Specialties
Menu classics include grilled cheese, hamburgers, tomato soup, milk shakes and egg creams. We’re continuing the tradition of hand-dipped chocolates at the holidays too!
Our homemade donuts will make you wish you lived above the store!
History
Established in 1931.
In the past 83-years Hoboken is a community that has seen its share of change, but one local Mom and Pop business that looks essentially the same today as it did when it opened in 1931 is Schnackenberg’s Luncheonette at 1110 Washington St. With its now-antique Coke sign hanging out front, its 1950s-style lunch counter and handmade dark brown varnished benches, it is one of the city’s most venerable businesses.
Originally opened in 1931, Schnackenberg’s has been spruced up and still retains the original charm of Hoboken’s iconic luncheonette.
Meet the Business Owner
Eugene F.
Business Owner
Last year, the Novak family enlisted the help of Joyce & Eugene Flinn, owners of Hoboken’s Amanda’s Restaurant & The Elysian Café to bring the place «A little more up to date».
The Flinns have spent the past year lovingly restoring Schnack’s with the hope of introducing one of Hoboken’s gems to the yet-uninitiated.
Rest assured, long time fans of Schnackenberg’s, that the things you lived about it remains intact. (Especially the gourmet chocolates!) With enhancements you’ll appreciate like our crowd pleasing mascarpone cream filled donuts, made in house daily.
