Teachers are always looking for the best store for supplies. If you don’t feel like driving into town, the Mapunapuna location is for you. I thought the store wouldn’t have a teacher section, but you will find that the teacher section is better than the one on Cooke Street. Everything a teacher would need is all on one side of the warehouse. The store also has A/C so that’s definitely a plus!

If store hours are advertised til 5pm they should follow through n stay open til 5 pm and not close an hour early. Very poor service! Lots of people were just arriving at the store at 4 and they had to leave disappointed and upset. It really inconveniences the customer after driving all the way there.

Hi Yeeps! Teri Y and I are cruizing the new Mapupu(our slang for Mapunapuna) store and the wagon is getting full. Let’s go back a bit. When approaching the new store from mauka, there is a small parking lot clearly visible from the street. This will be called E1. The second parking lot is the next driveway AFTER the«out» driveway of E1. As you drive in, there is a warehouse on the left, and FH second entrance will be called E2. E1 entrance takes you into the arts & crafts department. Yes, this part of the building is air conditioned. There is a handicap restroom dirctly to the right of the registers. Walk along side, turn right and turn right again for the men’s & women’s restrooms. E2 entrance’s restrooms are located just inside the door, to the right. E2 entrance will take you into the familiar warehouse setting. Now that we have that out of the way, on to the rest of the store. It is like a casino in Vegas; arranged to keep you inside. Be prepaered to be here a while, wandering around trying to find thing and your way out. Who knows, you may end up with a wagon/basket full of NYN’s, like us! I am a bit disappointed by the merchandising. I have been here a few times since they opened, for 1⁄3 cut manila folders with no luck. This is not a specialty item and should be in stock… ALWAYS! Ended up going to Office Max. Hense the threes stars. Hopefully in a month or two they will have their act together. Good luck and happy shopping!

Thank you Al(Mr. Hirata) for taking the time to find me. He actually showed up to my work place and personally spoke with my manager and coworker to find out what the problem was. He left his business card and asked my manager to have me call him on his cell. As I explained to him all I wanted was a call back and help to put the drawer back together. Instead he offered to take back the drawer(with a full refund) and replace it with another drawer better suited for our office at cost. That is what I call customer service. I declined his generous offer but I REALLY appreciated the follow up. I look forward to going back to my favorite office supply store! Thank you again Al!!!

I’m sure that I’m not the only one who absolutely loves buying stationary items that you don’t need! As soon as I found out that they were opening up a Fisher Hawaii in Mapunapuna, I was so excited cause I work right down the road! I’ve been on a hunt for a specific pull out plastic storage drawer for awhile, and figure I should try to see if they had any over here. When I walked in, I initially thought that they were fairly small, up until I made my way to where they have their storage plastic containers and saw that they had additional space, along with the warehouse as well. I made my way to the warehouse and was thrown back on how many pen/pencils/highlighters/sharpies collection they had. I believe I was in heaven! I’ve been needing to buy new highlighters but they were never on sale, so I’m so glad that they they sell them individually cause i was able to buy only the colors that I wanted(the ones I thought was pretty lol) and not the boring yellow ones. Same thing for their Sharpies(I really didnt need these, but they were pretty colored lol). I went to the aisle where they have the G2 Pilot Pens for my grandma and heaven was on earth yet once again when I saw the display of Gelly Rolls. YES, I SAIDGELLYROLLS! I totally forgot that these existed and it surely brought me back to elementary school when thats all us girls had. They had such a huge selection(their own display, actually) and I wanted to buy them all… I really did. BUT when I went ahead and wrote on their little scratch paper that they have, for you to try out the pens, I quickly realized how thick it was & over the years, I’ve grown to love it when it’s a fine point pen, so I ended up not buying any. *Sad face* Then I went ahead and browsed around the place even more cause my grandparents were nowhere to be found, lol. I ended up finding them where they had the office furniture(idk what else to call them) but the area where they have all the desks and chairs. They were more on the expensive side, I never knew they could get so expensive, but I don’t plan on buying any of those anyways, so it’s all good. But other than that, they have a whole bunch of other stuffs. You name it, they have it… office/school supply wise, at least. It’s most def THE place for teachers, though!

Let me just preposition this by saying I was thrilled to have Fisher open so close to home in Mapunapuna. My first trip into this new Fisher location was a routine one. I made it a few minutes before closing on Thursday. The guy who was working the pen counter was helpful, quickly answering my questions, helping me find what I needed and I was out the door. I had planned to pick up a couple Pilot Vanishing Point pens, but I wanted to come when I had more time to decide which finishes to get. I just went in today and I have to say this was the worst experience I have ever had in any retail store in Hawaii, period. I knew exactly what I wanted, I knew they had it, I just needed time to decide which color to get. I went to the pen counter at 4pm on Monday 1⁄18. I only include this because I hope management can figure out who was working and get rid of them or at least move them somewhere else. I let the two ladies working there know that I was looking for Pilot fine point fountain pens. She said they didn’t have any, they only had medium point. I knew this was wrong because when I had been in the last time I had bought some and planned to get more. I asked again adding that I was looking for the Pilot Vanishing Point pens. The younger woman tried to assist by opening the showcase I asked to see which contained nothing but fine point Pilot Vanishing Point pens. At this point I wrote it off. Maybe they were new. I just wanted to find the colors I wanted and I would be gone. No such luck. The younger woman attempted to answer my questions but it was clear she had no idea what I was talking about. The older woman had given up trying to assist me entirely and was now showing her co-workers some online videos. By now another worker had come to help answer my questions. By this time I had given up trying to get any help and just left them with a comment about the horrible service. I realize that the workers may not have the same knowledge as someone has researched the products, but the lack of effort speaks volumes. What has really upset me is the total lack of assistance I got when all I needed was five minutes of their time to help me find something that was literally right under their nose. If I’m planning to spend a few hundred dollars on a couple of fountain pens I don’t think that is too much to ask. To first be lied to because the sales person is too lazy to look down, then ignored because they don’t know how to answer my question is just too much. After being a dedicated Fisher customer I have always been willing to pay a little more to support local business because of the great customer service they have offered. This experience has made me decide to save my money and order online instead.

Fisher Hawaii now open in Mapunapuna Street in Salt Lake. We happened to visit the town location(which is relocated across the street also) and they were out of stock on what we were shopping for. Both locations are half the size of original store. But they seem to have everything including furniture. Fisher Hawaii always have office supplies at the lowest price all year long. But of course, back to school is when you should be really shopping. I also love their pen section. They have every brand and every color you can think of. Finally, I’m soooo glad they have up graded their cash registers. Checking out used to stress me out because the cashier would flip through price binder for correct price. Who wants to be over charged? Technology is awesome that way.
