Central Vacuum Systems of the Pacific LLC

It was many years ago that I had the misfortune of doing business with this company. It was only in the last half decade that I realized what a conniving operator I had dealt with. Much of that was my own fault for trusting an individual with no moral scruples as I was aware of his depravity at that time. I was a fool to think that he could have changed for the better.
Let me start at the beginning. During the early ‘90s, I attended one of the home shows at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall when I came upon their booth and saw this individual, whom I had known from a decade before in the solar water heating business. He was very gregarious, a born salesman, so to speak, and I engaged him in a discussion about central vacuum systems. I had started a home renovation in which a central vac was being seriously considered. He represented himself as the owner of the company and a supplier for Electrolux, a brand I had previously bought as far as regular vacuum cleaners go.
I figured that I’d give him a break and get the central vac system from him. I preferred Electrolux over Vacu-​Maid and other brands. He was so eager for the business that he promised me not only a discounted price, but he would include a triple rotating brush Electrolux shampoo-​polisher with the deal. He showed up at my office within the week to pick up my deposit.
His crew showed up on time at my home to install the PVC pipes during construction and after the wiring was installed and the walls closed, to hang the power unit and install the vacuum inlet ports.
The system worked okay throughout the warranty period. Meanwhile, he had passed away and when I had system malfunctions with some electrical problems, I contacted the Aerus Electrolux service center in Kakaako. It was then that I learned how he «cut corners» and cheated me. He had substituted six inferior generic inlet ports instead of using genuine Electrolux components. The inlets had begun to short out and I found several of them non-​operational. Once a «con-​man,» always a «con-​man,» even to his acquaintances. I replaced these «bogus» items with the «real» stuff at my own expense.
I don’t wish to be unfair with those who presently operate this firm. But, I do wonder why they are not members of the Better Business Bureau and therefore have no BBB rating although they’ve been around for over a quarter century. BUYER BEWARE!
