We ate here years ago when they were located in a tiny space on the other side of Kuhio. Looking for breakfast in a pinch, we thought we’d go there again. Well, they’ve since moved(apparently 5 years ago!) into a much bigger space still on Kuhio but now across the street on the 2nd floor. It’s a little weird when you first walk in. I found myself trying to figure out what occupied the space before Food Galaxy. Possibly a night club? A ballroom dancing studio? You’ll see for yourself. Anyway, greasy spoon is exactly right in describing this place. But it’s reliable and reasonably priced. They have most everything you’d want for a traditional breakfast as well as local items too.

This place sort of reminds me of Denny’s since they have your typical breakfast combination of bacon-hash browns-eggs-and/or pancakes. Their staff was nice, but their hash browns are whack. No flavor and bad texture. Maybe I had a bad batch. :(

We saw the sign across the street from our hotel advertising a $ 3 pancake breakfast. We had to stop in and check it out for ourselves. This place offers really great food without charging you a ton of money. We actually ate breakfast there 4 out of the 5 days we were in Hawaii. They offer traditional options, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes — all kinds of assortments, omelets, steak & eggs, etc. You can’t go wrong with a cheap breakfast in a convenient location. If I could compare the food to something I would say compare it to your mom’s sunday morning breakfast. The portions are perfect & the service was great. Don’t let the outside persuade you to not stop in, its definitely worth checking out, I doubt anyone could regret it.

So we were flipping through a tourist mag and found a coupon for this place. My bf wanted to eat here and I was strongly opposed to it since it was upstairs and it looked like a Denny’s/pit stop restaurant on the way to Tahoe. The service was really good and the food was not too bad. Although the surf and turf is not recommended. It was a little better than Denny’s and cheaper than most restaurants in this area. We actually ate dinner and breakfast here during our trip. We saw a lot of Japanese tourists here too. And there’s always a dude at the bottom of the stairs handing out flyers and ushering tourists to the restaurant. (I’d rather go to Puka Dog downstairs for dinner and the Japanese bakery down the street for breakfast)

Was out in Hawaii for Spring Break and this was near the hotel… and what a good thing… their breakfast is great! This place was packed when I was here… I ordered the Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage… your traditional breakfast at a low low price & friendly staff… Denny’s gots nothing on this place… Definently will be back at some point in the future

Small greasy spoon you’d think, but the semester I was«abroad» in Hawaii, this place proved to be a great break from studying and dorm food. Great selection of pancakes with local twists, huge portions and of course traditional hawaiian breakfasts like spam and eggs, portuguese sausage and loco mocos. Great prices, and a very hospitable staff. Regulars and tourists alike should visit this place for a break from high priced wikiki tourist traps.
