Dr. Michael Yuen is definitely as good as it gets. Kind, educational, and best of all, kept me totally comfortable during a gnarly root canal. I had hardly any pain afterward either. He is a skilled doctor who worked so fast and efficiently. He has called me and consulted over the phone as well. Wonderful experience.

I was so happy to meet Dr Yuen, great specialist, he took so much time with me and gave his honest opinion… I did not feel rushed and he answered all my questions… the office is very clean and Jenny at the front desk is wonderful… I wished he could have saved my tooth but his honest opinion has sent me elsewhere… I hope the next Dr is as nice…

I’ve had some major dental issues that my regular does not treat. He referred me to Dr Yuen at Elite for some extensive work. He and his staff are so kind and professional. That work was terrific. Move the clock forward 6 months and I ended up heading into my regular dentist on a emergency visit where he found a major abscess in whole different area. He sent me to see Dr Yuen who’s staff got me right in 2 hours later to take care of what had become a major issue.
His office has all the latest technology
He is so good at what he does ! He and his staff are amazing at making you feel comfortable in the midst of an emergency.

This place is freakin amazing! I have a HUGE fear of dentists or anything dental work related, so imagine how i felt when i found out i had to have 2 root canals! I was terrified, my first visit was so much easier then i thought and my second was amazing, I still have one more tooth to do and im acctually looking forward to it! Everyone was so nice, the staff, the assistant who helped, Carlos, was awesome and so was Dr.Yuen. He really cared about how i was feeling, Even tho im a huge pain. lol. All together a great visit. :)

Most everyone associates root canal with pain, however, his treatment and even the after effects was virtually pain free! I am so happy and impressed with the results!
His office is so comfortable, beginning from the waiting area (stocked with beverage selections and wifi) to the X-​Ray room (he has 3-​D imaging too) .

Many individuals and business may claim to be «elite» however they often fall short. This was not the case at Elite Endodontics. Dr. Yuen and his staff live up to their name and exceeded my expectations.
From the moment you walk in you are greeted by friendly and upbeat staff. The waiting area is kinda posh with comfortable leather seating and even a beverage bar.
Dr. Yuen’s equipment appears to be state of the art. Gotta love any doc who uses Macs.
If I could use Dr. Yuen for all my dental needs I would!

I purposely waited to write my review for Dr. Yuen at Elite Endodontics. I was experiencing a dull pain near my front tooth for over six months and put off getting it checked out due to fear and finances.
Looking back, I am more than pleased with Dr. Yuen, his office, assistants and every employee. Dr. Yuen’s knowledge, surgical skill and friendly personality contributed to a pleasant experience for the apicoectomy needed to relieve the condition with my tooth infection. Also, I am impressed with everyone working there and that they went above and beyond to accommodate me and make my Endodontics visit rewarding – thanks to you all!

I was referred here by my dentist for a root canal. I have had 4 in my lifetime and this one was the least painful and the fastest. I had a problem tooth and not only did they do a fantastic job but they made my experience very comfortable. The office is clean and everyone was very friendly. I am very satisfied with my experience here and Dr Yuen is very good at what he does. :)

Nobody likes root canals, BUT if you need one. come to Elite Endodontics. Although dentists can do it… Why not go to someone who specializes in it? I get anxiety the moment I step into the dentist office, but the cleanliness and décor of this office makes me feel more relaxed.
Dr. Yuen and his staff are very friendly. I love how they open Saturdays so I don’t have to take off work! Most importantly the root canal procedure went well and Dr. Yuen kept me informed the whole time what he was doing.
My husband loves coming with me because he can make himself coffee/​tea and many options of juices from the mini fridge while he waits for me. :)

Great care and service from a very professional but warm and engaging staff. Saw them only 2 times to do major root canal work and save existing bridge but both times left very satisfied and assured that I had first class state-​of-​the-​art dental care. Dr. Yuen has a very friendly disposition and clearly explains the process and thoughtfully checks in with his patent. His «right-​hand» assistant, Carlos, is equally friendly and sensitive to the reclining and restrained patient. He made sure saliva did not overwhelm me during the two hour long sessions. Good work. You’re going to think I’m weird but this was hands down the best root canal experience I’ve ever had. I know. I know… what the hell right? I’ve had dental issues all of my life and have had some really terrible dental experiences. I have finally found a great dentist in my home town of Kailua (Dr. Sonson) but with this recent tooth abscess, a root canal was suggested and I had to be referred to a specialist. Well a specialist Dr. Yuen and his staff sure is. From the time I called to schedule my appointment, Jennie was thorough with the information she gave me. She sent me my online account where I filled out my paper work so the check in process wouldn’t take long. She called me back within 2 days to give me an estimate of my charges and made me fully aware of my payment responsibilities. When I came to my appointment, everything went smooth and quick. They had coffee, juice and water while I waited. The office is nice! Very modern and the staff was really nice. Bianca, the dental assistant was professional, thorough but also very personable. Dr. Yuen was the same way. Funny, personable but very professional when it came to business. His office is connected to his wife’s practice, she too is a endodontist and very nice as well. To me, customer service was top notch. After my root canal, Dr. Yuen showed me the xrays of the before and after, explained to me what he did and what I could possibly expect. He answered all the questions that I had and even gave me his cell number if I had any questions. This is something that all patients get but I think its great to have on hand for any after hour issues.
Honestly, if you want good customer service, friendly staff, professional and knowledgeable specialist for your major dental issues, see Dr. Yuen. Best experience I’ve had yet!

