Description

Specialties

Mexican food should be more than soggy tortillas and refried ideas. At Búho, we’re elevating Mexican cuisine one ingredient at a time. Locally-sourced poblanos, tomatillos, cilantro and lime mix with fresh thinking to reinvent Mexican food and raise the bar. More than street food, it’s haute stuff.

With Waikiki’s only open air roof top bar Búho’s staff of mixologists have created an array of signature cocktails to refresh the palate and remind you that this is no ordinary cantina. Our bar also boasts an impressive list of wines, beers and, of course, tequilas – as well as a full complement of whiskeys and aperitifs. Viva el Búho!

Meet the Manager

Arturo S.

Manager

Chef Arturo Silva was born in México City, México. With two brothers at home and a mother who worked, Arturo began learning the art of cooking Mexican cuisine at his mother Joséfina’s side, from the time he was 8 years old.

At the age of seventeen, he had his first restaurant job in Arizona, where he lived for thirteen years. Arturo soon fell in love with cooking and was inspired by watching other chefs transforming ordinary things to new and amazing creations. Arturo took each opportunity to add techniques and unique flavors to his repertoire with each new job experience.

His career as a chef has taken him far, working in kitchens across California, Boston, New York City, Las Vegas, and finally, in Honolulu. Chef Arturo brings his experience of traditional Mexican cooking but puts a newer innovative twist to elevate the traditional cuisine of his home town.
