Expect a great haircut every time you come here! For the guys I’d recommend Joe! I’ve been coming to this place for many years(prior to the current owner) and they have not disappointed me. I know for most guys it’s difficult to find the right barber, but if your willing to make a trip down to Mapunapuna, try this place out! You may just become a regular. My only tip is to ask for their prices and take a photo of it, for some reason they stopped displaying it on a large sign and have now printed it on 1 sheet of paper that sits at only 1 station :-\. Oh and remember to make an appointment since they do get busy on the weekends.

Suzy was fantastic. She gave a great deal of attention to cutting my hair and made sure that I got exactly the haircut I wanted. She doesn’t skip any of the details and the end result is excellent.

I finally found my go-to hair stylist! Living in Salt Lake, I wanted to find a salon that was near by and Unilocal led me to 99 Beauty and Barber! I called when they opened and Suzy sounded so sweet on the phone and told me that she had an opening at 10:30. Good thing I made an appointment because during my time there, 3 people walked in and she had to kindly tell them that she’s full and her only opening was at 4:30. Suzy is such a sweetheart! Even though it was my first time with her, I felt taken care of. I have extremely thick hair, and I hate having my hair thinned out just because it makes the ends of my hair look bad. But for some reason, I trusted her when she said she will thin my hair out. And I’m glad she did, she took a great amount of weight off, but my hair still looked full and thick and my ends were still in tact! I’m extremely happy with my hair cut. She even does Japanese straight perms starting at $ 200, so I will definitely see her for my next Japanese straight perm!

My go to place to get a trim whether its for work or play. Been going there for almost a year now. Great and talented staff. My barber is Suzy. She’s super nice and skillful with a pair of scissors and clippers. Tell or show her what you want and she’ll make sure it’s done correctly. It’s truly a hidden gem in the maze of 99 Ranch.

We moved to Salt Lake from town so I needed to find a new barber. I used to go to Paul’s Barber Shop – amazing haircut at an unbeatable price! But we have a baby now so my haircuts need to be somewhere close and fast. 99 Beauty came up on Unilocal so I decided to give it a try. I went with Suzy, the new owner, and got a good cut for a good price. Not quite up to the level of Paul’s but better than what I’ve had at Thom’s or A’s. I’ve found my new barber!

I get my haircut here every month by Joe. He spends a lot of time on you and make sure he cuts your hair right. And the cost is less than Supercuts and many other places. The current owner(pictured here), and also the former owner, Esther, are very nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place!

I have been on the island for over a year and this was my first haircut. I made a appointment with Joe for a cut and highlights. It was a little hard to find but I eventually found it. Joe did an awesome job on the cut. I’m very picky with how I want my hair done but he did a great job. Didn’t get to do highlights because they didn’t have the blond dye I wanted. I don’t think they get a lot of Caucasian or blond customers. Overall I was satisfied with my experience. Just wish Joe could have done my highlights. If you just need a cut I highly recommend this place.

I went in today on the off chance that they would have time to take me and just«lighten» my bangs/side of my hair because it just felt«heavy.» My daughter has gymnastics just two doors down so I poked my head in and said«Can you just lighten this area?» and I grabbed where I wanted. The lady said she could so I sat down right away. She asked when I had last cut it and that my hair was uneven in the back. This troubled me as I had just gone to Salon Tiffany for the first time a couple weeks ago but it was my fault that I had not communicated very well with Tiffany and so while I was satisfied with my cut then, I did wish it were«lighter» on the side. So what I thought would just be a very quick trim, she now had to «clean up» the unevenness that I never even knew I had in the back of my head. I told her I normally curl my hair for some body. So then she tried to curl my hair with a skinny roller but I kind of knew it would not look good as I use a very fat barrel roller. I was right, but I wasn’t going to not communicate well again, so I told her I think it needs to be shorter and even lighter. So poor thing, I made her spray out what she had done but I am truly happy now. It does pay to speak up and I failed to do that with Tiffany. My cut came out a little over $ 20 with tax. I am not sure what she’d charge me if I wanted a full-on hair cut but it seemed reasonable to me. She did end up lightening my hair a lot and fixing the unevenness. She even showed me the back with a mirror. Later she gave me her card and her name is Esther. Very nice and easy to talk to. I felt more comfortable talking to her than Tiffany and I would go back and pay her a visit especially since it would be very convenient for me to do!

