I’m not sure what all the negative reviews on here are for. I normally go to this place on weekdays after rec sports and I always have a fantastic time. Come to think of it, I don’t remember ever coming here on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night which is probably when all the mayhem happens which leads to bad reviews. As other people have noted this bar is owned by the same company that owns the strongholds in Hoboken — Black Bear, Mills Tavern, and One Republik. SO they must be doing something correctly. On weeknights there is tons of room to spread out. There are tvs everywhere which makes it easy for a large group of people to hang out and not have to fight over the remote or bar space. There are beer pong tables, shuffle board, and corn hole /baggo. There are also other board/table games like shut the box, connect 4, etc. So there’s a ton to do! I find in the summers it’s fairly cold inside this bar, so if you tend get cold like I do, bring a sweater! While Tally-Ho itself does not have a kitchen, they have a partnership with Planet Mac next door. The menu is limited, but the food comes out in a timely manner. Tally Ho should not be blamed for any food issues — Blame Planet Mac instead!!! Staff has always been very friendly to me and my friends. I will continue to come here. And judging by the lines on the«prime nights,» even the bad reviewers continue to come as well.

Do Not go Here! Stopped in for a beer and a a shot for the first time. Bought 2 shots of Jameson, right after me and my friend took them we both came to the agreement that it was watered down. I saw the bartender pour it too. I guess they try to water down their liquor here assuming people wont realize.

Why pay double for food you can get next door for half price? Maybe its for the great service, disgusting restrooms and loud obnoxious dj. Besides who would want to go to or work in a place that is tumbleweed empty most of the week?

Not a great vibe with this place. One of the male bartenders was very rude here on a weeknight, cursing into the microphone and sounded really pissed off for some reason. Definitely not a friendly vibe, at least not on a Tuesday night. Black Bear is much better.

I actually think it’s a decent place. A bit of a young crowd but its better then that bahama mama place that used to be there.

Honestly the worst night bar club I’ve ever been to. The place smells like urine. It’s far too crowd. The bar tenders are super rude. Drinks are over priced. I went here last night and they charged me $ 18 for 3 bud lights. There’s always a cover. Just not worth the money or time waiting in line. And if you do decide to go here, don’t wear nice clothes… it’s too crowded and your clothes will get messed up.

Decent place. Nothing special. They keep the place pretty clean. Cheap drinks. Place isn’t overly crowded. Not a bad spot for football games. They have a small food menu that comes from Planet Mac. I recommend the buffalo chicken mac n cheese. Overall a chill place if you aren’t looking to spend too much and have a good time.

This bar is not worth the trouble. After waiting forever to get in, and waiting forever to get a drink, a disgusting bathroom, and customers who were too drunk but still drinking a bouncer said some inappropriate things to/about my friends. The music is good and the one bartender in the front bar was hustling and still had a smile. Unfortunately, after the bouncers saying harassing comments with their friends hanging out at the door, I will DEFINITELY not be going back.

This bar isn’t good. It’s the old Bahama mamas. Similar interior except there are no fake trees. Oh they added a beer pong table? Idk how they think adding a beer pong table is a smart idea. It’s tight and makes no sense. I’m trying to dance and as I’m dancing I’m seeing a bright orange pong ball fly across my face I guess my new dance move at this bar will be the duck and slide move. To make it even worse I experienced a horrible bartender. My friend ordered our drinks he says the total and says are you gonna pay? She gives her card. Instead of giving her card back he threw it at her and grilled her. If it were up to me I wouldn’t have given him a tip. Happy note the Dj was pretty good but if I were him I wouldn’t Dj there. Go to 1republik or the Shannon. You’re welcome.

Funny to read a complaint about the bouncer… My girl friends and I frequented this bar a lot when it reopened. We would go for football Sunday’s and enjoy the specials and atmosphere. More recently, I tried to get in one night but was turned away by the bouncer because I had on ripped jeans? And the one guy I was with had on a hat. I watched the people coming out of the bar and was shocked at my deny in when their dress wasn’t much better– at least I had on a full shirt. Moreover, I was told by some of my male friends the one was only allowed in if «he buttoned his shirt up to an appropriate height…» The bouncer told him a few more buttons and requested hat removal by all. Once they got in everyone had hats on. Checked media and website couldn’t find a dress code? Not sure I’ll be returning

Tough to review the bar as a whole but my cousin in law was escorted out of this bar for dancing… Away from everyone… Normally. And didn’t touch a soul. Needless to say, I will not go back here. Shame because of one bouncer.

Surprisingly clean, decent crowd, meh DJ, cheap drinks($ 4 Yuengling, $ 8 cocktails). I liked this place because we were able to get a small area towards the back by the dartboards, you can still dance and hear the music, but you aren’t on top of everyone. I think this place works.

