Celebrated my sons 12th bday in the private party room. Everyone was extremely accommodating from the start. Helped me with my decorations, allowed me to set up and gave us GREAT service. Our birthday guests loved all the food & would return to enjoy more. Great place. I highly recommend it. And I admit, we drove them a bit nuts with all the kids but they were patient …

Terrible. I ordered a tray of chicken francais for mothers day. It was eggy chicken breast with chicken broth and artichokes. No lemon, no white wine… And over priced. Never again. I only gave it the 2nd star because it was fast.

We were all so excited to try this local spot after our neighbors recommended it. We walked in to garbage on the floor that their staff repeatedly walked by and never picked up. There was no one to greet us at the door, despite it being 6pm on a holiday. No table was prepared despite us having a reservation. When we were seated after some confusion, there were crumbs that fell out of my menu, gross. We had to ask for glasses water after sitting for 15 minutes. Next to us the table had ugly, uncomfortable metal chairs — so poorly done. When we ordered, the waiter didn’t understand his own menu and we had to point to what we wanted. The only good thing was the bread was warm and brought immediately — but it was hero bread, like for sandwiches. Three other tables got up and left while we waited(like idiots) for an hour and twenty minutes for food! from three entrees, the eggplant Parmesan was disappointing and pretty bad. It wasn’t eggplant Parmesan at all. It was served tepid, with watered-down tomato sauce; there was just one piece of cheese just put on top, like a deli slice. When the waiter came to see how things were going, and I went to tell him that we were exceptionally disappointed, he shrugged as I was talking and walked away. I WILLTELLEVERYONE I KNOWNEVERTOCOMEHERE. Never again. What a waste of money and a lovely holiday, soured by Domani.

This is my go to place. Just love to eat here. My favorite thing right now is the steak sandwich with mushrooms with onions and peppers. Side order of Sauted spinach with garlic. So good, at least for me!

Food is ok, some things better than others. If you get take out, check your order. Something is always incorrect or missing entirely.

Had 2 kinds of salads which were good but dressing unremarkable. The thee pizzas we chose were okay but again, not anything memorable. Overall, for the price, not as good as we hoped. Service average but slow and somewhat rushed to finish up even though it was fifty minutes to closing Hope this attitude was a fluke. Personal overall rating is maybe two and one half stars with five stars being best. Admittedly, we are foodies and have had great experiences; this was not one!

Not really sure why I gave this place a poor rating, I go all the time. Most of their food is excellent, I personally recommend the pizza, pasta and salads. The people here are very nice and prices quite reasonable. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area. Also, sit at the bar for faster service and nice drinks

My family and I came here for our Christmas Eve dinner. It was quite busy, and I can understand why! Everything was perfect! From the food to the ambience and the service. Our waiter was on key with everything and never once did we have an empty glass. Although it was busy, we in no way felt rushed. We had plenty of time for good conversation and to enjoy our food. As far as appetizers we ordered mozzarella sticks and a plate of meatballs. For an entrée I ordered chicken Marsala and it was delicious! And for dessert I got the blonde which was soooo yummy! Will be going back for sure :)

Even though the service was slow as a snail during the lunch hour on a Thursday, I really enjoyed my visit to Domani Grill. I started my meal with crusty bread with tomato basil oil, which is probably the best bread I have had out of Hudson County. After waiting 30 minutes for a glass of water, I was served pasta fagioli and pappardelle fungi. The soup was so fresh and organic tasting, and best of all– it was hot! Finding hot soup in New Jersey is like trying to find a nugget of gold. When I was served pappardelle fungi I was ecstatic because being the mushroom fanatic I am, I wanted to have a bite of one of my favorite foods. The pappardelle was dreadfully overcooked, however, the three(or four) varieties of mushrooms were cooked perfectly and the awesome garlic butter was to die for. I would definitely come here again for a quick bite of fine dining!