Great place for a men’s haircut at a reasonable price. Joe used to work in a high end Salon in Asia. He has great skills in cutting hair from traditional to modern. If you have a style in mind, you need to bring in a picture and he can do it since they don’t have the hair fashion books at this sallon. However, don’t let that stop you from going here for a haircut. Joe’s haircutting skills is tops. This is a underated salon. i’ve be4en to many places and this is the best deal for pice an quality.

Before I begin my review let me just say I have a chia pet, DTRIC troll type of hair. So basically if I don’t cut my hair every three weeks… its monchichi time(showing my age) So value and service is important to me when cutting my hair. No salon for this hair, its all about the barbershops. 4 stars mainly for the convenient proximity to my home. However I was overall satisfied of the price and service. About $ 20($ 5 tip included) is a pretty good price nowadays. Just think about it, you have to pay more than that for a «super» cut. :) Located in the old 99 Ranch(Not sure the name but maybe Ethnic Village) right next to the gymnastics. Hate going on a weekend to cut my hair, but my boss(wife) said I need to cut my hair. So went on a Saturday and they was able to cut my hair right away. When I got there it was a 2(wo)man team. My crazy hair was finally tamed for a good price. I got 99 problems but for now getting a hair cut is not one of um.(Jay Z reference)

My son is messy little boy. It’s not his fault, he was born male and so his natural inclination is to leave things out of place, wearing wrinkled clothing and forget to put the toilet seat down. This is man DNA at its finest. So as I’ve been blessed to be his mother, it’s my job to ensure that he grows up to be a neat, polite, respectful, responsible man who puts down the toilet seat and is unafraid to ask for directions. I believe this all begins with a haircut. If my little guy has a ridiculous mop on his head he will look messy and then all hell breaks loose. For example, if I allow him to have messy hair this will lead to a lifetime of messy hair. One day he’ll be thirty years old, rolls out of bed, looks in the mirror and sees that his hair is grown out and run amuck. Who needs a bath? Not him. He then gives himself permission to wear dirty clothing and goes out for a job interview. He of course does not get the job because of his disheveled appearance and god awful body odor. Jobless and broke he robs a bank and accidentally kills a security guard. He is sentenced to jail for life. The judge says«Where was your mother and why did she not cut your hair?» Get my point? So when I see that my little guy is starting to develop potential prison hair I am quick to chop it off. While waiting for his sister to finish her gymnastics lessons I decided to give 99 Beauty and Barber a go. There were no reviews written so I decided to chance it. I am a busy lady and am always seeking multi-tasking opportunities. Once before when I had visited 99 Barber they closed early and I was unable to get my son’s haircut. This time they were again closing up but Joe, the hairstylist, asked his boss if he could stay and cut my son’s hair. I think he too understood what can happen when hair runs amuck. He asked which one of us was getting a haircut and I thought«You’re kidding right? There is no way on Earth I’d let you cut my hair.» But as my son has not yet discovered the miracle of metrosexuality I figured I’d better score as many cheapie haircuts as possible. Joe was quick and gave my son a decent haircut. The entire time he cut my sons hair he kept saying over and over again, «Oh very handsome. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Oh very handsome. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good.» I am proud to report my son is once again on the path to success. I can see the million dollar mansion and full Ivy league scholarship now! This is a Korean owned shop so they may seem a bit standoffish but they’re nice folks. $ 13.50(includes tax) for a men’s haircut and they only take cash or check.
