Banyan Breeze

Nice little shop in the bottom floor of a hotel. Very friendly, super helpful, makes a great coffee! For a spot in Honolulu it’s a little dark and hidden but totally cute and does the trick if you’re looking for a delicious drink and snack to take on your way!

The place itself is very nice and cozy. The Chai tasted just okay, and they have a very small milk selection.

I love this little place. They have the best soups that runs out EARLY so get there by lunch on rainy days. The staff are all super friendly. My favorites are the THAI ICED LATTE and the breakfast croissant. Everything is good there though, even the pasta dishes and all the baked goods. Nom nom nom.

Cute little coffee shop conveniently located at the ground floor of the condo we stayed at in Waikiki! I went here almost everyday during the week that we stayed at that condo. Aside from the coffee, I particularly enjoyed chatting with the baristas to learn about must-​try places and things to do around the area.
My drink of choice was the iced caramel latte, which for a small size, was actually quite large. But that’s okay, cause I needed all the caffeine I could get to last me through the day! The rest of the drink menu includes standard coffee drinks and they also have a good iced coconut latte.
Ample seating is available if you’re looking to sit and enjoy the drink at the café, and they also have a small assortment of food to choose from.

Cute spot but the my latte was bitter and super watered down. Espresso drinks are pretty bad in Hawaii. I hoped this café would be the one to stand out. Perhaps this is how the locals like their coffee?

Located in the Waikiki Banyan Tower 1 on the first floor mauka of the elevators, the Banyan Breeze is a cool place. For locals not staying at the hotel you can probably park in front of the hotel to run in and grab an order. The iced toddy coffee, lattes and sandwiches are very delicious. I had a warm veggie sandwich on croissant, pepperjack cheese and tomato & spinach with fluffy egg, it was simply divine. Coupled with a breve or other latte, you’ll be returning for more. Four stars, I because Internet service is not free.

Stayed at the Waikiki banyan and walked past this coffee shop everyday. Decided to PPP in for a snack one morning. Ordered their special coffee and grabbed a chia parfait to go. Reasonable pricing. They had a decent selection of baked goods and ready made sandwiches available. My chia parfait was thick and creamy. Interesting taste and texture. Good spot to pick up a quick breakfast or lunch.

Well it’s been 4 months since I last wrote my review for the Banyan Breeze. I’ve ventured off to trying other drinks and food products other than just sticking to the regular coffee that always gave me the sole reason for coming here in the mornings before I head into work.
Because I work in an office and sitting in front of the computer all day, I’m one of those that have become addicted to coffee and somehow need my coffee fix throughout the day. I’m just hooked on to any type of caffeine that makes breaking this habit tough. I like to keep it simple and have regular coffee with added milk and sweetener to give it a little taste that I often get from here. Since it’s been hot lately, I’ve been getting more ice coffee than brewed coffee.
For brewed coffee, I’ve tried 3 different flavors they offered at the time which was regular, coconut and macadamia nut flavored. It’s recommendable to try them all as the coconut and macadamia nut gives it an island taste that you don’t usually get to taste if you’re not from around here. If they don’t have already the flavored brewed in the morning, it usually only takes 5 minutes when you request for a certain flavor. You can also have decaf for those that just like the coffee taste.
For iced coffee, I’ve tried the cinnamon flavored and french vanilla. It’s definitely good to try a variety of flavors at times if you’re one to get the same boring regular coffee. Spice it up a bit and add a little flavor to your morning coffee! I usually get a regular coffee though, unless the workers in the front offers me different flavor choices. It all depends if they have it readily available at that time. It doesn’t hurt to ask if they have other flavors since they’re the same price as a regular coffee.
I usually don’t like to spend a fortune on more flavored drinks since I’m one to have a quick picker upper with just regular caffeine. But as they offer a wide variety of flavored drink choices and syrups they can add, the list can go on with choices depending on what your preference of taste are. You may also request for non fat or soy milk for those who are conscious about milk products. I’ve tried the Haupia Latte, which tastes like coconut. That’s pretty good and the only other flavored ice coffee drink I’ve tried is the White Chocolate Mocha, which is my current favorite whenever I like to treat myself to something good that day.
For food products, my go to snack is the energy oatcakes that is among the other homemade goodies by the cashier. It seems to be the more healthier option compared to the other products. It’s the perfect snack for me in between meals as I sit in front of my computer enjoying it along my coffee. It’s so protein hearty filled with peanut butter that it’s not meant for eating it in one sitting. I could easily have that for lunch alone because it’s so filling for such a small thing. Although I’ve heard numerous compliments of their other homemade goodies though that I may have to try one day.
During my lunch breaks when I forget to bring lunch, I come here since its closer than going to any other food places and grab something from the refrigerator display. I’ve recently tried the club salad with honey mustard. It was delicious and you can taste the freshly crisp lettuce served with slices of eggs, turkey, shredded cheese and croutons. It was a nice mix of ingredients and so filling that I had to eat it in two sittings. The pasta presto is pretty tasty as well, get it heated up, it’ll tastes even better! I’ve also tried the ham sandwich on wheat bread. All of their food products are freshly made.
For an afternoon refresher, get some fresh squeezed lemonade! It’s sooooo refreshing and good. It’s not too sweet and not to sour. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice as well as another option for a refreshment. Not only do they offer coffee here, there’s also non coffee product such as hot tea, hot chocolate, fresh brewed ice teas and lemonades, frozen smoothies, and milkshakes. Be sure to look at their board for specials as well as the often have daily specials for you to try.
Always a pleasant experience when I walk into the café. Sometimes when I often come here on a daily, they’ll already know what kind of drink I’ll be having before I even ask for it. Friendly workers throughout the day. It’s a locally owned coffee shop so they often times come out with new products to offer for customers and see what is popular among the people that come in and out of this café. I’m all for supporting local coffee shops!

