Horrible costumer service! I came in here excited to get a very small easy with no detail matching tattoo with my husband. I spoke to a very unprofessional lady who calls herself «Friday» to start off as soon as a walked in she greeted us then walked away Because I was talking to my husband about where we should get our tattoos. I stood by the counter waiting for her to come back to help us for a few minutes. She came back with a bad attitude and says something along the lines of «I’m just waiting for you to finish talking «we start to discuss what we want and I’m mid sentence and she walks away from me and starts talking to my friend whose not getting a tattoo about the symbol we are getting. Completely ignoring the fact I was in the middle of telling her how I wanted it done. She continues to ignore us for about 5 minutes while chit chatting with my friend. Every second that went by made me angry. I finally Interrupt them to get the quote. She says minimum starts at $ 80. Such a rip off. I wanted a stick figure symbol the size of a quarter. My husband wanted his bigger but we never did get around to his price. Once again she walks away to go print off our symbol. Never once asks us how we want it drawn. I finally got such a rush of bad vibes from her that we both agreed we didn’t want her tattooing us. We made up a story about coming back but really it was bc she paid no attention to our needs and only cared about talking to my friend about herself. I told her we would come back later in the week. NOT! and to top it all off she says maybe you’ll change your mind by then and get a cute little turtle tattoo instead. I couldn’t even believe it. It’s 3 days later and I’m still thinking about how she treated me and how angry I am with the situation. Sadly we are leaving with no tattoos thanks to this clown of an employee

This was my very first tattoo. I was worked on by Chet. He was very patient and comforting and took the time to show my how everything would go and all about the process and what to look for (or runaway) in a tattoo shop. I was very happy with how my tattoo turned out… he did an excellent job! Thank you Chet!

Would not recommend this place. Went in with an idea and all the guy did was tear my idea apart. Had been tatted here before and the result was mediocre at best (have 4 others done in another state that are constantly admired). Definitely lacking in both professionalism and artistry

While on our honeymoon we decided to get some type of tattoo to show we were here. After I get my quote and art done the next morning I check the account and notice an added on an extra $ 40 (extra 40 we didnt have saved to spend ((budget)) and didnt even have the common courtesy to tell me! Be weary everyone they add a service charge but drops off once cleared. Kind of rude not to say so

They are amazing !!! I had a tribal tattoo on my foot that was about 12 years old. Wes was able to do a custom price that is so beautiful ! I would recommend this place to anyone !!! Thank you guys so much!

Came to Hawaii to see the Pro Bowl and celebrate my 45^th a little early. I had been wanting more ink, and a Co-​Worker recommended this place, so I thought why not. We were greeted by Mika, and since my GF wanted to get something too, she started explaining what she wanted. After a few back and forth conversations, He came back with a design she really liked and he started work on hers.
I had been told to ask for Peggy but she was with a client so I decided to wait. After about 90 mins though, and my GF almost done, I started to get a little antsy and was going to come back another time. About that time Makua and another guy walked in. I think the guy could tell I was thinking of coming back, so He came over and started talking to me and what I wanted, etc.
After a few minutes he brought Makua over and we talked about what I wanted done, and Makua explained what he could and couldn’t do about an older Tattoo I wanted to deemphasize with the new work. After a bit, Makua showed me his design and after finalizing it, he started to work.
It’s a lengthy process but the tv was on and the guys and I talked story for the 3 – 4 hours it took, so it flew by. When the Tattoo was done, it was everything that I hoped for. It looks great and blends in nicely with some previous work, and «hid» a little of the Tattoo I wanted to show less of. I wanted an original Koi and Makua drew up something awesome, while still maintaining the theme of my previous works. I will definitely come back when it’s time to have more work done. I called Electric Paradise Tattoo yesterday to ask A question and this is how the conversation went:
Me: I was wondering if you guys do watercolor tattoos?
The guy on the phone responded «We do real tattoos, the ones that last forever.»
Me: «Okay but I am specifically interested in the new watercolor technique I have seen. The reason I called you guys is because a lady that works at Lulu’s had one and I asked her where she got it done and she said this place.
Guy: «Well if she said she got it done here then someone here probably did it so you can bring a picture in and we’ll see what we can do.
Me: «I would prefer to have it done by someone who is familiar with the technique. Thanks»
Guy: just HANGS UP
I AM local and I felt like this guy just thought I was another annoying tourist. I guess they don’t need the business by the horrible customer service I received. I am going to get A LOT of work done but this place will not be getting any of my money! Aloha!