GRILLEDFIGS, PROSCIUTTOANDBURRATA When I tell you how good this appetizer is, you might say«of course it is! With those ingredients, how could it not be amazing?!?» And you’d be right. This is a combo of some of my absolute favorite things in the world — prosciutto, grilled fresh figs, creamy burrata, all drizzled with good quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar… If you’re not familiar with burrata, it’s a type of mozzarella cheese that’s incredibly and creamy. It’s an Italian creation, made from a mix of mozzarella curds and cream that are stuffed into a sturdier shell of mozzarella. Today at Domani Ristorante Italiano in Hillsdale NJ. So good

Surprised there are bad reviews on here! I love this place, can’t tell you how many times I have been here! My mom knows the boss Novak, really nice man and I almost always see a manger there while they are open. In the summer time I sit outside with my pugs and my mother and all the waiters/waitresses come to say hi. I like every single waiter or waitress in this place we almost know all of them lol. The food is real good, my favorite is Penne Domani & the Chicken Parm. The bread is awesome and the sauce they make to go with it is AMAZING. I don’t usually get dessert here but if I do it’s pretty good. I have been going here since it was Bensi but now that it’s name changed it doesn’t stop me from going. It’s a great place very welcoming and it has good food.

Pretty good food, service could’ve been a little better. Definitely try the cauliflower pizza — they’ll do any toppings and it’s so delicious(and healthier!).

This was our 3rd visit. First 2 visits were good. I ordered the guilt free pasta special on the daily special list. It said guilt free low carb pasta with shrimp and red clam sauce. Three shrimp and rubbery bits of clam over mushy wide pasta. Told the waiter the pasta was over cooked — slimy and soft. He asked in the kitchen and told me it was GLUTEN free. Not low carb(like Dreamfields) — I left all the pasta in the dish and just picked out the shrimp and clams -$ 21. I should have asked for the manager, my mistake. My husband had a house salad(dressing too vinegary) and sausage personal pie — too little sausage. We were not pleased with our dinners.

Uh-oh! What Italian place wouldn’t be packed on Valentine’s Day? Good thing I did my order to go! Called the order in Mozz en Carrozza, Scallops wrapped in bacon, Pappardelle Alfredo with Salmon, Pappardelle Funghi. I was told 25 minutes, the woman on the phone was polite, read the order back, and I stared at the clock. It was snowing yesterday so it was a joy and a treat driving in NJ. Picked the order up, the man behind the register was clueless, some guy barged in and asked for his order while two of us were standing on line waiting to be helped. He should have said something to the effect«These people were waiting…» but no. So I was thinking three stars right there for bad service. I probably should have said something, but I have no filter so I stayed mute. Got my bag, went home, unpacked the meals, my dinner is MIA. So not thrilled! Pretty angry! Thinking zero stars! Ok, it’s Valentine’s Day, they’re busy, but come on. I called, decided not to be angry on the phone, The guy on the phone gave me a manager and the manager in a nice way said«What would you like me to do?» He definitely didn’t say it in a bad way, I guess he was giving me the option for a refund or getting my rear end back to the store. I said«I’d really like to have dinner so I’m on my way back.» He said«Not a problem, we’ll have a nice gift waiting for you as well.» That’s customer service! Didn’t know what it was, but still excellent customer service. Walked in, saw the manager, he had everything ready, handed me a bag and a note card. Inside was a gift card for $ 20. That’s a pretty solid way to take care of someone, because that’s the cost of an entrée in that store. Back home… in the snow… wine is still cold… sat down, ate, everything was pretty delicious. I know it’s take out, so it’s not presentation friendly, but it beats being out with everyone on this particular night. I haven’t been here since they changed from Bensi, but I will definitely go back and give them a shot. Seems as though they have a bar there now and that got my attention. Plus I have a gift card I need to use now!

Solid Italian food in an unpretentious, casual atmosphere. We came for lunch on a Saturday around 1pm after running some errands. The server was friendly and attentive. The food was tasty. We ordered stuffed mushrooms and Bruschetta as appetizers. They were tasty. I tried the chicken soup. It really tasted home made… not too salty with nice chunks of fresh chicken. For entrees, I had the Chicken Mama Mia(fried chicken breast with fried eggplant and mozzarella in a vodka sauce). The sauce was tasty, but was very over-reduced, to the point of it being more of a paste than a sauce. Also, my chicken was overcooked and a bit on the tough side. My fiancée had the tilapia in a red sauce with clams. She also thought that her sauce was a bit thick, but it tasted nice. You could really taste the clams in the sauce, however the clams on the plate were cooked to death and had the texture of chewing on old erasers. I would come back here if I was looking for a quick Italian meal in the area, but probably would not seek this spot out if I was trying to pick a destination for dinner.

My family and I have been going to Domani’s for years, we love it there. The food is great. They have the best thin pizza, its my absolute fav. Not to mention they have the best wait staff who knows us by name now(my parents at least) and welcomes us like family when we walk in.
