Loved this place found my new place to do my nails! Kathy is amazing she takes her time everyone is very friendly! This is my nail spot!

I have gone to Golden Nails the last two times I’ve had my nails done. I don’t do anything fancy or over the top, just a gel manicure. The one thing I love about this establishment is the pricing. Compared to previous nail salons I have been to, Golden Nails’ prices are the most reasonable with better service and quality. The only down side is that parking is limited, but I’ve gotten lucky both times. The salon is normally almost filled. I made an appointment the same day I planned on visiting. On my first visit, Mary did my nails. One of my pet peeves is when the nail technician does not paint my whole nail and I see that streak of bare nails on the sides. This didn’t happen with Mary so on my second visit, I requested for her. I arrived early and she was still with a client, so one of the workers who had just finished her client called me over to get started on applying nail polish remover and the foils. I thought, brownie points. This time, I wanted something different so I opted for the almond shape since I have always had squoval nails. Mary delivered and I’m very, very happy with the outcome. Like I said, I don’t opt for anything fancy, but for the price and service, I will continue to go back.

I love Golden Nails! I’ve been coming here for about 3 months now and it has become my go-​to nail joint. I’ve tried many nail places but Golden Nails blows them all out of the water. The place is very easy to find with easy parking. The facility is so clean and organized. Even their bathroom is super clean! I’ve seen a few nail techs there and have yet to be disappointed by anyone. Most of the time I see Kathy and she is amazing. She’s always so patient with me and takes her time to make sure I am happy. She’s always in good spirits and can make great suggestions whenever I can’t decide on a color. She always gets my stiletto shape just right and she knows I don’t like my acrylic too thick. I like that she pays attention to detail. Some others I’ve seen include Kim, Hoai, and recently Lisa. All are equally amazing. I seriously have not had one bad experience here. I recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a really good nail place. I always get compliments whenever I get my nails done even when they are at 2 or 3 weeks and in need of a fill. They always ask where I get them done at and of course I always say, «Golden Nails!» Come here and you will have no regrets. Great friendly staff, awesome service, reasonably priced, and very clean.

This review is based on my experience with Cathy today. I did a full set of coffin shaped nails with gel polish and decal overlay.
The atmosphere is much like any standard nail salon-​makeshift designs on the walls, décor driven by the 90’s etc and there’s parking right out front which I didn’t have a problem with as I had an early (10am) appointment.
Cathy greeted me promptly and warmly and was very understanding of what I wanted to do, and although she had never applied nail decals she was eager to try!
Cathy was very meticulous in the shaping of each of my nails which I absolutely love-​however does multi task: accepting phone calls & working on a minor nail repair for another client, but it did not bother me because she would excuse herself or continue working meticulously.
Again this review is based off of my individual experience with my nail technician Cathy & I would highly recommend her because my nails look absolutely gorgeous!

So pleased with my service here at Golden Nails! It was my first time and I went with a girlfriend. I got a gel full set in the color Boston University and the coffin shape and it was so well done! My nail technician Kelly was sweet and made sure I was satisfied with my overall product. I got a simple solid color but I could tell there was effort put into making my nails slayyyyy. Thanks Kelly! Love it!

Came in yesterday for a gel manicure and pedicure. If you’re considering trying this place, make sure to call ahead of time because it’s kind of hard to walk in. They’re usually pretty busy.
The pedicure was honestly okay. I worked as a nail tech to put myself through college so I may be a little picky but there was a lot of cuticle that could have been removed. I ended up going home and redoing it :/​I hesitate to write this because she was very nice but it was just half assed… Trimmed a few nails, barely filed, did not even push my cuticles back! I was so confused! She just started cutting my cuticle right away without pushing the skin back. Then she used the cuticle pusher to scrape under 2 – 3 nails then scraped the side of 2 – 3 nails… honestly just sad how much cuticle I ended cutting at home.
The gel manicure was not that much better in terms of cuticle care. I basically almost didn’t have a Manicure. It was pretty much a polish change… The gel application was nice, neat, and most importantly even. I got a simple design which seemed nice until today. It started peeling off! After less than 24 hours! I called and the owner told me to come in tomorrow morning and he’ll fix it which is why I’m giving it a 3 instead of 2.
I wanted to love it. I really did. Nice atmosphere, nice people. But for $ 65 dollars, my cuticles on all 10 fingers and 10 toes should be cut and filed and the polish shouldn’t peel after a day. I haven’t even done anything with my hands like wash dishes or anything.

I love my nails! I have gone to several nail salons and my nails always lasted around 2.5 weeks before separating/​pulling up by my cuticles. But when I got them done here, they lasted for over a month and they’re still on. My nails grew quite a bit though so I seriously need to get a fill going back tomorrow morning.

