Picture a place where you can order a juicy burger, fries with homemade dipping sauces, milkshakes made from our favorite cereals from yesteryear– all while old school LL Cool J plays in the background. Enter heaven, erm, Franky Fresh, a place that’s somewhat reminiscent of café 80s from Back to the Future. Are you sold yet? If not, maybe the quick, efficient service, the German beer hall-style seating or the fact that you can bring your favorite six pack in to wash down your burgers and fries closes the deal. Ghetto blasters adorn the wall and funky beats make this a one of a kind, absolutely fun place to dine. Turn your headphones up, and make a point to check out Franky Fresh.

I really didn’t want to give this place two stars, but here I am. I tried multiple things, from the burgers to the fries to the shakes. All were okay, but on both occasions I’ve come here, I didn’t feel too good after. Maybe I just have a weak stomach? I know that it’s a burger joint, but the food was just so heavy and greasy that I don’t think I’ll be back. I really wanted to like this place, I did.

OMG, their milkshakes are to die for! Had the Cinnamon toast crunch milkshake and boy was it heaven on my tastebuds! A bit pricey but the best milkshake I’ve ever had at $ 7.25 a piece! Had the Fresh Prince burger which is like having a mushroom burger and it wasn’t too bad. Will be coming back for the milkshakes and to try other burgers! You can ask for homemade dipping sauces for your fries or to go along with your burger. Choices from wasabi aioli, garlic aioli, sirracha mayo, and some others. Service was nice and easy. Décor representing the 80’s with cassette stereos decorating the walls, and 80’s pop music videos on screen. Overall a good experience! Must must must try one of their cereal milkshakes! Service is just what you need, not too much and not too little.

1. VERDICT/VALUE A time warp in Honolulu? Yes — let Franky Fresh take you to the 90’s with fantastic burgers and cereal-based milkshakes… but it’ll cost you! Try this place at least once when you are in town :) 2. FOOD Keeping with the retro theme, every meal here starts with menus printed on actual vinyl records. No regular milkshakes can be found here — you choose your cereal(Cap’n Crunch, Resse’s Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or Coco Puffs) which will set you back $ 7.49 and for $ 1 more, add chocolate fudge, peanut butter, or caramel. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch with caramel(waitress’ recommendation) works out just fine :) On this night, we started with The Fresh Prince($ 14.95): Paniolo beef, portobello mushrooms, bacon, Swiss cheese, grilled onions and house sauce. Bacon makes anything tastes good and this burger did not disappoint with its juiciness and taste. The buns are toasted here and ours happened to be a little over-burnt. You get a choice of fries or salad with your burger and we chose to go with the fries on this one, which are pretty good, but you only get a small cupful of them. You can get ketchup, or for $ 1 more per sauce, you can get chipotle mayo or spicy ketchup(both of which are decent). On the waitress’ recommendation, we also tried the The Marky Mark($ 14.95): Ground lamb patty, roasted mini bell peppers and tomatoes, onions, Feta cheese, olives, lettuce, spicy aioli and tzatziki. We chose to go with the salad on this one, which I highly recommend — assorted greens with a light sauce. The burger itself was was good and the veggies were a good compliment to the lamb. A friend tried the Garlic Cheesy Bread($ 5.95) which I recommend from a taste and portion perspective — melted cheese and garlic on toasted French bread works out pretty well! Overall, you’re here for the unique milkshakes and the burgers; however, the burger plates feel small for the price. 3. SERVICE It was good from the start; we didn’t have to wait long for a table(your mileage may vary because this place gets busy), but our food didn’t take too long and our waitress was always coming by to check on things. 4. ATMOSPHERE It’s a cozy eclectic environment — if you’re not admiring the boomboxes and pictures from the 80’s and 90’s, then you’re listening to and watching the old school music videos on the many big screens around this joint. Bar seating is available; interestingly, the men’s restroom is close by while the women’s restroom is in the restaurant next door. There’s very limited parking out front so the best parking may be found in the paid lot across the street.

