Decent lunch option for local food. The mini garlic chicken was tasty; it was not deep fried but sauteed with tons of garlic. However, it’s a far walk from anything unless you work near restaurant row.

I ordered one of their specials for $ 7.99, Ahi Steak and BBQ Chicken combo. I’ve been here a lot of times years before and I know their garlic chicken is bomb so I asked to sub the BBQ chicken for the garlic chicken($ 0.50) more. The garlic chicken tasted exactly how I remembered it, Awesome! The ahi steak however, was dry and tough. It seemed frozen and like it didn’t have enough time to thaw? I would not recommend the ahi steak. I also enjoy their breakfast, its a little over $ 3 for meat, 2 eggs and rice. There are a lot of tables and chairs if you decide to dine in. You have to pay for metered parking. They offer a wide variety of lunch plates are very cheap prices. I recommend the garlic chicken plate! thin slices of chicken with minced garlic and green onions! mmmm. :D Cash only! Unilocal 365 Challenge # 18⁄365.

Very good garlic chicken plate! Their hamburgers are also home made. The price is reasonable, $ 3.99 for a mini and $ 5.50−6.50 for a regular plate. The guy that took our order was also very nice! I would def come again!

Been coming here for years and never thought to right a review. Working in the Restaurant Row area you get burnt out on the limited amounts of places around here that are in walking distance. Aikane Café has never let me down though. Their garlic chicken is a winner as is their mochiko chicken. They have a nice sized menu with local favorites like chicken katsu, bbq chicken, etc, and chinese plates like shrimp w/black bean sauce and choy sum. Everything on the menu is your typical $ 4 — $ 7 but they definitely don’t skimp on the food. Mini plates are just the right size and the regular plates will kieep you full for the rest of the day… unless you’re a fatty, haaah. I definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the area.

I love this place. No atmosphere, no frills, but great variety of stuff, good portions, and fantastic comfort food for the«local dining» aficianado — with King’s Bakery gone this place is my favorite for Loco Moco or Hamburger Steak Plate with thick brown«truck stop» gravy. While you wait a few short minutes for your order you can peruse the newspaper lying on the table or the advertizements for cars and trucks in the Penny Saver news rack. Again, this place is a real«hole in the wall» with no décor, no atmosphere, but this being said the food is great(within the limitations oft the genre).

Affordable and better than McDonalds. They have other things on the menu that I’ve tried, but their cheese burger combo is a definite winner for the price! =0)

I was hungry on MLK Jr. Day but everything was closed. I drove by this place and it said«OPEN» so I stopped and tried it out. The place is small and because of the holiday I was the only person. I looked at the menu and a Steak and Garlic Shrimp plate caught my eye. It was $ 8.99 so why not. The steak was a good size probably about 6 — 8 oz with 5 pieces of shrimp. The steak came out medium rare, the way I ordered it. Seasoned with salt and pepper it was good. The Garlic shrimp was«garlicy»! I probably won’t be kissing my wifey on this day but it was so good. I also noticed on the menu a shrimp burger for $ 2.75. BBQ chicken plate for $ 5.50. Just garlic shrimp for $ 6.80. All reasonable prices for a good amount of food.
