Fairly cheap bentos and a good assortment, but I found a hair in the rice of one of my bentos. Probably not the cleanest place.

Been here a couple of times. Previously purchased saimin bowl(asked for just soup and noodles as my teeth were sensitive at the time but got the full condiments…) next time I purchased their dynamite roll, tempura avocado cucumber and spicy ahi on top. Delicious! I will go back specifically for the dynamite roll every time. If you’re one of those people that want«freshly made» don’t be afraid to ask, they’re very nice and courteous.

If I’m right, this is the one over at the Pioneer Plaza. I’m always here for their spicy ahi bowl and the dinner bento. Sometimes I pick up their regular lunch bentos. I’m always happy picking up food there because it always tastes great and I didn’t spend big bucks for sushi. The woman who rings up the food is always courteous and nice.

Delicious vege and cucumber rolls. Helpful service too as one of the rolls appeared to be vegetarian but actually had shrimp.

I come here when I’m in a pinch for lunch and not really feeling anything else in Pioneer Plaza at that particular time. Their bentos come in all sizes and are filled with different types of meats, veggies, etc. I’ve had some of their sushi, but I never tried one of their rolls. I always seem to be in a rush and don’t/can’t wait three minutes for my roll to be made! Maybe one day I’ll try one or two of their rolls and see if I like them better than the bentos! The ladies working there are pretty nice, for as busy as they can get — I’ve always been helped with a smile and always been thanked at the end of my transaction… I like the little things!

I could eat sushi everyday. Maybe even twice a day. Aloha Sushi is not exactly gourmet, but it does satisfy my sushi craving when I’m at work. I prefer this location over the others in the area because of the variety of not only sushi, but bentos and bowls as well. In addition, the ladies that work here are nice and always answer any questions you might have. And, unlike some of the other restaurants in this building(which shall remain nameless), it is very clean. The prices are average for a take out sushi place, and quality is good. You can get a bento and a few pieces of sushi for about $ 10, which I think is a good deal for downtown. All in all a good choice for a quick lunch that is guaranteed to satisfy every time. Definitely a place that’s going to stay on my downtown lunch crawl roster.

After the new owner purchased this place, she is amazing. I love that they have prepacked bentos and they also offer brown rice with all their dishes which is not common in Downtown Honolulu. She even takes credit cards now, she just keeps getting better;)

I love this place! I eat here all the time for lunch ’cause it’s the fastest and easiest for me. It’s better than going to McDonald’s or Subway! That’s for sure. I always get either their california hand rolls, chicken gyoza, chicken katsu, or chicken don — All soooooooooo good. Their chicken gyoza and chicken don also come with imitation crab and a cucumber on the side. And I love this. To me, it’s like a little something extra. :) Hahaha. Their gyoza is amazing. I love it because the ends are crispy! It’s sooooo good. :) I ALWAYS have to have it! Their cali hand rolls are good. I can’t complain. Once, I got their spicy ahi maki. F THAT! That stuff is so freakin’ hot. And IDK. They make it differently? They put the sauce on the top. .. Not all mixed in. But, yeah. .. I don’t know. It was too hot! I even went and bought a carton of milk it was that hot! My boyfriend kept eating it. .. But I don’t know why because he thought it was hot too. And when we went back the next time, he said, «It’s nice to have a sushi experience that doesn’t end in tears.» Umm. .. The service for the most part is good, but sometimes they can be a little iffy. .. Some days they’re REALLY nice! And some days they’re. .. Not nice at all. More on the grouchy side I guess. And it can get kind of irritating. And sometimes the food takes FOREVER to come out! What. The. Heck?! One time, I was the ONLY one in the store. .. And I ordered chicken katsu. I swear to God. .. It took like 15 minutes for my food to get to me. I was so annoyed. Overall though, I’ve had more good experiences than bad ones, I eat here all the time, I love their food, and I would recommend it!

Probably the lowest quality«commercialized» sushi you can get on the island. The fish is not fresh and everything tastes the same(salty).

Umm, warning: They make their spicy ahi roll with sriracha sauce(or something similar), not with anything mayo-based. «Isn’t it still spicy?» asks my friend. Well, yes, but. .. not quite what I was expecting out of a spicy ahi roll. And I got two. Well, damn.

I LOVE this Aloha Sushi! The handrolls are super yummy! My favorites are the spicy veggie roll and spicy egg roll! Sara the owner is the nicest sushi lady ever, and she recognizes her regular customers and remembers their orders. And her sushi rice is the best I’ve ever tasted — she prepares them fresh daily! Unlike some other sushi bars I know that serves crusty unseasoned rice and charges more! Last I heard she’s planning to sell, so check it out before she does!