We stepped foot into this place and it was flashback to the 80’s. The décor is of 80’s rap and hip hop stars, including a cassette tape radio player that was popular back in the day. We heard songs from Easy E, Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, and Salt N Pepa. Even their menu items are named after 80’s and 90’s icons. We got there about 5pm on a Saturday night. Luckily for us, there was an open parking space right in front of the restaurant, so we pulled in. There’s no hostess at the door since it’s open seating. I scanned the restaurant and four tables were open. We plopped ourselves down on one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant. The restaurant is small and doesn’t seat too many people. Their menus are glued to turn table hip hop records. I flipped my menu over and it was a Skee-Lo record. We looked over the menu and decided on the Captain Crunch Shake, Garlic Cheesy Bread, Old School Burger, and The Heavy D Sandwich. I really liked the Captain Crunch Shake. It was made with Captain Crunch Berry cereal, blended with vanilla ice cream. The shake was smooth and creamy, and not too overly sweet. They used to serve it in mason jars. To my disappointment, it is now served in plastic take out cups. The Garlic Cheesy Bread was the bomb. There were two huge pieces of toasted bread with melted mozzarella and cheddar on it. It was a gooey goodness. I noticed that the bread had garlic aioli sauce on it. No wonder it tasted so good. Their burgers are all natural beef from the Big Island. Paniolo beef, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and Franky Fresh sauce on the Old School Burger. The burger was cooked to perfection with a little pink in the middle. I enjoyed the burger. The burger comes with either a green salad or french fries. I wanted the french fries. It arrived with no dipping sauces so I had to ask the server for a side of ketchup. The Heavy D sandwich included fried chicken tenders w/buffalo sauce, fries, mozzarella cheese sticks, beer battered onion rings, jalapeños, honey bbq sauce, and blue cheese. It was quite a combo and on the spicier side. Three chicken tenders and two cheese sticks were alternated on the sandwich. The sandwich was gigantic. Overall, it was a fun dining experience. My eight year old got to experience some old school music. I was amazed that he knew who some of the artists were. If you have a young child, do not give them the milkshakes. They will drink it all up and you will not get it back.

Franky Fresh is the«Straight Outta Compton» culinary project of Darien Provenza. The restaurant’s name, alone, evokes names like Doug E Fresh, N.W.A., Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg and Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. Not only is 80’s hip hop music played but you might hear other 80’s pop hits by Blondie, INXS, Guns n’ Roses and Prince. When you walk in, you’ll notice that restaurant walls are lined with 80’s boomboxes, street art, a poster of Fresh Prince(Will Smith), Run-D.M.C. and several other artists. Even the bar area reflects 80’s pop culture and lively life-style. We were here on a busy Friday evening which we fortunately reserved a table at 6:00PM. As luck would have it, we and our guests all managed to park in stalls right next to the restaurant. We liked that they used those«old vinyls», er, 33−1/3LP records as menu backs or covers. Hmm, was there a turntable somewhere around? Our table of 5 felt«special» as we had 2 attentive servers checking in on us as well as the owner, Darien Provenza, himself. THEFOOD: — The Fresh Prince: Paniolo beef, baby portobello mushrooms, bacon, melted Swiss, grilled onion and Franky Fresh sauce; served with shoestring French Fries– $ 14.95. The tender, flavorful and perfectly done(medium) burger patty with all of its toppings were encased in a toasted brioche bun. I noticed that the texture of brioche was soft yet still held up to all of the burger fixin’s and didn’t fall apart from the juiciness of the patty. My husband said that the had to mash it down a bit just to take a bite. But, the burger patty, itself was a bit on the small side even though it was thick. — The Marky Mark: Ground lamb & beef, roasted mini bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, Feta cheese, Kalamata onions, Romaine lettuce, spicy aioli and tzatziki — $ 14.95. The combination of lamb and beef suggested gyros meat but I didn’t detect any flavors of Rosemary or marjoram. However, this burger continued to hit the high note of Greek/Mediterranean food with its condiments… It was a perfect blend of garlickiness from the aioli and tzatziki and saltiness of Feta cheese and Kalamata olives. Again, this burger was served on a toasted or grilled brioche bun that held up well to the squishy sauces and grilled vegetables. I had to smash this burger a bit just to bite into it otherwise, I could wish to have double-hinged jaws like a snake. It was no wonder that Franky Fresh nailed this burger given that Darien Provenza is the son of the chef/owner of The Fat Greek restaurant. We requested our burgers to be served with French fries instead of a green salad. The fries were served hot, had a crisped exterior and a light(«fluffy» for lack of better verbiage) interior. A set of 6 dipping sauces were delivered to complement these crispy potato sticks. While we were dining, our servers kept check back with us and frequently refilled our water glasses. Found out that it’s BYOB, too late, but that’s ok. Our dining partners ordered FF’s famous milkshakes and agreed the milkshakes were the best they’ve ever had but instead of being served in mason jars, these milkshakes were served in clear plastic cups like what you’d see for Starbucks’ Frappuccinos. No matter, they were very happy with their shakes. Franky Fresh is a Happening Place and a great addition to the Kaimuki neighborhood. However, I thought it a bit overpriced for its portions and the crowded, shared(with 4 other restaurants) parking lot are causes for me to rate them with 3-stars. #524