So I was moving to the mainland and before I left I wanted to get a tattoo to signify my coming of age and growth on Oahu. This was a spur of the moment decision (as are most of mine) and I wanted to act before I changed my mind. After calling a couple places Electric Paradise was the only to answer and able to take me in as soon as I got there. Heading to Waikiki with my best girls we found the parlor and proceeded to walk up the steps. The place was clean, calm, and actually pretty cool. I love the way they decorated with all the art.
We were greeted by Niko, who at first was quite cold to us. I think maybe he was having a bad day or thought our nervous giggling and silliness was annoying, but c’mon dude! I wanted something no bigger than a quarter right on the inside of my ankle, until he told me it was going to be $ 75! Are you fucking kidding me?! I am aware most tattoo parlors have a minimum charge, but I could have gone to the ink pit and get something for much cheaper. Then again we were in Waiks (add $ 10+) and he probably thought we were tourists (add $ 10+). I hate it when people assume were stupid and don’t get things because were young ladies and don’t through out pidgin. After discussing it with the girls we were just about to leave, but decided to stay.
I explained what I wanted, how big, and where I wanted it and he quickly drew it up for me. Although he was a little hesitant at first saying it would be too small and that the placement wouldn’t be great, we stuck to our guns and he eventually gave in as well. After all it’s going to be on my body forever dude, just give me what I want. You could tell he started to warm up to us after a while. We were all joking around and laughing and I could even see him crack a smile! He ended up being a really sweet guy and did a great job. He even lowered the price to something actually reasonable, but I paid him the $ 75 anyways and told him to keep the rest. Hope we didn’t annoy you too much and you had a better day Mr. Niko :]
Would I come here again? Eh, maybe. If your in Waiks and trying to get a tat I would recommend it, but I’m sure there are other places you could go for a much more reasonable price.

They were really nice and quick. My sisters and I walked in and got immediate appointments which got moved up even earlier which was awesome! The artists did an amazing job. All the tattoos came out beautifully. John and Makua were both extremely quick, professional and awesome. I would come back here again.

Although their tattoo work looks like it’s pretty good, my experience was 100% NEGATIVE. I went into Electric Paradise in late May 2012 and met John Francis, who I paid in advance for a tattoo concept drawing that he promised to deliver within a week. Nothing. After a MONTH of trying to reach John, or the manager, or ANYONE else willing to talk to me, and leaving numerous call back messages– I finally gave up on ever getting what I paid for.
I had to dispute the CC transaction through my bank and write this place off. Based on their other reviews, it’s pretty clear they can do great tattooing– but if you’re investing $$$ like I was, integrity matters– and that’s where they’re missing the boat.

This shop was recommended to me by a coworker who has had several pieces on his arm and shoulders done by an artist here.
I walked in one day to check the place out and was greeted by Peggy who was about to start work on a client. She took the time to find out exactly what I wanted & suggested I email her some pictures of some ideas for her drawing.
A week later I come back and am ready for my tattoo!:) Peggy had a beautiful drawing all ready for the stencil & it was exactly what I wanted. She then went to work, trying the entire time to make the process as painless as possible (it’s a tattoo so how painless can it really be? lol), also making sure I was comfortable the entire time.
By the time the tattoo was done (3 hours), I had a beautiful work of art covering my shoulder and sleeve:) And it was worth every bit of pain!
I plan on coming back to have more work done by Peggy. She is a great artist & I definitely recommend her!

IF YOU WANT A CUSTOM TATTOO THIS IS THE PLACE.
Was on the hunt for my first tattoo and had originally planned to stop by another parlor on the recommendation of a cuz. Decided to swing in EP as I walked by just to see what they had to offer. When I first walked up the counter dude wasn’t very engaging but as soon as I started asking questions he was spot on with helping me out. I wanted a custom tattoo and not an off the wall design. They right away got to work and were eager to help adding their advice on what would be best for the tattoo.
I came back a few days later after the final design was all worked out to get started. Mika got to work and just did an amazing job. Being my first ink the communication thru the whole process was great. Don’t know why I feared getting this done for so long.
I’ll definitely be back for more custom work.

