Addiction Nightclub

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Went there last night and their fat bouncer jabbed me in the neck for no reason. Overly aggressive security, wildly expensive drinks, shitty staff. Don’t ever go to this bougie hell hole. O yeah, and guys get ready to throw down $ 20 to get in.

Bartenders and door people aren’t very friendly! And there’s always fights happening there :/​its not just one time either. They really need to get better security. Not safe at all !!!

The dj rotation is shockingly bad. Just when they start to play a current or recent hit, they ruin it just as quick as it begins. Oh, and be prepared to pay $ 20 to get into this tiny ass club!

This place wasn’t very good. Too crowded and rude service. The lady at the door was b*tch. Not going back.

Why is cover charge 20 bucks for men!!! This place is nothing like sky Waikiki. Sky is more up scaled so I can see them having a crazy cover charge like that, but addiction? No. Thursday nights are 20 bucks for men. Wow.

Modern, emotionless club. Staff is friendly but prices are too high and drinks aren’t mixed well.
Music is what defines 80% of a club. It’s like listening to the radio, the DJ had strange hiphop/​pop/​edm setup with no feeling for the crowd.
If you don’t care about the music and don’t crave originality in general, this might be for you. Avoid if otherwise.

Searching for clubbing in Honolulu? Apparently there aren’t many options. After researching on Unilocal and asking the locals, it’s apparent there are only a few known options: 1) Addiction 2) The M 3) Ultra (for partying until 4am) and 4) Rumours (but with a slightly older crowd). Due to the limited options, we ended up at Addiction both Friday and Saturday night. Ladies, you’ll have to pay $ 10 cover unless it’s Thursday night. We made friends with the bouncers, Eric and Zach on Friday and they got us in for free the following night. Top 40’s music all night, and the DJ was super cool (I requested the Nae Nae and he played it within the next 10 min versus some DJs that make you wait the entire night) Overall, it’s a fun place with a good mix of tourists and locals!
Tip: The party doesn’t start until closer to midnight, and they’ll recommend you to chill at their lounge next door, called The Study. It’s a nice, upscale set up that’s a good way to pass time before there party gets started at Addiction.

The nightlife selection in Oahu is pretty slim, especially after the Shack closed down a couple of years ago. So it’s always a struggle for us to find a crackin club with good beats for a great night out. Interestingly enough, Addiction nightclub was the answer to our solution when we wanted to go out clubbing on a Thursday night in March.
I haven’t been to too many nightclubs in Oahu but based on my experience, Addiction seems by far the coolest venue. The atmosphere on the night that we went was awesome. This place seemed upscale inside with the chandeliers, ample space for our bottle service tables, nice bathrooms, and no hassle entry, but maybe because one of our friends was working with the promoter that night.
However, I might say that the drinks seemed watered down. It seemed like I had way too many drinks, but never seemed too messed up. But it was still a good time overall. I’d probably suggest this place if anyone asked for some clubs to hit up in Oahu during their vacation.

One of the two actual clubs in Honolulu: the M and addiction, addiction can hold its own. The lobby bar crowd usually migrates directly to addiction given the proximity.
Positive: usually a good crowd of girls and guys dressed at least decently well. It’s especially nice if you’re able to meet people at lobby bar and the transition to addiction is simple. The line to get in is never terrible and even a group of guys shouldn’t have a huge hassle getting in. Thursday’s are lady’s night– girls get in for free and guys cover is reduced to $ 10.
Negatives: the cover for guys on Friday and Saturday is typically $ 20. At times there can be some aggressive groups of locals in there. Drinks aren’t cheap, expect to pay $ 10 – 15 per drink.

After a long break from going to addiction, one of my best wanted to do bottle service here for her birthday. I arrived early with a few friends, and we waited for the birthday girl before we ordered any bottles.
Upon her arrival, it took about 20 minutes before our bottle service girl came to take our order. After the bottle service girl came, it took 45 minutes before we got the bottle and got our first drinks. During this time, i went to the bar to order a few rounds of drinks.
the service was optimistically mediocre at the bottle service, but the bartenders do a good job and are quick if you keep it classy and take care of them. id much rather tip the bartenders and bar backs who actually do good work.
after a not so long night of drinks and mediocre service, we left leaving a bit more than their service charge anyway for good karma’s sake.
Addiction has such beautiful décor in their club that goes to a complete waste for such a small venue with the worst service at any of the current night clubs in Hawaii.

