Ambassador Hotel

Not a very smart decision to book this hotel. Everything is very old in the room, and the air conditioner is really really loud. Garbage trucks start working at 4 – 5 am! Yes, 4 am! So there is no need to set alarm in the morning. $ 26 parking fee per day, and there is $ 20 service fee every day~ will never come back again!

One of the worst «hotels» (and I use the term loosely) I’ve stayed at. Me and my girlfriend had the misfortune of staying here Dec 29 to Jan 1^st.
At check-​in they inform you that there is a $ 20/​night «resort fee» on top of what you paid. What an obnoxiously shady bait-​and-​switch. Also $ 26/​night for self-​parking. Also, there is no parking available, so have fun driving around the neighbourhood looking for a parking spot every night.
On the plus side they give you a free bag of water when you check in. Yep. A bag. Of water. Ok.
The hotel is run-​down and feels more like a hostel. Most of the guests seem to be students and backpackers (or druggies or whatever.)
The hallways and room smell like mildew, to the point of making you feel ill. I don’t think the carpets have been changed since the 80s.
The rooms have concrete block walls, giving it an exotic prison-​ey vibe. Pretty sweet if you’re into dungeons.
The air conditioner is absurdly loud and sounds like a jet engine. It will wake you up 3 times a night when it seemingly tries to take off.
The shower is tiny and dirty.
The staff are rude.
Seriously just don’t stay here. It’s not worth ruining your vacation to save a few $. You’re better off camping on the beach.

I’m checking into this hotel today hoping to change my review from reading everything is mostly terrible. Here’s hoping some of the reviews are not true.

I recently just stayed at this hotel, and it had a lot of negatives, in my opinion. I stayed here for two nights and when we checked out, we found out that we were charged an extra $ 100 dollars supposedly for a security deposit when we were already charged that amount when we checked in. They tried explaining it, and while doing so, had so much attitude and rudeness. I wouldn’t stay here. But their managers were great and really helped us when the staff couldn’t.

If you are looking for a place to do drugs, party, hook, or detox in… this is a good hotel for you.
Some highlights: I thought I would get dirtier if I took a shower, I felt like I would get bed bugs from the spring bed (didn’t know hotels still used these beds), and I didn’t want to walk around barefoot in my room because the floor felt gross.
Honestly, if Emelyn wasn’t there we would have left this dingy hotel and slept on the grassy knoll down the street. If she is there when you get there you will want to give her a hug and be very thankful.

I booked my reservations thru their website with ease. I had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised and happy to write a positive review.
My room was spacious and clean. There wasn’t a lot of artsy décor in the room, mostly bare walls, but I didn’t mind that. Bathroom was very clean and had nice towels. I had a kitchenette in my room and a king size bed. The balcony was large but I didn’t use it. I was on the 3^rd floor which is where the pool is. I spent most of my time walking around Waikiki so I didn’t use many of the amenities.
The staff was VERY helpful and friendly and answered all my questions. They also gave me a complimentary collapsible water bottle which was a nice thing to use. There is a resort fee of $ 20 bucks per day but even with that the hotel still had the best value for the price.
Overall, I had chosen this hotel for the price not for the frills. This hotel is doing it right so that’s why I’m giving 4 stars. I would absolutely stay here again!

This hotel was quite secure … so I thought … until we went out to a party. Upon our return the front door was ajar and lanai door was open. My friends credit card was missing. Tried to express our concern to front desk but all they said was that they couldn’t see anyone that swiped a key to get in our room but us. WHAT!!! Yes, an unauthorized person that came to rob us would definitely have our room key, right!!! Unbelievable!!!
The shower floor was moldy, blankets were «holey», and ice machine was on 2^nd floor. We were on 14^th floor with no ice bucket provided. We luckily had a bag that we filled ice in. Yes, there is no ice machine on EVERY floor, just in the 2^nd floor.
The reason for three stars is because it had a full kitchen. That’s it.

I spent the weekend at ambassador and i was a lil worried with the bed bugs and peeled furniture and all those flaws i heard. But i had no problems what so ever ! Me and my bf had a great staycation and even doe it wasnt on thw strip. The strip was really nearby. Which was great for us. Theres an ABC store and whalers nearby so thats a plus for us. the only issued i had was the shower water. Took sometime for us to have some hot water in the shower. But othwr than that i had a great time. And also they give free reusable water bottles that u can refill at the hotel water machines ((:

Looks like they’re attempting to appear as though they care about their customers online… It’s almost a month after I first checked in here & I have no idea why they would even come on to this review and attempt to say they tried to rectify anything about my stay. At NO time at checkout did they try to fix anything. And as I said in my original review, they tacked on an additional $ 100 with no logical reason at checkout. A month later is horrible customer service on rectifying a situation & if the only good experience that you can say I had at your hotel is ‘good weather’ that is really sad.

Took my room charge upon booking (which normally its taken after checking out) … On top of that, taking $ 100 for a DEPOSIT fee per night, instead of keeping a card in file, PLUS a $ 20 amenity fee which i swear I paid for upon booking. Love how these shady side street hotels get you with hidden fees.

Very old, fairly clean, but needs completely refurbished. Lifts are slow but staff are friendly. And close to the beach and downtown.

To book this hotel, you better think it over and over again.
Room door was seriously tampered, it was not yet repaired, tbe room safe is removable to any where as you like,
you will never feel comfortable and security. Air-​condition sounds like factory, not enough for the room size, no air reach the toilet.
Will never recommend to anyone.

Do not stay here. We found a bikini liner in the inside of the bedroom in their «upgraded» room. Very upset that they advertised on Orbitz as a 3 star hotel and have major issues with everything from dirty rooms, carpet, chipped paint, ripped curtains, cracked shower tiles, stained walls, etc. Do not stay here. This hotel deserves no stars but I was not able to put zero.