After my review, I received a phone call from Dr. Yuen and I can tell that he really cares about his patients and wants the best for them.
He strives for patient satisfaction and cares about his patients so due to this, I am adding another star to my original review.
He’s a great endodontist and wants his patients to be happy with the treatment they receive.

A little late on the post but…
I’d say excellent dentist! Knowledgeable at what he does and ensures the safety and security of his clients.
Once I found out that I needed a root canal, I was highly recommended to go to Dr. Yuen at Elite Endodontics. I was scared at first since I’ve never had a root canal before but he assured me that everything was going to be fine. Personally, I do not like needles, but in order to not feel anything during the procedure, I needed one. That was probably the only pain I felt during the procedure, which was less than an hour. :)
As you step inside the office, you’ll notice that everything is white and clean! They even offer free coffee, juice and water for anyone who is waiting. Plus, you get to enjoy the free WiFi. :)
I’d say the only prob is that the location throws you off a bit. It’s located in the same building as longs drugs and times supermarket. The building is pretty run down and looks like it’s going to collapse. They probably just need to do a little renovation. On the other hand, parking is free, so I’m not complaining. Haha.
All in all, Elite Endodontics has a professional and productive team that really looks after their patients. I would highly recommended coming for and procedures, but make sure you have dental insurance because it is a bit pricy.

I had a botched root canal from another dentist and it was painful to say the least (I’ll save you from the horrible details…)

Its not just a name, its the truth!

Imagine your dentist telling you that you need a root canal for the very first time and you have chronic anxiety, panic attack, extreme light-​sensitivity (eyes), and serious gag-​reflex issues. Your dentist can’t do it, but he can refer you to a specialist who can. Sounds like heaven?
On top of that, you need it done today. Last night, your throbbing tooth nerves kept you up for 5 hours and gave you a migraine. When you woke up this morning, you definitely needed emergency relief right away. Believe it or not, the first place I looked was Unilocal.I searched for «root canal» in my area.
I saw a bunch of options and Elite Endodontics was at the top of the list with great reviews. I gave them a call and they said they could fit me in that afternoon and at least get rid of the pain. A+ for accommodating.
I went in for my first visit that same afternoon which lasted about 1.5 hours and after that, the intense pain I had from the night before was gone. I then had to go back for a second visit about a week later to finish up. That took about 2.5 hours due to my difficult tooth situation. 2.5 hours was my threshold limit and we finished just in time. I did self-​medicate for anxiety prior to each visit according to my personal conditions.
Now with all my problems mentioned above, did I suffer? Yes I did, but I believe it was the least amount I could have possibly experienced. The staff was extremely patient and accommodating with my conditions. They absolutely gave me the best customer service and treatment I could have hoped for. This minimized my suffering which could have been worse if I saw another doctor. And let me tell you that the suffering was internal due to my own conditions. The procedures didn’t hurt more than a normal filling. After each procedure was done, I felt like a champ! Like going 12 rounds with Mike Tyson and winning.
For those of you with similar conditions to me, you know that the most important thing is that the doctor and staff accommodate your special needs. They did that 100% from my first visit. Doctor Michael Yuen is exactly the type of doctor you want to work with if you have extreme anxiety. He is professional, soft spoken, patient, fast working, and a nice guy. He explains everything for you. You want to pause, he pauses. Take a break? No problem. In between, he works quickly, diligently, and thoroughly. I also wore an eye mask which I believe helped to reduce the anxiety.
And guess who called me to follow up the next day after each treatment? Dr. Yuen himself. How’s that for service. A+.
His staff is also just as accommodating and professional. Staff is equally as important as the doctor because this stuff is a team effort. Big props to his staff including Desiree, Laura, Bianca, and another assistant (think his name was Carlos?). All great people to work with from the first call to the last exit.
As a business, they are first rate solid. Office was designed by an architect less than a year ago. Business cards and presentation are professional quality. Website… awesome. Office systems are all brand new Macs. Medical equipment seems to the be latest and greatest. Digital x-​ray machine and photo equipment gets results instantly. Furniture all new and modern. Free refreshments. Lots of parking.
This is the business model all dental professionals should follow. Anyone who isn’t should step up their game to this level. Drop by his office to see how far behind you are.

Great service from beginning to end.
I needed to find a specialist for a root canal that my regular dentist could not do. I am so glad that I found Elite Endodontics to do the procedure. Dr. Yuen and EVERYONE that worked in the office was very helpful and friendly.
I loved that the office was technologically up to date with Macs and iPads. I filled out all of my ‘paper’ work online at home, so all I needed to do when I checked in was give some signatures. I also had to bring my family with me, which is always stressful for me because I didn’t want them to be too loud, but the office was also equipped with mounted iPads for them to play games on. With dental/​teeth apps of course. And the TV was also controlled so that it showed kid friendly shows. I hardly even heard them!
My root canal was completely bearable. Dr. Yuen worked efficiently and checked in on me periodically to make sure I was doing alright. I unfortunately have had root canals in the past, and this by far was the most ‘pleasant’ one that I had to go through.
Dr. Yuen also did a follow up call a couple of days after my procedure to see how I was healing. That was very much appreciated. I highly recommend Elite Endodontics!

Dr. Yuen and Bianca were very nice and made me feel really relaxed despite the pain I was experiencing before I arrived. Dr. Yuen did an excellent job of explaining my problem and treatment options. Bianca explained the cost and administrative stuff clearly and efficiently.
The office is very nice and smartly decorated with coffee and cold drinks in the waiting area.
