American Savings Bank – Honolulu Walmart Branch

After two terrible experiences at other asb branches, we were going to give up and open an account at another bank. Since we were going to walmart, with low expectations, we stopped by to see if we could open our account there. The manager, Sid, helped us immediately and smoothly opened a new account for us. His great customer service and genuine friendliness made up for the horrible service at chinatown and mccully branches. Walmart asb also has great hours!

I love coming here because its convenient to my work, and because the staff is great. Only down fall is that it can get busy.

I try to avoid the bank at the last hours before closing because it always seems to be busy! Everyone has the same idea that it won’t be but we are all wrong!
ASB isn’t my bank so I am not familiar with their banking and the customer service other than this one experience. Walmart is already busy to begin with and you add a bank near the checkout lines and it is traffic-​rama! I was waiting in line with 5 other people and you could barley move because you have crazy cart drivers trying to run you over. You aren’t in there way but they try to make you the target, seriously people stay in your area!
So the lines is intimating but it does flow smoothly, but when I was next in line for the teller I was extremely annoyed because this one teller was talking stories to this customer like there was no one else in line. It is a nice gesture that they try to connect with you but seriously can you speed up the convo…
When it was finally my turn my teller was very nice and I had to cash my tax money but then she wanted to give me bills of 20s and I just thought that was annoying, am I seriously gonna walk around with a bunch of 20s in my wallet. uh NO! She didn’t bother asking me what type of bills I wanted… so i’m glad to say this is not my bank!
