Elena’s Filipino Food Truck is bringing a taste of Waipahu to Honolulu. Find him early cuz stuff sells out. By 12:30 pm there was no more Pork Adobe Fried Rice Omlette, no Lechon Kawali, so poor me had to make do with a 3 choice combo Sari Sari, Gisantes, and Dinguan for $ 7.25. Food is hearty and full of fatty, porky goodness. If you can find the truck you can score pretty good Filipino Food for a great price.

This review is specifically for the truck that stops in the Mapunapuna area on Wednesdays. I work near the Servco Honolulu dealership in Mapunapuna and one of Elena’s food truck stops by every Wednesday. They’re parked outside of Marcus and Associates at 11:30am and moves to Servco’s service area at 12pm. My coworkers and I call Wednesdays«Elena’s Wednesdays». They normally have a variety of choices like pansit, chicken papaya, pork guisantes, chicken adobo, pinakbet, balatong, and dinuguan(sp?) just to name a few. They are known for their adobo fried rice omelet, which you’re also able to purchase from their food trucks. My favorite combination is the adobo fried rice omelet with pork guisantes. This portion is huge, so if you have a hearty appetite this is a good meal to have. If not, you can always save the leftovers for the next day. :) It gets pretty busy for the workers around the area know the times the truck stops by so do get there early to get the choices you want. It’s very rare, but there were a couple of times where they have ran out of a couple of choices on the menu. In conclusion, I recommend this food truck. If you’re looking for awesome Filipino food, with reasonable portions and prices, this is the food truck for you! They also post their locations and specials/menu for the day on their Twitter account, so it might be a good idea to follow them to get updates.

I ate here during Eat the Street and I had the banana lumpia. They were good, but nothing special. They had apple and banana in them so they were the perfect sweetness.

Adobo fried rice omelet comes clutch again! The crew didn’t want to stand in lines for Eat The Street, but Elena’s got serving crowds on lock. They never have long lines cus you order and your food is in your hands! And the banana lumpia was awesome. And the staff is SUPER friendly. My friends were painting and didn’t have enough light, and Elena’s let them borrow some portable lighting. Mahalo for making the night excellent!