A lot of people told us to check this club out so we did. My first impression is the club pretty small, and the music is not that great. Although the bathroom is pretty fancy! :)
After we got to the club for about 10 minutes, I have to say the crowd is a mixture of older people and creepy guys… Our friend then tried to wave down one of the bartenders, he said, «Hey» and put his hand up. One of the 3 people behind bar came up, and told our friend, «We don’t like it when you speak to us that way»… My friend was caught off guard because honestly he wasn’t being offensive and all he said was hey, and of course he had to speak loudly for anyone to hear him because of the music. Our friend then responded, «Look I’m sorry man I’m not trying to be offensive I was just trying to get you guys attention cause you were far away». It went back and forth for a bit. At some point, the bartender had a very mean look and told our friend, and I quote, «You should remember you’re just a guest here, we can kick you out anytime we want, remember that». Just to clear things up, up until this point we weren’t cursing at him or anything, simply tried to tell him we were just trying to get a drink. After he said that, my friend asked if we could speak to the Manager and the bartender once again, responded very disrespectfully, «I’m the f***ing manager here. You speak to me». We walked to the front door and the girl who takes cover money from guests was surprised as why we were leaving so early, we asked her nicely if we can speak to the manager on duty, she said sure and texted him to come out. Not surprising to us, it wasn’t the bartender.
The only reason I’m giving this club a 1 star is because the GM was being extremely professional and very reasonable. We told him our experience with the bartender and he offered to give us back our cover that we paid ($ 50) and offered to take us upstairs (this club is inside the Modern hotel where they have another bar upstairs) to get us a drink (which we respectfully declined) and he promised to have a talk with his employee. The GM’s reaction was priceless when we told him that the bartender claimed he was the manager of the place.
I’m not sure what the bartender’s deal was, but we say hey to a lot of bartenders out there when we go to bars/​clubs/​lounges and no one ever found it offensive. And I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone as long as I know that guy still works there. I regret that I didn’t ask for his name from the GM. Horrible experience!

Very small club. Probably one of the smallest club I’ve ever been. 99% of the music is hiphop. 99.9% of the guys are creepy. Met few other local random girls at the club and they said the same thing. Lot of creepy guys kept hitting on them.
I like the interior tho and the light bulbs look-​alike hanging down the ceiling. I think the ceiling lights is a little too bright for a club.

well if you’re like me and you talk better than you look, prolly not the best place to meet the lady folk. The music is nice and loud for dancing but a good conversation is hard to have.
It’s relatively small and feels pretty tightly packed. The staff treated us well and we did the whole bottle service bit which was a lot more affordable than other places I’ve been. I would have thought it was cool maybe a decade ago… but alas I’m old and pake and don’t see the value but whatever, my group of youngsters really dug it so I guess it was worth it.
The bouncers do seem fairly aggressive which is fine by me as the folks I saw them get more physical with definitely deserved or look like they deserved it. In that regard, perhaps it’s one of the last bastions of Honolulu nightlife where douches get the slaps they so desperately need.

I absolutely hate clubbing. It’s not you, Addiction, it’s me.
I can’t hate on this club too much because it has some good qualities one would look for at a night club. Let me count the ways…
–Good music. DJ Anit is spinning on Saturdays. There’s a good mix of hip hop and EDM. I dig it
-$ 5 bar. It is located right after the stairs before the actual club entrance. Alcohol choices are very limited but beggars can’t be choosers so I usually make a beeline for that bar.
–Nice bathrooms without an awkward attendant working for tips
But the cons…
–Nothing good ever comes outta this place for me. Yes, it’s a personal problem but it’s forever associated in my mind after the first time… and the third… and the fourth. I quit.
–The never ending line. It’s 10:30 PM and there’s a line. After what seems like an eternity, I finally get inside and the club is EMPTY.
–No parking! There’s some along the hotel or valet but on a bumpin’ night, good luck.
Anyway, I don’t plan on going back there. Decent club but just not for me… or any other club.

There’s only so many night clubs left in Honolulu. This is one of them. It’s at the edge of Waikiki, located in The Modern. Doors open at 10:30PM, but no one’s really there until around midnight, but by then there’s a line.
Cover is normally $ 20 for the guys and $ 10 for the ladies, but just hit the club up to get on the guest list. Assuming you know someone at the club. If not, then ask one of your friends. Someone always know someone at the club. Or just stay home and watch Netflix. That sounds like a night well spent. I need to catch up on Vampire Diaries now that I think about it. And I never did get around to watching Breaking Bad.
Guest list closes at 11:30 though, so just get there before then. The place should have an OK crowd by then. Just plan for parking. Because it’s valet. And it gets filled quick. If you do go valet, tip the guys well. They take care of your car better than most. But take a cab or catch a ride. Driving into Waikiki ain’t no joke, son.
The interior is nicer than most clubs and rather clean. But prepare to stand all night unless you got bottle service. Drank ain’t cheap, but that’s the way it goes. The crowd is mainly tourists, transplants to Hawaii, and a smattering of locals that know people from the club.
The music is usually legit, but last time I went, there’s mostly rap with one or two EDM songs. That may be good or bad, depending on your flavor of choice.
I feel I should start watching of Sons of Anarchy on Netflix. My mom watches it and recommends it.