Parking: They have a lot for parking and you can pay to park across the street. Food: They have some delicious things on the menu. I ordered the Fresh Prince, Heavy D, and Milk shake. The Fresh Prince burger was so so good and just full of flavor. That’s what I want to eat every time I stop at this place. The Heavy D was exactly what it sounds and I could only eat half before my arteries started clogging. It went well with the milk shake. It’s a good sandwich if you got some serious munchies. Service: It’s self seating and bar seating were you’re welcomed by friendly people when you walk in. The service was great and the food comes out fast. Overall: The decoration of the restaurant is pretty sweet and the music they play takes you back to better times. They also have a SNES in the corner that I wanted to take home.

So this is somewhere around a 2.5. The ambiance is nice and fresh. The servers were very friendly and prompt. And, the food was not bad. Everyone raves about the shakes. Now the flavor is good. I like the originality of using the different types of breakfast cereal in the shakes. But this is what I do not like. If you don’t drink the shake quickly, the cereal gets mushy. It’s like leaving your cereal in the milk too long. It ruins the constancy and integrity of the cereal. But the flavor is good. The MC Hammer sandwich is not bad. The meat is cooked well, but cheap meat is used which keeps the price point kind of low. The flavor is good, but I think a horseradish aioli would pair better with the beef than a wasabi aioli would. I also thought there was too much bread that was a little on the dense side. Finally, we had the Fresh Prince burger. This was a pretty good burger and arguably the third best burger(behind Sky Waikiki’s Perfect Cheeseburger & Wolfgang Steak’s Dry Aged Steak Hamburger). It is cooked well and has tons of flavors. The toppings match the burger well. I felt the price was a little high for such a small burger. The thing that turned me off the most was the kitchen’s denial to cut my burger in half. Are you serious? I am paying you to eat your burger and you deny my request to cut a burger in half to make it easier for me to eat. I was told(albeit politely) that our«kitchen does not want to cut the burger.» This tells me one of a few things: 1) You are too arrogant to cut the burger. 2) You do not believe in satisfying all of the customer’s requests(I was not asking them to rob a bank). 3) You are not trained properly to let the burger rest and by cutting it you will let all of the juices run out, thus making the burger bland and dry. Anyway, if you want a pretty good meal, that is expensive for the quality of the product, this is the place to do. I would rate the following: Flavor of Food — 4⁄5 Friendliness of Servers — 5⁄5 Kitchen — 1⁄5 Price Point 2⁄5 Parking 1⁄5 Originality — 4.5÷5

If you love burgers, grew up in the late 80’s and 90’s, and love listening to 97.1 then this is probably the place for you. What makes this place interesting is the ENVIRONMENT. It’s very retro. Boom boxes hanging on the walls, hip hop classic videos playing on their TVs, menu on a record, and a Super NES that you can play. This place is also kid friendly but I doubt the kids now days would appreciate it. When I took my son to play their Super NES, he constantly had this look on his face that said«why are the graphics so shitty». Also, just FYI, this place has no AC. We went during the summer when it was crazy hot. The BURGERS are good but in my opinion, fairly standard. The average price of the burgers range from 10 to 13 dollars which doesn’t include the additional extras that you can add. However, I do agree with majority of the people that claim their cereal milk shakes are killer. The price is around 7 dollars for the milk shakes which is slightly high but still affordable based on its quality. What’s not affordable is the amount of calories. I can’t say much about the SERVICE since we went at such a slow time but they were friendly and no mistakes were made within our time there. Overall, nice concept and would return again if PARKING wasn’t such a hassle here. The lot is small and it’s shared with other businesses.

This restaurant is pretty much all it’s hyped up to be. Located at the bottom of St. Louis heights by The Fat Greek and Sabrina’s, Franky Fresh pulls off the upper Kaimuki hipster wood-panel thing with an old school hip hop focus. Come early and fight over the 20 free stalls it shares with 4 other restaurants or park across the street for $ 5ish. Please allow me to preface this review with a warning: be prepared to feel fat and don’t be surprised if you feel your body love-hating you halfway through your meal. Menus put on actually vinyls scream BURGER and MILKSHAKE at you. Captain Crunch, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms… not sure who would think to make milkshakes out of every child’s dream cereal, but big thumbs up! Must must must have one when you go. Burger was pretty good — tasty, juicy, beautifully manufactured. The cooooolest though is getting fries and getting a bajillion different sauces. I liked the spicy ketchup out of what I had. There’s a lot of aioli going on so if you aren’t a fan, let your server know. Recommend to try out, but for the sake of your health, maybe don’t visit more than once a week haha.

