Ok, so your wondering why the 4 Stars… This place gets 5 Stars not because the service is the best, but simply because if you want to really get away in the continental United States, this is the place for you. To describe this place is simple. I am sitting a 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Full Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room Cottage with a Nice Wooden Patio Deck about 50 — 65 yards from the Atlantic Ocean. If you open the windows, you can even hear the tiny waves crashing onto the beach.
I ran this morning for about 6 miles and I only saw about 8 people: 4 on the beach and a 4some on the golf course… It was like I was running on my own private island with nothing but my thoughts.
The cottages are not Four Seasons type, but you pretty much have a complete house even with a washer and dryer. The jury is still out on the staff at this place because it is not the fastest: then again, I am here trying to relax and slow it down a bit.
The tips that i give to anyone that reads this and is thinking about visiting:
1. Rent a cottage and bring one of the following: some close friends: a significant other, or just do what I did, come solo.
2. Before you get to the island, stop some place in Bluffton and buy groceries: Especially Beer and Wine…
3. Bring a good book, shit, maybe even 3 good books to read.
4. Your Golf Clubs if you are an avid golfer…(I played the Bloddy Point Course. Nice Nice Nice!!!)
5. Visit in the latter part of their winter season. Much more affordable from what i am hearing.
6. Other than that, just come knowing that you can really just relax here and not have a care in the world.
And to think, I just came across this place on a fluke because i had to work here in Hilton Head. I will certainly be back and follow my own new set of Hilton Head Island Rules…
Oh, did I mention I got all this for only $ 119 a night. I did get upgraded to the cottage, but I am sure if you come in the winter season, you too can get upgraded… I think the Cottage is normally $ 179 a night: still so worth it.
