case, they did a good job and the stitching even looked nice. In both cases, the price wasn’t cheap. The folks who run the place are not particularly friendly. It’s a matter of «State your business, then get out, you’re interrupting my show.» Sheesh… Unilocal 365 Challenege #032/365

I purchased a new pair of shoes and wanted to blacken the suede areas on the shoe. It was meticulous work and the coloring would have taken a lot of precision. They did a wonderful job and the attention to detail was as amazing as I had imagined it to be. Recommending their services to anyone looking for customized detail.