I enjoy burger joints… I enjoy 90s themed hip hop and 90s nostalgia joints… put your hands together, and you’ve got Franky Fresh. The décor is minimalistic but entertaining, with old skool boomboxes adorning the walls and a Super Nintendo hookup near the bar, and hip hop videos playing on repeat. All good, high ranch style wooden tables and bar stools make for comfy seating to get down into your juicy ass burger. Burgers are mid to high priced but damned delicious and worth… I had the Fresh Prince, read the other reviews for the detailed description, but it’s local neef and bacon… nuff said. It’s awesome. Wifey had Ghost Fish Killa… a seared ahi steak sandwich with wasabi aioli… super moist and damned huge slabs of ahi… really amazing if you’re not into your meat mooing. Check them out — if you go at 7pm the place us wide open… anything after 8pm it’s packed.

Brutally honest truth: not worth it if you have to pay for parking. With that said, this parking lot is probably one of the worst in East Honolulu. If you manage to get a stall, great, but I don’t think this place is worth the visit if your only option is the paid lot across the street at City Mill. The overwhelming hipster décor of this place leads me to believe that the owners came up with the ‘90s hip hop and pop music diner concept first, then crafted a menu around that theme. Maybe I’m just getting old, but the loud music and extra dim lighting wasn’t doing it for me, and the food was just alright. Captain Crunch Milkshake — Bleh. In all fairness, I never cared for sweet cereals, so for me the shake tasted like gritty corn and melted ice cream. On the other hand, my bf really enjoyed the shake. Marky Mark — Nice flavors, but it’s pretty much a gyro in burger form which makes it extremely messy and difficult to eat. I’d be fine with this as regular gyro. Fresh Prince — Well-constructed burger, but unfortunately the beef was dry, rubbery and overdone. I admire their efforts to use happy-raised local beef, but let’s be honest here: local beef isn’t always that great. Overall, the burger is okay, but nothing about it stands out or makes it memorable. Service is friendly, and fair price to portion size and quality of the food. The wait time on the food is 20 minutes or so, but the burgers are thoughtfully executed, which justifies the extra time.

Straight outta St. Louis Drive I’ve been here two times so far. My first experience was around 4:30PM on Veterans Day. There were two or three open stalls right by the entrance to Franky Fresh. Coming down the hill toward Waialae Ave, I had an easy approach into the stalls. Because I just finished hiking an hour or so ago, I went to the spacious and clean unisex restroom in the back. Vintage radio/boom boxes all over the place. After looking through the menu I decided on the Fresh Prince burger: Portobello mushrooms, onions, and Franky Fresh sauce. The Franky Fresh sauce is a garlic aioli, if you were wondering. The burger was nice and juicy. Yum yum. The toothpick comes in handy keeping your burger intact while you stuff your face. For my fries I went with the wasabi aioli dipping sauce which had the perfect amount of kick. To add to my gluttony I also ordered a Cap’n Crunch milkshake. The milkshakes are made with Meadow Gold ice cream and pureed cereal pieces which add a slight bit of texture if you’re lucky. The second time I came here around 5:30PM and there were no stalls open in front. I found parking in the back behind Café Taj Mahal which may be difficult for large vehicles. This time I tried the Marky Mark burger which comes with olives, grilled bell peppers, and a tzatziki sauce. It pretty much is like a gyro burger. It was pretty damn good and didn’t feel so heavy. However, I’m kind of a spice fiend so my taste buds weren’t very excited. Other thoughts: 1) If you’re by yourself and want to feel feel less lonely, you can eat at the bar seating area instead of at the tables and chat with the workers. The nice breeze coming through the front door is also a plus. 2) According to the workers, it usually gets crowded around 6 or 7PM and sometimes people start lining up at 4PM. 3) If you’re not that hungry and are trying to save some money, DONOT order a milkshake. Your burger alone will satiate you. 4) Most importantly, FRANKYFRESHISBYOB!!! Hallelujah. I’ll be sure to bring a beverage with me next time.