Oh crap! I’m having a nail emergency and my nail tech is on vacation for three weeks!!! Wtf is a girl to do? Duh! Bust out my phone and see what’s being Unilocaled. With all the great reviews for this place, I expected a lot. Was it a home run? Uhhh no. Lemme break it down.
The day before our little field trip into the heart of Kalihi, my sister and I booked the first appointment for the following day. Great! Arrived ten minutes early, got the best parking stall in the lot. Awesome! Checked in with breakfast in our hands (lol we were told we could eat while getting our pedis) and we were seated right away. Chee! Everyone was friendly AF and we were having a good time already. One of the workers even got me ketchup from their break room! Two thumps way up! Annnnnnnnd then we start venturing into murky water…
*Nail tech snipped some skin while cleaning my toes.
*Had to have him remove the design he did on toes… looked like Kindergarteners could’ve done it
*Got burned when getting a gel polish manicure by the lamp… when I told my tech about it, he brushed it off and said its bc the polish got on my skin… no apology, nothing to fix the problem… just told to deal with it, pretty much
*No hand massage after manicure
*Gel polish seriously bumpy and uneven on almost all of my talons
*Polish Police were called three days later bc my mani started peeling
Am I over-​reacting? Too princessy? I think not, Bishhhh! OutForevuhhhh… return, I shall not.

This is my 4^th time coming here. I love it. Today tony worked on my nails and he did an AMAZING job. I’m in love with my nails

I give this place 5 stars because of Kathy & Hoai.
Nothing but great service and you get what you pay for.
Which I must add in, this place is very reasonably priced. I’ve been coming here for a few months now and after a situation that left me second guessing this place Hoai & Kathy both took care of me and that definitely made me wanna return. Just got my nails done today and I’m a very happy customer. Thanks Kathy!

My sister and I went to this nail salon for the first time after reading the positive reviews on Unilocal.Got a gorgeous shellac color to replace my acrylic nails. So Cathy was wonderful with removing gently my old acrylic and she painted my natural nails a gorgeous pink w a sparkle accent. My sister got her shellac too by Rose who was wonderful as well. The staff rocks the shop is clean and has parking yay! Love it very affordable my acrylic removal and shallac was $ 36 total great deal! Also she kept the length I wanted w my natural nails thanks so much Cathy and Rose!

I really should get my nails done more often but I usually allow myself to pampering on special occasions. This time, I went to do it for my birthday. I decided to go on a Monday night and called in that day to see if they had any availability and they were able to squeeze me in for after work that day around 530pm.
I was able to get parking in front and got there around my appointment time. I had to wait maybe about 10 minutes for a nail tech to be available since I didn’t have a specified one I had ask for. I had the pleasure of having Mary as my nail tech that day. Although I barely could understand her clearly because of the language barrier, she was able to cater to my needs in what I was looking for in doing my nails.
I did a manicure and pedicure combo. I previously had gel nail polish that had to be removed so she used acetone and covered each nail with foil so it’s easier to peel off after it soaks. I learned something new! Now i know that’s what I’ll do next time I want to remove my gel nail polish. I really admired one of the Unilocal pictures posted by Hoai where he did pink polka dots and stripes. I asked her if she could replicated it and she said yes!
I really loved the turn out of my nails. She didn’t do it exactly as picture but she recommended that instead of using 3D art, use a rhinestone instead which would be a little cheaper and more durable for someone like me who uses my hands all day typing in the office. Which I totally agreed to because I wanted a simpler look anyways. She was really patient and took her time with my nails to perfect it the way I wanted it. She was the last nail tech to leave that day and I appreciated her for not rushing and staying past closing to finish up my nails. If I were you, I would pay the extra dollars for Gel Nails. It’s worth it! It lasts much longer! It’s been a month and I still no chip in any of my nails.
She also did a great job on my pedicure as well. Even though I just got a basic pedicure treatment, she did awesome in massaging my feet for an extra relaxation. I didn’t know what I want to get for my nails so I looked through the variety of picture book samples of nails. I told her I wanted french tip and a flower from one of the samples. She was able to recreate it again and it turned out pretty. They keep it really tidy and clean here which makes me feel comfortable whenever I come here. Definitely my go to salon!

Broke a nail and didn’t have time to get it fixed before I traveled to Hawaii so I searched Unilocal for a good salon. I hate cheating on my nail girl, but it needed to be done. Hope she forgives me
The ratings and reviews really brought me here, it’s pretty impressive. And I can’t say I don’t agree. The level of service really matched up with the ratings. They are super friendly and accommodated me right away without an appointment. The shop is clean and tidy. They must have great ventilation because it smells so fresh in here.
They have a small parking lot in front of the building which is super convenient because the streets here are so narrow, the idea of street parking gives me anxiety.
I got a fill, fixed my broken nail and design for $ 45
My mom and aunt got a shellac mani and the royal pedicure for $ 49 each.
They really took their time doing all of the services, which we highly appreciated the attention to detail and our comfort. If you’re looking for a good place to get your nails done look for the peach building come to Golden Nails.