Seriously though… no offense. Actually, please take offense. Hawaii is ratchet af. With all of its beauty, how could you be so… ratchet!!! We walked Waikiki strip for Halloween and I was told that it’s like Vegas. Uh no, whoever you hear that from has never been to Vegas. Waikiki strip is like… a line to a rave. NOT A RAVE, but a line to one. Except there’s no rave at the end. It’s just an endless line full of shit shows that leads you nowhere. Yup, no noteworthy bars on the Waikiki strip neither.
ANYWAY, now that I got that out of the way…
We ended up back at our hotel (The Modern) and into Addiction. 2 free comps per room and an extra $ 20 cover for anyone else. Security let us all in for free.
THE GOOD:
The venue is pretty. Modern. Fair amount of tables. The bartenders are extremely sweet. $ 5 grey goose shots. WAIT, WHAT? give me 10 rounds, please! Decent music and a good mix of Top 40’s, old school, and a little tiny sprinkle of EDM. Tourists galore, but I’d rather be around tourists than the ratchets.
THE BAD:
The DJ’s (aka the people changing the songs on their laptops) and their little «video vixens» were all up on a high horse (why? idk) and ignored my friend when she asked them to play a song. That was annoying. Also. we were drowning in a sea of body odor at one point. Like bruh, take a shower after the beach before you come to the club? Or is that the aloha way…
ANYWAY, enough with the hate. You’re probably wondering why I’m giving 4 stars. We made the most of it (drank a shit ton of $ 5 grey goose shots) and I HAD A GREAT TIME!

Yeah everyone who reviewed this place was definitely not kidding!
This would probably be the last club on this island to celebrate a bachelorette or any sort of occasion. WOW for $ 67 each person (party of 10) for bottle service is pretty STEEP! Our server rarely came by to pour us our drinks and made sure we needed refills on the juices. And the type of alcohol that was served was an unknown label vodka. To make things worse the tiny couch they call «VIP» realistically seats about 6 people so the remaining 4 had to stand up. Did I mention the server/​hostess noted that they had booked another group for bottle service and that we’d need to squeeze in to make space for them like WOW we spent a good $ 700 to share a tiny ass couch. WTF?! Right?!
This club is packed and TINY, prob the most smallest club I’ve ever seen, if you don’t do bottle service be prepared to dish out $ 20 for cover charge and spend $ 9 for drinks. You can either valet or pay parking right across for a flat rate of $ 7. Your best best is to hit up a bar. Never again.

This review is mainly for Addiction’s VIP service. I have had a couple friends ask if it’s worth it to get a VIP table /​bottle service and, ultimately, it’s all dependent on your own personal preference. .
It’s super good service in VIP — you get a personal waitress /​server (usually hot girl, cool outfit!) — it ‘feels’ VIP when you get to the VIP section in the back (they have a guy /​guard at the front making sure you have the right wristband) — but it’s VERY separate from the dance floor and the rest of the club… so it’s hard to mix with other people in the club and if you want to meet new people– super tough. On the other hand– if you like to sit and chill amongst your own group of friends, and not really mingle, I would say that it’s totally worth it (I like to sit and make my own drinks, so I like it)! BUT– if you really like dancing, walking around, meeting people and mixing– I would say just go for regular access — skip paying for VIP– and chill /​pregame at the Study beforehand (cool lounge by hotel lobby).
Pros? The music is usually awesome. The cocktail girls are hot. The bathrooms are pretty cool. The drinks are strong. The ceiling is totally awesome (just trust me and look up when you get there).
Cons? The lines can SUCK and I have had a couple instances where I just bailed and stayed at the Study bar instead of standing outside in a stagnant line in my 6-​inch heels. Also, it can get to be that small, sweaty, too-​crowded club (the club used to be named Crazy Box and it does kind feel like a box when it’s crowded). Also, VIP section needs new upholstery BAD! Holes all over the couches. Finally, the people who work the front door are not friendly. Like, at all. If they smiled and welcomed you– it would be a much more enjoyable experience! Just. Sayingggg.

I came to Addiction with a bunch of girls for my friend’s bachelorette party. We rolled pretty deep… with 15+ girls all visiting from out-​of-​town. This was the night to make the bachelorette feel special, dance the night away, and have a good time; but instead, we were all bored and standing around like sitting ducks.
It doesn’t even get crowded til after midnight, so coming any time before that will be pretty dead. The 10pm-​midnight DJ was spinning awful techno crap that wasn’t even danceable. I already hate the club scene… the least you could do is play something that will make me sway. Thankfully the 2^nd DJ started spinning hip hop after midnight which made you forget how awful this place was for a few spare moments.
To top off all the awfulness, their drinks were disgusting and expensive. Amaretto Sours tasted like pure bitters, and their AMFs were WTFs. This place isn’t worth it, even when it’s Free cover for girls on Thursdays (aka Ladies Night).

Addiction night club is a very tiny night club that charges a lot of money just to enter, and i have never like the door girl. if we are all excited to go in the club she doesn’t have to be so rude or disrespect.
the mixed drinks are over $ 10 and they are mostly iced and i don’t think this place even has good AC.
This place is so tiny and they took so many space for VIP i don’t think i would like to be in cramp in space with no place to seat.