I’ve heard a lot about this place. Saw some pictures on IG. Thought the name was cool and the concept was fun so I wanted to check it out! Located in the old Soul Café sharing the same building as The Fat Greek. Parking is a tiny lot if you’re lucky to snag a spot or you can park across at the unpaved no stall lines paid lot. There has been some renovations made to what it used to be. Décor is classic hip hop diner-ish. A little dim, casual family friendly. Menus are on old hip hop records. Bench style dinning. Open seating. I didn’t see any specials, but the menu looked pretty good! Not too much, but a good selection of items to choose from. I tried the Marky Mark, it’s a Greek style burger made with a lamb/beef blend. The bun was easy to eat, soft but not too soft where it fell apart. The burger was good! But I think the fries was the star of my meal! Well fried, crispy but not over done, and well seasoned. There were a lot of dipping choices for my fries, I went with the garlic aioli. Our waitress also brought out a spicy ketchup and they were both good! I normally don’t finish everything, but this time I did! But I don’t know why Marky Mark is a Greek burger when he’s not Greek. He’s more Irish, so maybe a corn beef sandwich and rename this burger to «Get Him to the Greek»? I don’t know. I’m hungry again thinking about my burger! The food took a bit to come out, so it’s not a rush kind of place. Staff is fast and helpful, but don’t expect much for dinning experience. It’s kinda pricey, not quite justified with an overall experience for me, but I’d still go back to dine with Frank Fresh.

I loved the ambiance of Franky Fresh! Retro, old-school hip hop, milkshakes, whoppin burgers and fries, and peppy servers mashed into a little joint in Kaimuki next to The Fat Greek is definitely appealing and a must try! There is a bar you can sit at and they have a large TV with music videos of golden age hip hop. Their walls are decorated with framed pictures of the music artists, records, and even boomboxes. Their menu is on a vinyl CD. How awesome does that sound?! You may think, «Burgers and milkshakes? That’s all?» You’ll be eating your words(oh, and your burgers) once you come to Franky Fresh. They have beef, lamb, pig, even veggie burgers, and as you read through the menu, each sounds even better than the last. They also have sandwiches including fish, chicken, roast beef, and I think salami. We had the Marky Mark and the Veggie Guru. The Marky Mark is made of ground lamb and beef, with grilled onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, feta cheese, olives, and spicy aioli. The Veggie Guru is made of a baby portabello mushroom and a veggie patty, topped with all your veggies, also with spicy aioli. The veggie patty was a little bland, but dipping it in some of the sauces for the fries made everything better. Did I mention the fries that come with the burgers also come with like 5 or 7 different sauces? Ketchup, spicy ketchup(!), wasabi, garlic, I don’t even remember them all. Their fries are addicting and come in a container that’s a mini classic metal trash can. Again, I just love restaurants who are creative and all about their theme. Lastly, their MILKSHAKES. Wow. You better keep an eye on your man because their milkshakes can really bring all the boys(and girls) to their yard. I had the coco puffs and really wish I ordered a larger size because I just couldn’t get enough! They also have trix, cap’n crunch, cinnamon toast crunch, lucky charms, and reese’s puffs. We can’t wait to come back again and won’t rest till we’ve tried their whole menu! I hope the owner of Franky Fresh is proud because this new restaurant is loved by so many :)

Unique old school vibe makes this place a cool spot for meeting up friends! BYOB is another plus and makes your dinner bill more manageable.(Tamuras is down the street for those beer lovers out there!) The menu, on an old record no less, is filled with unique burger and sandwich options. I have always gotten the mushroom option and it is delicious. The bun is perfectly toasted and it comes with the right amount of toppings. The fries are crisp and skinny and come with a medley of their homemade aioli sauces and ketchup. Or you could get a side salad… but don’t do that! Parking is not great, but parking karma is our friend and we got a spot out front the first time we went. There is also a paid lot across the street. The shakes are totally unique and named(and flavored!) after cereals. Sweet, creamy and sugary, I would recommend splitting a shake… unless food coma is your thing.

