History
Established in 2003.
The law firm Costa & DeLacy, LLLC was established in 2003 by friends and business partners Brian A. Costa and James A. DeLacy. The firm is presently solely operated by Brian A. Costa due to the unfortunate and untimely passing of James A DeLacy in 2011.
The firm focuses primarily on criminal defense work, with concentrations in operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant (commonly referred to to OVUII or DUI), excessive speeding, and other criminal and traffic related matters in the Hawaii State District Court.
Mr. Costa’s past work experience includes work as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney for the City & County of Honolulu, a Law Clerk for the Honorable Retired Supreme Court Justice Simeon R. Acoba, Jr., and an associate for the firm Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel.

Brian A. Costa is now the sole owner and attorney for the Law Firm Costa & DeLacy, LLLC. He is an experienced criminal defense attorney that has chosen to focus his practice on cases in the Hawaii State District Court. His practice handles cases such as operating a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant (commonly referred to as OVUII or DUI), racing, reckless driving, excessive speeding, and other criminal and traffic matters.
He has represented well over 1,000 individuals charged with DUI and other criminal and traffic matters. His extensive experience as a criminal defense attorney, and previous experience as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the City and County of Honolulu, make him intimately familiar with how the prosecution builds its case against an individual, such as yourself. He will use his skills and experience to assist you in navigating through the often complex and confusing criminal courts while always keeping you informed, and seeking to protect your rights.
