All pau. Much like how AOL still has 1⁄3 of their income from dialup subscribers who have yet to realize that they can now cancel their $ 24.95AOL plan, and still keep their email address. I run into these seniors at least once a year, and show them how to bail. A year after the Wavecom acquisition, Hawaiian Telcom killed it off this past January. I knew they didn’t want this around. Why would they want someone paying $ 12/mo for nationwide phone service, when they can sign you up old school copper landline for triple. Around $ 34+/month for basic phone service. They still live in the last century, and they thrive on old folks who still have their decades old phone number. If it wasn’t for that, they would already be out of business. Which is fine, as I hated seeing the Hawaiian Telcom logo in my mailbox every month, after not having them for 9 years. When you try and make a bill payment over the phone, they charge you a service fee. So you have to go down to the Bishop Street location, or write a check and waste a stamp. That’s typical HT customer service for you. They make YOU service them. My new VOIP phone service is 100% free, so a even better deal. I was too lazy to switch, but thanks HT for pushing me to save even more! Goodbye and good riddance.