Everyone here was extremely nice and helpful! I was intimidated at first due to other reviews and especially since I’m a small girl. But after going there and seeing for myself, I have no idea what other people are talking about.
I just got my first tattoo done by Peggy and I simply love her! She’s amazing! It took about 3 hrs and it’s well worth the wait and cost.
When I booked my appointment there was walk-​ins that were getting a tattoo done and complaining about the cost. If you’re gonna complain just keep in mind YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
I will definitely come back if I get another one and definitely get another one from Peggy.

I have almost an entire half sleeve (and soon to be more!) by Peggy Jordan. I found her by a random google search for an image I wanted and loved her artistic style, so I walked in to meet her and immediately made an appointment.
Her shading style is what really sets her apart. My tattoos look realistic and are true works of art. Peggy is definitely a perfectionist, and it shows. She is pretty flexible with her appointments, but expect her to want you to come in for a consultation before your actual appointment. (I see this as total professionalism on her part so that you truly get exactly what you want, instead of something that could be hurried or rushed.)
Everyone at the shop is always super friendly, and the cleanliness is top notch. For being in the heart of Waikiki, pricing is not horrendous, but is still pricier than what you may be used to paying elsewhere. However, you definitely get what you pay for!

I have known Peggy since before this shop opened. I had seen some of her work at her previous shop and had gotten a tattoo. I was very impressed so I had decided to get more. She brought me over when Electric Paradise Tattoo opened. I have no doubts that the other artists working in the shop are not as equally talented.
The tattoos that I have gotten from Peggy have been excellent. I get compliments daily on my tattoos. I could not be any less satisfied with the time that I have spent here. Going here might be a little more on the pricey side, but quality tattoos cost money. If you want a cheap tattoo, it will look cheap. Peggy will work with you to give you exactly what you want. If you don’t have a picture she can draw up something beautiful also.
I also wanted to say something on behalf of some of the negative reviews that I have read about this place. I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but everyone knows that getting tattoos are a timely process. Knowing what and where to get something and when you can be able to do it are big factors. Tattoo artists are always honest with you about the pros and the cons. I mean afterall, you are an adult and responsible for your own body, and they dont need to sugar coat it cuz it doesn’t really matter to them either way. I don’t think you need to walk in a tattoo shop and expect to be treated like royalty if you don’t speak up that you are actually interested in getting work done.

I got my first tattoo here. For some reason I was determined to get one on a specific day and I had tried three other places prior to finding this place (just walking and and seeing if there was availability-​impromptu) and no one was available. By the time I got here, it was very late, but the lady agreed to do my tattoo anyway. Considering that I did not do my research beforehand, I got lucky. The tattoo turned out well, considering.
PARKING: There is a parking lot behind the place. I do not know how much it costs and there is limited space. There is also a lot parking about five or six blocks away near the military hotel that usually has spots available (this lot is very inexpensive for anyone with a military ID).

An update:
I was recently on the Island again and wanted to get a background for the Tiki on my right shoulder. I had the Tiki done here originally last year by Makua. Went in a week before and made an appointment and left a deposit.
Showed up a week later for the appointment and Makua sat me down and proceeded to go to town on my arm with an ink pen for an hour. What he came up with was a fantastic tropical background for my Tiki (Center one on sheet 139 on the wall). He then spent four hours (yes 4) bringing it to life on my arm. Best tattoo experience of my life to date! The guy is an artist and I am impressed. Out the door for $ 450. My oldest was again with me and had a friend of hers along, both got inked as well, both had a good experience.
I also had an Ankle tat done by Peggy (PJ) earlier in the year.
I can’t say enough good things about this place and the staff. Sure, they may look scary but keep an open mind and don’t expect to get inked when you walk in, be ready to make an appointment. They get busy and there is only so much time in a day. If you get to know them, you’ll like them and you’ll want to keep going back whenever your on island.