I booked this hotel from 7÷9÷15 to 7÷16÷15 and I was pleasantly surprised. I was adamant once I had read the previous Unilocal reviews and I am glad my experience was the opposite. This hotel met all my traveling needs. It is not a five star hotel, but if you are booking you SHOULD already know this. The lobby staff was very helpful, housekeeping gets the job done, maintenance (if needed) is there and the amenities are definitely a plus.
My hotel room was located on the 4^th floor and it was a wonderful. Cleanliness was a PLUS! My room had a brand new A/​C, carpet, fridge and the bathroom was big. I had two queen beds and they were comfortable. Balcony was spacious and useful. The hotel kitchenette included microwave, toaster, water kettle, dishes, pots and any extra utensils needed were provided by front desk immediately. There is NO BED BUGS! Previous Unilocaler that posted that review really misrepresents this hotel and it is very sad. That review REALLY made me stress out!
The Ambassador hotel does charge a daily resort fee of $ 20 something dollars and parking charge is $ 25 daily, BUT they do not try to hide this in any way, shape or form. They disclosed of ALL fees at the time of check-​in (Those of you booking through a 3^rd party… READ THE SMALL FONT! It’s disclosed there too (Expedia Travelers). They have a laundry room, gym that includes 2 treadmills, 2 cycling bikes, 2 elliptical’s, weights etc… the laundry room saved my life! Humidity can be pretty bad in Hawaii, so if you try to «AIR DRY» your clothes, you might want make use of the laundry room or deal with bad odors.
The pool was very clean and I enjoyed it very much. The pool area has bathrooms and showers. The only down side is their daily operational hours are from 10am to 7pm. I really wish it was open later.
The hotel provides fresh water for FREE! They give you this re-​usable yellow water bottle. Trust me when I say this… you easily save anywhere from $ 50 to $ 100 on just water if you stay at least a week in Hawaii. A bottled water in Hawaii will cost you $ 3.50 and up. Thank you Ambassador Hotel!
I really want to stress how the entire staff were very attentive and professional. The staff in the Ambassador hotel superseded my expectations and they get the job done. Housekeeping needs to be recognized for their thorough work in providing a clean and sanitary environment. Front desk ROCKS! They were very polite and helpful. You do get what you pay for and for those of you who are willing to give up a 4 to 5 star hotel to allocate your money on family outings, this is a good hotel to stay in and still be able to enjoy your stay. Hope this helps some of you.

I enjoyed my brief stay at this hotel. It wasn’t perfect, but it had some nice things and few objectionable things.
The view from my room on the 11^th floor was fantastic. It was also very nice by the elevator and down the hall.
The Ambassador values fresh water, so they have three dispensers for people to use. If you bring your own bottle or use the one that the hotel gives guests, you can fill it. The water tasted great.
The cleaning lady woke me up around 9 a.m. and I said, «Late checkout please» and I never heard from them again. I stayed late and left.
The microwave worked well. The shower was serviceable. The bathroom didn’t smell like mold or mildew. The carpets were clean and the TV and AC worked well.

This hotel is in an excellent location but the accommodations are crapy with a service that is equally crapy. The front desk people were very nice but the actual management of the hotel was not responsive. I recommend staying somewhere else.

To anyone who is considering to stay at this hotel, please DONT. Not worth the price even though it seems to be at a good price. The room was so bad, the bed sheet is white yet dirty, the room is small and even the toilet is bigger than the sleeping area, no ceiling light and the AC was noisy af (and they said it happens to all of the AC). They tried to charge us extra fees such as facilities fee 20 $ per room, $ 25 for parking per day, the wifi access is limited for each devices. The balcony was wet, the view was nothing but building blocks. The hotel gave me such bad impression, really disappointed.
Im not a picky one but it was an exception. Dont let them fool you. I hope you will make a wise decision!

Guys, I’m very disappointed. I booked a different hotel from Hawaiian Airlines website, but after clicking confirm, the site glitched and gave me Ambassador. I wanted an Ocean View from a different hotel, and I’m not sure how Ambassador came up and gave me a city view with 3 single beds.
WTF? I tried everything but nobody from Ambassador will let me get a refund, change my dates, or even UPGRADE my room! How is this fair???
I am double booked now at a different hotel.
I’m not happy with this hotel. They said «USE IT OR LOSE IT».
I did not click and confirm this hotel yet they will not help me make things right.

First of all the rooms are way to expensive for what you get. When I arrived in the room, I was shocked to see that it was even worse than your average motel 6. I would not say it is the worst place I have stayed but it’s close to it. They also charge you a WiFi fee of 20 dollars on top of your 200 dollar room and 100 dollar deposit. I didn’t even need it but they charge you for the WiFi. Good thing I only stayed one night. Never again. I would pay 50 dollars more to stay at a nicer place next time.
PS. The people at the front desk are rude. The place smells.

Front desk staff is friendly with the exception of the older woman who works at night. Stayed with my guy here for a day after staying at my friends house. Housekeeping staff is awesome, kept us stocked with fresh towels and toiletries. The one star is for my bed bug. yes BED BUG experience here. Woke up at like 2am scratching. Turned on the lights and we see it crawling. My arm is bit, my chest bit and my guys arm by his pits but he’s so sunburned he can’t feel his body lol. Manager informed me there’s no Benadryl on site and stores were closed :-/
They were professional by moving us immediately & confirmed it was indeed a bed bug and offered a paramedic to be called. Driving to the airport at this moment to fly home because I feel terrible. Aloha !
I reduced to one star because after my bedbug incident here a general anger was supposed to contact me (or so we were told) also no calls returned. Therefore this hotel gets 1 star (a half of one if it were possible). Hopefully room 809 was properly quarantined and cleaned!
