Highly recommended if you don’t have a car to drive to Walmart or Sam’s Club to do groceries. The selection is much better than at the ABC stores and the prices are a bit lower. Cashiers are also very friendly.

About a 8 – 10 minute walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village and much more reasonably price than the ABC on site. Pick up drinks, musubi, fried chicken or taro chips for your day at the beach. Really worth the walk for the price difference of other shops since it’s geared more towards the locals living across the streeet.

The store is clean, which is nice, but it is super expensive, has no healthy options(organic or non GMO) and the lines are always ridiculous.

Close to my condo, so convenient, open late, clean, well stocked, reasonable prices. I learned about the Food Pantry from a recommendation from a work colleague. I have recommended to friends moving into the area as well.

If you don’t want to pay high prices while in Waikiki for groceries this is the place to go. Have a good selection of meat, seafood, produce, and just about anything else you would need during your stay. Purchased some different kinds of poke(tuna, tako, and mussels) and all were under ten dollars and good portions. Way cheaper but not as convenient as the Abc stores which are practically located on every corner.

VERY impressed by the choices available in the store. They stock enough to get by for gluten free, vegan, peanut free or whatever your restriction is. It’s a real grocery store, not a convenience store(ABC is indeed a great convenience store). They also sell some beautiful reusable shopping bags.

Yes, it can be pricey, but it’s convenient! The employees here are so friendly and patient. They have to deal with some interesting customers, and they do it well. We live in the neighborhood and they always remember us. They’re pretty great. Best deal in here is 2 jugs of Crystal Geyser water for $ 5($ 4 every once in a while). ABC up the street sells them for $ 10 each. I always buy fresh flower leis here when we have visitors, and they have amazing prices on wine($ 34 for The Prisoner, anyone?) Thanks for being there, Food Pantry!

Although prices are higher here than in larger supermarkets, the convenience of the location makes it worth not traveling for everyday groceries. There is a surprisingly large selection of necessary items and there are always some good sales. The greatest thing about this place is that the friendly staff makes you aware that you are still in Hawaii, even in the heart of Waikiki.

Surprisingly spacious grocery store in Waikiki. Prices are a bit high, but it’s convenient for both the locals and tourist alike. The have hot good available, cold drinks, fresh produce. I didn’t get any hot foods, but I did take advantage of the cold beverage to go with my breakfast from the onigiri place. Never paid so much for a bottle of Japanese tea, but hey, convenience! Good if you need something in a pinch.

This place isn’t cheap, and the fruit is often lousy. Maybe one out of 5 times I go there I’ll find strawberries that look edible. Another annoyance is that the bags they use burst when they get a bit damp. Last night I grabbed some onions, peppers, and carrots before walking around Waikiki for a bit. Water condensed onto the onions and peppers, which were cold, making the paper bag get soggy. In the end the hole in the bottom of the bag was as large at the one on the top, and my groceries rolled all over the streets of Waikiki.

This is the best little grocery store in this area. If you are like us and don’t have a car then the choice of places is slim to get good groceries. They have a nice little deli and a good variety of foods. I was looking for some heavy cream without all the preservatives in it and they were the only ones that had it. Fruit was good and the prices are fair considering the location. If you want cheap food go to Walmart. If you want some good food then go here.

I love the convenience of this place. If I need to pick up one or two items then it’s nice to be able to walk here. It is well organized and has a cute little bakery inside. They don’t carry Old Bay seasoning which is odd to me though. If you have a large grocery list then shop else where because it is not a cheap place to purchase food.

They have this«last sale» thing. If something is about to expire by date, they lower the price. It’s awesome and I often find good stuff that way!

We loved the Food Pantry in Hobron. As a tourist from Australia, we could walk from our apartment in Waikiki. It had REAL fresh food(pointed dig at Walmart) fruit and Vegies, bbq chickens, sushi, fresh meat, poke. Yes it’s dearer, but factor in taxi rides we didn’t have to pay for, you are back at square one and have a kitchen full of awesome food, saving plenty of dollars not eating out for every meal, and still not having to cook. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is they don’t have gluten free items. Haven’t been able to find GF bread anywhere here yet!

Touristy, overpriced, small, but convenient with a nice selection of fresh foods, I can really only recommend this grocery store for tourists or people that just need to pick up a few things. Located on Hobron Avenue, one of my favorite streets in Waikiki, the store is in the basement of a once bustling outdoor mall. It is easy to find and quick to walk to from the hotels on the west side of Waikiki. The store is very cramped with low ceilings and close aisles. Every time I go in I find it hard to walk if anyone else is in the store. There is a fresh bakery at the door that always smells nice, everything looks great. They offer a large selection of wine, beers, and other alcohols. The processed food items are geared mainly toward tourists with access to only a microwave or hotplate. They do have vegetables, meats, and other fresh items. The store is clean and well organized for the space it occupies. For obvious reasons, all items are over priced, some worse than others. For locals I recommend going elsewhere as many grocery stores are just a few blocks outside of Waikiki. For tourists in need of a simple and convenient place to get food without any fuss, this is your place.

I like the Food Pantry on Hobron. I stay at a timeshare near there quite often and can walk there easily. It has more variety than the ABC stores and I find the prices to be very reasonable. They have a deli along with the groceries. There are baked goods and a decent variety of all kinds of food, wine, frozen meals. I like the salads that they have pre-packaged and coffee is very reasonable. If you are staying in the area and don’t have a car to go to another grocery store, it’s a great option.

Close and convenient, if I’m feeling too lazy top drive to a bigger grocery store this is where I end up. Prices are marked up compared to other grocery stores I’ve been in on Oahu, but that’s what you pay for convenience! I don’t recommend the poke, but everything else I’ve had from here has been as expected!

Evening Staff and Cashiers get 5 stars ******* Kuho Ave Locaton also 5 Stars Managaer Richard Doda on Hobron needs to be replaced as he is going blind, and also lacks the ability to welcome patrons to his store before asking if a dog was a service animal, which he not only IS but his Huge ID was predominantly displayed on him at the time . The manager s attitude 100% unwelcoming to discriminating. He never smiled an didn’t even try to wish me a good shoppin experience . Unacceptable for anyone and especially I who have been shopping here daily for an extended period of time with the dog in tow on most visits. Its sad to see people be so unfriendly anytime but especially during the xmas holidays and at a time where prejudice based on appearance is at an all time high …

Didn’t realize until recently that there was a second Food Pantry location in Waikiki. So I finally checked out this location during my Fall 2014 visit and it’s definitely smaller than the one on Kuhio Avenue and the aisles are much tighter. Prices are usually pretty steep, though here and there you’ll find some good deals, but then again, what do you expect in Waikiki?

The selection and prices here are decent. A little expensive but I don’t support Walmart so it’s a worth while choice. I usually buy my produce from the farmers markets but they have good produce selections there when I do shop for it. I really like there sushi and deli and the majority of the staff is very friendly. I did have a spat with one of the cashiers because she was being very rude to the couple in line in front of me and I didn’t think it was justified. If you live close it’s the best place to shop!