Franky Fresh is fresh to death! Aw man, been waiting for this little gem to open up and alas– it finally did after I moved from Kaimuki! Cry! Thanks to a serious late night grass-fed beef craving, and Honolulu Burger Co. closing its doors a good 15 minutes early(wtf guys?!), bf and I decided to make a trek across town to try out something new. First off, we were surprised to see that it was open until 10pm on a Sunday! So stoked that we wouldn’t have to call in and rush over! When we arrived, there were a couple groups of people but no hostess so we sat ourselves and were immediately greeted. Our menus given were on vinyl records, which totally matched the throwback hip-hop feel of the place. Retro boomboxes in mint condition were scattered all over which was pretty fun to look at while listening to Biz Markie! XD You could also play Super Nintendo over in the corner and I took the gold in some Mario Kart! ;) As far as food goes, they don’t have a big menu, but the variety is impressive. Sandwiches, burgers, even a caprese! French fries where hot and crispy and you could choose from a few dipping sauces to go along with their in house cilantro ketchup! My burger and fries totally hit the spot… but my favorite thing I ordered? CAPNCRUNCHBERRYMILKSHAKE! Genius! I always love drinking the milk after eating cereal but with Capn Crunch in particular, the milk always has an odd sort of film on it. This gives you the full flavor of drinking the milk without that weirdness! I told him this was almost my favorite milkshake ever and the only reason it fell slightly to second was because the other one had alcohol! Little birdie told me that that would be taken care of soon, so look out! Franky Fresh has got it going on!

I have nothing but good things to say about this place! The minute we got in the staff was very welcoming & accommodating. Great service! Of course I couldn’t go to Franky Fresh without getting a milkshake. They have cereal milkshakes(brilliant right??). There’s a few listed on the menu but they also have other cereal shakes that aren’t listed depending on what they have. I looove milkshakes and I love cereal flavored items so this was like heaven for me. I recommend the Captain Crunch flavor! Oh and another thing I love is that they use fat straws(the bubble tea kind) which makes it so much easier to drink the thick shakes! As for my burger, I ordered the Franky’s OG Hawaiian with cheddar cheese. Burger was cooked perfectly and so nice & juicy. There aren’t really good burger places here in Hawaii so I’m glad they opened this up!

Keepin’ It Fresh Yo. Franky fresh that is. An awesome, cool place to hang with friends to reminisce of the 80’s and 90’s. FOOD We ordered the THEFRESHPRINCE&OLDSCHOOL. The patties were moist. The vegetables were crisp. They were decent burgers, but not mind blowing. I think they needed a sauce or aioli to make it pop. The fries were fresh and had some cool dipping sauces, which I was dipping my burger in. We also ordered a PLAINCHEESEBURGER and LUCKYCHARMSSHAKE for the kids. The burger is pretty big, so the kids shared it. Especially after drinking that shake you get pretty full. Food presentation was excellent. Most importantly, it is BYOB! ENVIRONMENT Cool music blaring, which brought me back to my intermediate and high school days. Boom boxes of all sizes and records adorn the walls. Wooden, dark décor. Open kitchen. They also have a Nintendo console and you can play popular 90’s games like Mario Kart! So fun, even though the games were a breeze for my tween. There is a private lot for parking, but it’s usually full. I think there may be a paid parking across the street. SERVICE I thought they were attentive and quick. I was satisfied. CONCLUSION Such a fun place to eat at! I will definitely come back again! It’s also very kid friendly!

Hi my name is Christa and I’m a gluttonous pig and I need help! No, I mean I need Unilocal! And so do you if you need an artery clogging but oh so tasty junk meal! Unilocal led me to this mecca of bad for you cuisine after seeing one of my fellow Unilocalers check in. I won’t make this long because there are better well written and wittier reviews than mine will be(points you in the direction of Jeffery A.‘s and Rod U.‘s reviews). All you need to know is that if you’re the type of person that orders the fried sampler platter at bars because you wanna little bit of everything fried, get the Heavy D.!! FRIED mozzarella sticks, FRIED buffalo chicken tenders, FRIED onion straws, and french FRIES all piled into a soft hoagie roll! I felt like I had to be rolled out after eating it! And yes, I did order a burger while I was there. I had to. The devil made me do it, but it was so good! Juicy old school with bacon! The bread is soft, the beef is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. I exhibited a little self control and passed on the milkshakes. Next time Captain Crunch, you will be mine. . I ventured across the street for a can of beer since it’s byob. There are picnic tables to sit at a well as an old school counter top with bar stools. There’s also a «vintage» Nintendo game console you can relive your youth(if you’re a child of the 90s like me) and battle your kids in Street Fighter. Parking is limited. The bathroom was dark and smelled like cats. Service was friendly. The theme of the place is nostalgic. I had the opening song to the«Fresh Prince of Bel Air» in my head all day and I walked out with a distended belly, but I was very well pleased.