Good coffee shop, in lobby of Waikiki Banyan, one block away from Kalakaua Ave. Coffee is good and prices are good, $ 4.25 for a large. Lady working there (runs it?) is really nice to talk to.

Great place to enjoy coffee and pastries. Kids had smoothies and loved them. Look forward to our next visit. Service is attentive and friendly. Love the artwork around the room. I look forward to stopping by again.

I’ve only been here one time and just ordered the French Press coffee. Although the name of this café implies it’s more of a cold non-​coffee beverage place, I chanced having some coffee since everywhere I’ve been in Hawaii has served good coffee. I have to say this is one of the worst I’ve had. Coming from Seattle, the Coffee Capital, I’m a little more picky than the average person so I set my standards high. Unfortunately, the coffee I tried here on this day was more like a funky tea than a coffee. Based on the taste and appearance, I would say they used a very coarse grind that didn’t allow any flavor or color from the coffee to come out. You might get luckier than me with the coffee but I would probably go with more of a «breeze» type of drink.

Having just moved into the Waikiki Banyan, I was eager to try Banyan Breeze, the on-​site coffee house. And I definitely not disappointed: friendly service, good food, nice prices. There are even some gift items so no trip to the Aloha Stadium swap meet needed! Their own coffee is wonderful! Open 5am-​7pm — how cool is that???

LOVED THIS PLACE!!! Too bad I didn’t see the reviews until our last day in Waikiki! I would have gone there everyday. I had their coconut latte and it was soooo good!!! The ladies there were very nice and the shop was very cute! If in Waikiki, you must definitely go there!

I love this little coffee shop located in the Waikiki Banyan. Great coffee, good assortment of baked goods, sandwiches, and fresh fruit. The staff is always friendly too.
I stop here almost every morning while on vacation and always get my coffee (skinny vanilla iced latte) just how I like it!

Located inside the Banyan, very easy access. High quality coffee’s and food at reasonable prices. They have a great coconut Latte. A big selection of breakfast sandwiches and breads. They also have lunch and dinner options. I love their homemade apple cinnamon bread. A good selection of healthy and decadent choices. The staff is super friendly and welcoming.
I would definitely recommend this over the Seattle’s Best or Starbucks!

I happened to be running errands in Waikiki, so after reading other Unilocal reviews I thought I would try here. Like others have said, it has more of a regular coffee shop feel (as opposed to a hotel/​touristy feel), which is nice. There’s free unlimited wi-​fi with purchase! The coffee was meh, which is understandable since I got decaf. It was slow, so it was nice and quiet. I didn’t eat anything, but I was impressed at the wide selection of food available.

As part of my challenge to find O’ahu’s best coffee shop continues, I stumbled upon this little-​known gem on my way to work one day.
Situated inside the Waikiki Banyan Hotel, this place has a total local-​vibe written all over it. As soon as you enter, you wouldn’t imagine this place being a HOTEL coffee shop. It feels like it could have it’s own street corner placed in an artsy district of town. The staff is way friendly as soon as you enter, throwing across big smiles and genki hello’s to all.
They have a great selection of sandwiches, fruits, and other pastries and although I wasn’t too hungry, I couldn’t resist. I had the tuna sandwich with a iced soy chai tea latte.
The chai latte hit the spot, with it’s perfect spiciness and balanced sweetness. The tuna sandwich was equally as good. When you need a fork because the sandwiches are overloaded with ingredients, then you know you’ve found a good sandwich. The bread didn’t seem too fresh however, as it was kinda hard around the corners. Didn’t have that stick to the rooftop of my mouth squishiness that makes a perfect sandwich. Nonetheless, I would try another sandwich next time I go back.
This being Waikiki and all, you would expect the prices to be nuts. But luckily, the cost of a sandwich and drink is pretty much average to most coffee shops outside of the tourist zone, which is a welcome surprise.
If you’re looking for low-​key place to get a drink, then look no further. It’s relaxing, casual, and quite simply a really nice spot to take a break from the chaos of Waikiki. Bring a magazine (or an iPad as they have free wifi!) and enjoy the Breeze!