First off, good thing I came here BEFORE reading the reviews. I went to the bathroom stall where apparently the ghost lives. Came here for happy hour on Friday 5pm. My boyfriend and I were looking for chicken wings and beer happy hour. Of course Hoboken was our instant place to go for happy hour deals. It wasn’t crowded at all so the noise level of good. We sat at the bar and ordered. We got a pitcher of beer which was half-price. Normally about $ 15, we paid $ 8. And we got 4 orders of wings(6 wings for $ 3). It took a while for the wings for come out. The atmosphere was pretty chilled when we were there. The bartenders were nice. They charge food and drinks separately, therefore two transactions for your credit card. Plus it shows up on your bank statement under two different names. I believe there is a $ 15 or more minimun to use a credit card. My experience here was good due to coming here a little early in the evening.

This is a tough review for me. My beloved $ 1 beers have faded away into the past with the old Bahama Mamas and it will be dearly missed. Tally-Ho had some big shoes to fill. I fight the urge to rate them with 3 or 4 stars, let me tell you why. Bahama Mamas had a classic, shitty design everyone loved. Tried and true that place had survived the test of time and that place was always packed. When first coming into this bar all i could think when i saw the big flat screen TVs and $ 6 beers was«wow another classic cookie cutter bar on Washington». There was nothing special about this place. With that being said, i have been back here every time Ive gone to Hoboken. I usually take the early train in and at 9:30 all the bars are still pretty empty. Here they have beer pong and a shuffle board table which is so much fun. this is usually our pregame spot becasue of the games. The bar is very clean and refinished nicely compared to how it was. I like this place a lot and i will be a regular customer. The only thing i could suggest is get some drink specials going. Certain shots or beers discounted at certain times or something. The games are great but give me another reason for wanting to come back.

Tally-Ho is almost always a good time. Their biggest asset is the beer pong tables in the back. They have high tables and bar chairs set up in the front, for a regular bar setting, but in the back, it becomes a college party again and you’re taking the pong tables by storm. There’s a second bar in the far back near the pong tables and both are easily accessible to a good staff of bartenders. This bar has the capability to get weird on a weekend, or even 5pm on a Tuesday; it can handle your chaos. I love this spot.

Neon Beer Pong Table + more Shuffle Board Large uncrowded front and back bars High top tables Beer, cocktails, & wine Half price Happy Hour 4 – 8 Pm(check daily specials) This is a reboot of the old establishment, going in the direction of Sports Bar. Sticking to the vain of it’s sister bars(black bear, mills tavern,…). This is a perfect spot for watching the game, pitchers of cheap beer, great specials, while listening to top 100 radio hits. TVs are posted in all lines of vision, including large projection on the back wall. Great spot for large groups.

Tally-Ho is located where the former Bahama Mama’s used to be. They did a really solid job sprucing up the place. It’s much nicer and cleaner. And there are even wood floors. Huge improvement! My husband and I went to Tally-Ho yesterday afternoon to watch the Giants game(or should I say debacle?). When we walked in, we were promptly greeted by the manager. He was super friendly and really was seeking any sort of feedback. He thoroughly wanted to make sure that his patrons had a good time in his establishment. Awesome customer service! We took a seat at the back bar and were served by Amy. Very sweet bartender who made sure our beers were always full. Whenever they were half empty she refilled them from our $ 9 pitcher. For football games, they offer $ 9 pitchers of Bud Light, Coors Light, and Yuengling. That was a nice deal. The manager made an announcement that the next group of people to get their friends into the bar would get a free round on him. So, I texted my friend. She entered the bar at least an hour later, but the manager came up to us and said, «I’m a man of my word. You’re the first ones to get your friends here, so this one’s on me.» Awesome! They offer cool raffles during the football games(t-shirts, Giants jerseys, etc). There was also a free round of shots for the entire bar. It was a peppermint and schnapps house combination. Tally-Ho doesn’t have a kitchen, but they have an arrangement with Planet Mac which is next door(they have a side door connecting the two establishments) to serve food to their patrons. They have a wing special on Sundays for $ 3. You get 5 large wings with carrots, celery, and blue cheese. Great value! I got the BBQ sauce and liked it. We also ordered the Classic 3-Cheese Mac(with grilled chicken). It was served in a cool skillet, nice and creamy. Since the food is from Planet Mac, you can’t add it to your bar tab, so plan accordingly and bring some cash. The bathrooms were covered in graffiti. I think that it was intentional though. I’m not a huge fan of that. Also, the woman’s room didn’t have a mirror. You might want to invest in one. Us females like to check our hair, makeup, etc… Overall, Tally-Ho is a cool bar. We had a great time and will definitely be back to watch another sporting event soon.

Stopped by on a Wednesday night evening while trying to kill time. I was able to eat a meal($ 0.25 wings) and two draft pints(½ off everything happy hour) for under $ 8. And being the bargain hunter I am, I was very happy. The bar is large and spacious with plenty of seating and room for game tables like shuffleboard. Bartenders were very friendly, food and drinks were served quickly, and there were plenty of tvs to watch whatever game you were interested in. My only recommendation to anyone going for the wings is to get more than you think you’ll eat — they’re small and for that price its worth over-ordering in case.