First time here and I’m glad I made an appt. I walked in and it was a full house. There was some kind of misunderstanding when we made the appt– basically, she thought I only wanted a manicure but I actually needed a full-​set.
(They only have 3 techs) All the techs were busy, and it was close to my appt time. I came a little earlier, and they took me right on time. At first I thought she rushed the entire thing… It only took about 10 minutes to slap on the nails. Didn’t get to paint them right away because she had to accommodate two other people. So I went to do my pedi, then when I finished she finally got to painting my nails. There, she apologized for the long wait and misunderstanding. She explained to me how important customer satisfaction was to her which I totally appreciated. I was very amazed at how I came from being totally annoyed to extremely satisfied lol. Most def coming back.

A bit of a late review but this place was great! Came here with my mom and we got the deluxe package. It was awesome, my nail tech was nice and gentle and took her time doing everything. Friendly too. The only thing, we got gel nails and one of the nails was gelled off with a piece of hair and I didn’t notice until I got home. You can barely see it thought so it’s fine.
Over all great experience, maybe just a little more careful next time

I was on Unilocal searching for nail salons, and I came across this 5 star location.
I figure, why not try something new and different as opposed to the «usual» salons I go to in the area. I arrived and parking was not a hassle. There were about maybe 8ish stalls fronting the building. Though I do would like to mention… parking can be pretty tight, even with a small car. I walked in around 3pm, and surprisingly the salon was not crowded on a Saturday afternoon. I was immediately greeted by the man (I’m assuming he’s the owner) and the other employees. My immediate thoughts were… Wow, this place is very clean and had extremely good upkeep. Furniture was pretty modern also and it was spacious and the AC temperature was just right.
The man seated me, and someone got to me shortly. My usual is just a manicure with gelish nails with maybe a design or two. Haylen (sp?) did my nails and she was phenomenol!!! She took her time in doing my manicure and you could tell that her quality of work was just superb. She even gave me a hand massage after and that was very relaxing. (Most places I’ve been to don’t normally include massages so this is a major plus). I showed her some nail designs that I was interested in, and she helped me to combine several ideas together. The salon also has several books of designs that have been previously done for more choices. Haylen was very accommodating to what I wanted, and she was also very friendly in carrying a conversation with me (Sadly, I’m used to salons where the employees speak in different languages and they don’t really engage in conversation with you).
I have to say, this salon is officially my new favorite and hopefully I’ll be a regular soon. The location is convenient, the employees and owner are very friendly and professional, and most importantly they are very skilled at what they do. For now I can only speak for nails, but maybe I’ll be back for a pedicure and haircut/​styling in the future.

I went there today and have to say it was great. I didn’t have a appointment but they saw me real quick. I was in a hurry for a manicure because I had to pick son up in a hour and they got it done. Very professional and nice.
I have real nails and just needed a shellac manicure. I got a nice white blended one and I love it.
Definitely will go back.

I have found my spot! SO STOKED!!! I’ve been back home on Oahu since September, my place in Cali was bomb & I was starting to lose hope that I’d ever find a nail place that knew what they were doing, check my other reviews, I’ve been around.
After spending $ 80 on the worst set of my life, less than a week later they were peeling off and looked HORRIBLE. So one morning on a whim I Unilocaled nails & this came up first. It was a little before 9 (when they opened) so I called, they said I could come in. All I want is coffin nails. No one could figure that out, until golden nails. Lynn (I think?! I can’t find the card! :’() worked magic. I got my beautiful coffin nails. Soooo many compliments!
Needed a fill, went back today (with an appt, they’re busy people!) and saw a man, didn’t catch his name but he did fabulous job too. I’m so happy. I found my place. I’m home

I had the sudden urge to want to get my nails done today, so I checked Unilocal to see where was a salon near by with good reviews. I stumbled upon Golden Nails. I immediately called to get an appointment and was given one at 2PM.
My appointment was with Hoai and he was very prompt as he had just gotten to the salon. From the first moment I met him, he was nice, explained to me the difference between acrylic and gel powders, and made small talk with me. As I explained to him the shape and design I wanted, I noticed that he did an amazing job with the details and listened to exactly what I wanted. He was pretty quick, especially since mine was simple but he did a great job!
I have never been more pleased with my nails and now I have a new «go-​to.» He’ll be seeing me in two weeks for a fill ;)
