History

Established in 1991.

The Hinsdale Center for Reproduction (HCR) is a private practice located on the campus of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. Dr. Michael Hickey founded the Center in 1991 and in the past 20 years, HCR has been providing families with advanced fertility care in a personal, warm environment.

The Hinsdale Center for Reproduction staff are the best in their fields: obstetrics, embryology, reproductive endocrinology. Cases once thought to require the expertise of the university hospitals are now safely and confidently handled in the privacy and comfort of our facility.

Dr. Hickey is the Director of the Hinsdale Center for Reproduction. He received his undergraduate degree, a BS in Psychology, from Georgetown University. Dr. Hickey received his medical degree in 1984 from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. From 1984 to 1988, he returned to Georgetown University Medical Center, where he served as an intern and resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During this time, he earned the Resident Research Award.

From 1988 to 1990, he performed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California Medical Center.

Dr. Hickey served as President of the National Society of Reproductive Endocrinology Fellows for the 1989 to 1990 term. Dr. Hickey is certified by and is an active fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.

For anyone dx with infertility, it is devastating to be told that you may never be able to have your own children. Dr. Hickey and his staff are amazing and expert fertility specialists. They made us feel comfortable and well cared for during each step of the process. Dr. Hickey took time to educate us about everything from the miracle of conception to details of procedure. His staff are easily available for anything and go above and beyond to make sure you are doing fine not only physically but also emotionally/​mentally. Thanks to The Hinsdale Center for Reproduction we delivered a healthy baby boy 5 days before my due date, despite a complicated pregnancy.
We will soon be trying for number 2! We wont hesitate a second to return if needed.

Infertility can be a frustrating and humiliating experience. HCR took the nightmare out of this process, and infused my husband and I with hope, reassurance, and eventually a beautiful little boy.
They are caring, thorough, and ALWAYS available to help. Every single employee and doctor in this office genuinely cares about your well-​being and keeping your dreams alive. Dr. Hickey is skilled, compassionate, and a great listener. No question goes unanswered– and you are never rushed out of an appointment.
For those struggling with infertility, I wouldn’t send you anywhere else. The entire office works as a team for comprehensive care– while treating you as a person, and a hopeful-​parent!

This is the best doctors office I have ever been too! The staff is amazing, sweet and lots of fun, and Dr. Hickey is a saint. I had a surgery done and he was so sweet. I got a tad freaked out right before they put me under and he could see I was scared, so he held my hand until I fell asleep. When I woke, he was right there standing over me. He is a very caring man and definitely knows his stuff. I would recommend him to anyone in search of a fertility specialist. I had been seeing 2 other doctors prior to him, and at this point I wish I would have found Dr. Hickey sooner. He answered more questions then either of the other 2 doctors. On our first visit with him he actually had a slide show that he set up after going over my gigantic file. He knew more about my situation then I did! If I could give him a 6th star on here I would.

Just had the most AMAZING consultation with Dr. Hickey at Hinsdale Center for Reproduction. He is kind, calm, patient, and extremely informative — using visuals for the entire IVF process and beyond. He answered all of our questions and really took time to get to know us. Dr. Hickey and his nurses are extremely kind and welcoming people, I know I am in the best hands now. They are completely willing to figure out appointment times that minimize my time away from work. I am so excited to be working with a doctor who is going to do everything I need within this one month evaluation cycle in order to make sure that my body will be truly ready for IVF. Dr. Hickey is all about quality, not quantity, with his medical care and I am absolutely thrilled to have found this clinic. If you’re anywhere close to Hinsdale, this is the place to go, without a doubt.

Dr. Hickey, the lead physician at HCR, is hands down one of the best doctors I have ever had. I had a somewhat long road to an ultimately successful outcome. Dr. Hickey performed two surgeries to enable my pregnancy to happen, and each time managed to address my problem in a way that was much less invasive than the easier method some doctors resort to. When my first attempt ended in a miscarriage, he was simultaneously professional and deeply sensitive. And his skill ultimately enabled my successful pregnancy — his quick thinking turned around a situation bungled by his incompetent partner, who I gather from a look at their web site has since left. If you’re in the market for a reproductive physician, you really can’t do better than Dr. Hickey.
