Refresh24 Dry Cleaners

Wish I could give it less than 1 Star. I bring my clothes to a DRY CLEANER to be DRY CLEANED. Dry cleaning minimizes fading of colors and shrinking of the garments. They charge me for dry cleaning but items that don’t necessarily need to be dry cleaned are being washed and dried as a way to cut costs and corners. I had linen items come back a whole size smaller than when I dropped it off and navy blue designer sweatpants not only come back a whole size smaller but also faded like they have been through a washing machine and dryer. Lesson learned. Never again.

Terrible. They lost my pants, fired both people that work there. No one would take accountability. Besides that the shirts that they pressed came back with really bad creases.
Avoid alterations!!! They send it to a local woman but do not measure… does not make sense that she does not come on site. I asked for darts to be put into my shirt and was charged $ 6 one time and $ 12 another time. Both time the darts were 1″ instead of the 2.5″ I asked for.

Just called for information and when I asked the man on the phone to repeat himself he was very nasty. Will not be returning.

I remember when they had cute girls who were very nice and helpful. Since they have gone downhill. Customer service is blah, overcharging, missing items. I’m not as excited to go there as I used to be

After a night in Hoboken celebrating my 21^st birthday, my favorite white dress at the beginning of the night did not look at all like my favorite white dress by the end of the night. I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to get all of the different stains out, as well as the signature beer/​bar smell.
Since I was staying in Hoboken for the weekend, I brought the dress over to Refresh24 on Washington Street. I told the employees what the dress had been through, and they assured me that they would take care of my garment and it wouldn’t be a problem getting it clean. Because I was leaving Hoboken at the end of the weekend, I needed it in less than 48 hours. Although the store is closed on Sundays, they have a machine that lets you pick up your stuff ²⁴⁄₇ — problem solved!
Refresh24 understood my dilemma and showed a genuine interest in helping me through and through. To top it all off, when I picked up my dress, it was flawless! It looked brand new again — stain/​odor free! I was so pleased with the customer service, timeliness and final product after leaving Refresh24 — I would definitely recommend their services to those in the Hoboken area.

I used Refresh 24 for their wash and fold pick up and delivery service. The first few times I used them the service was pretty good, like they would show up at the time they said they would, etc. Then things started to go downhill. one time the pick up guy called to say he would be at my apartment in 15 minutes and he didn’t come for about an hour, which put my life on hold for an hour. strike one. Another time the delivery was made and I was missing a purple hand-​towel… I double-​checked everywhere to make sure it wasn’t my mistake, but it was in fact missing. strike two. I continued to use them because it was just a hand towel, and only happened one time, so I didn’t think much of it. The next time the guy was coming to pick up my laundry no one showed up at the scheduled time and I waited about an hour extra because of the history of him being late in the past. When I called the store to see why he never came they told me he DID come and no one answered the door. Naturally, I told her that was not true that I wasted my time waiting for him and there was no way he came and she basically told me she had to believe her worker and she rescheduled it to be several hours later (further wasting my time). Right around the new time I got a phone call from the guy saying he was at my place and I was not answering my door… I walked outside and he was next door (different guy than usual)!!! He apologized for his mistake earlier that morning, but still… strike 3 for wasting my time again! That was the last load that we sent to them because of all the strikes I’ve mentioned above and because when it came back another purple towel (a full sized bath towel) was missing!!!
I bid you not to use this company! Their prices are no better than anywhere else in town and their personnel are unprofessional and rude. When you schedule a pick-​up they give you attitude if its not during the time they will be near you because it seems like they have a specific route they follow. Also, sometimes it will take 2 – 3 days to get the laundry back! It was nice that they would put your clean laundry in plastic bags and not directly in your laundry bag, but that should not be enough for anyone to use them. I have since switched and am loving my new service — the clothes come back smelling nice and are folded perfectly. all within 24 hours!!!

I had great great service at first but have to caution against using Refreresh 24 because of the delivery service. Slow, unresponsive, and unreliable are three words I will use to describe it. The cleaning is perfectly fine (I would even say better than average) but the service … downright terrible.

Can someone explain to me how a place like this can offer wash and fold and then make you wait THREE days before having it ready? With so many places in Hoboken offering same day cleaning (and delivery) why does this place even bother to offer the service?
The 24 automated dry cleaning service is great and all, but in a town that uses wash and fold so much, I don’t know why anyone would choose to drop their laundry off here when there are so many great mom and pop shops that do it same day.

I contacted Refresh about my issue, and their customer service was really stellar. The owner, Bob, apologized profusely (apparently the ID tags are meant to be affixed to the labels of clothes, not the fabric, so that was an error on Refresh) but they picked up all my clothes the next day, removed all the labels and dropped everything off again at my apartment within 48 hours — all for free.
I still think it’s worth Refresh telling their customers that their process is to apply permanent ID tags to clothing — just so customers can decide for themselves if this is something they care about, and not be surprised (like I was) when they get their clothes back.
Personally, I don’t like the idea of permanent tags on my clothes (even if they’re on the original labels and don’t show through). So, even though I was happy with the quality of cleaning at Refresh, I probably wouldn’t come back — mostly because I realize it would be a huge hassle for them to keep cleaning my clothes and making an exception to their process just for me.
Still, I’m really pleased with the company — they owned up to their mistake and made it right.
