After spending eleven years as a deputy public defender in Hawaii handling some of the most serious cases in the state, Jason opened his own practice in 2011. Jason is a 1996 graduate of the University of Missouri and a 1999 graduate of the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law. Jason served as a law clerk to the Honorable Victoria S. Marks prior to joining the Public Defender’s office.

I received my BA in International Studies from the University of Missouri in 1996. Following graduation, I moved to Honolulu and attended the University of Hawaii’s Richardson School of Law where I received my JD in 1999. Following graduation, I served as a law clerk to the Honorable Victoria S. Marks. In 2000, I accepted a position as a Deputy Public Defender and began my legal career working in the PD’s Hilo office. I transferred to the Honolulu office in 2003 and remained there until 2011. During my eleven-​year career with the PD’s, I represented indigent criminal defendants in the District, Family and Circuit Courts of Hawaii. I am a member of the National and Hawaii Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
