Before Home Depot, Sears was the spot to go for tools, refrigerators, freezers, stove tops and lawn equipment. Before Target and Walmart, Sears was the place to get your electronic needs, TV’s, home audio, and what not. But not anymore…
I need to admit, their customer service ain’t that great, but with the exception of a few. If you’re ever gonna make a washer/​dryer purchase or even anything big like stove tops, etc., make sure you see Howard. He is the person to see, he has great product knowledge, very friendly, and he is the type to make sure your needs have been met.
Even though I rarely buy anything from Sears, it still is one of the anchor stores that seems to be holding it down for PKP.

If you are looking for a store with any type of customer service Sears in Hilo Hawaii is definately not the place to go. I purchased a 48″ flat screen television from them last August and paid the nearly $ 90.00 to have it delivered. On the receipt it clearly says to «Set Up & Put In Place», it turns out this is a complete lie. I called and spoke to the man who sold it to me and explained that I have Cancer and my husband had been in hospital for six months and I just hadn’t been able to get back to Sears because of those issues to let them know that the TV had never been set up to the surround sound system and we have to listen to it using the televisions own little audio system, the salesman said he would have to speak to the manager and call me back. I told this young man to tell the manager Chris to call me back but it seems Chris the so called manager either couldn’t lower him self to talk to a customer or he just wanted some one else to pass on his uncaring, inconsiderate and lack of any compassion for two people getting up there in years and very ill, that he was not going to help in any way. My opinion is that if the people on this side of the island Boycotted Sears just for 3 months then Mr Chris might realize without the customers he wants to treat so poorly he wouldn’t have a job, most things are cheaper online these days anyway. The one star is for the ample parking spaces.

We did get a good deal on a fridge, but Sears NEVER answers the phone. It’s really hard to deal with this. Their phone system is a great incentive to shop at Home Depot.

Electronics department has absolutely no customer service ! Today was my last purchase at this store ! Should have gone to Walmart.
