Pacific University – Hillsboro Campus

Great college campus. Wanted to attend the school but was offered D1 scholorships instead. Great Student/​Teacher ratio and a nice quiet neighborhood.

Awesome school ! my son is from Hawaii, he loved it there, even thou it rained a lot. He has made some great friends and treasure this experience for the rest of his life.

— Every floor is a different program (4^th is Pharmacy)
— Great place to study as each floor has study rooms
— Weekdays open till 10pm, sat till 6pm and Sunday till 9pm (don’t quote me. Call to check)
— Library is small but has a sweet couch to nap on.
— Einstein bagel is located inside along with Garcia clinic, pharmacy and optometry.

Could have rated 5 stars, but the billing department left a bad taste in my mouth seven months later!
For the past 10 years, I’ve had to get annual eye exams and an updated prescription since my eyes are pretty bad. I’ve never kept a regular optometrist because either I didn’t absolutely love the service or it didn’t fit my budget as a student. For the past couple of years I have had the privilege of obtaining vision insurance through my job. Going forward I was on a quest to finding a provider that would supply me with the best eye health care money could buy! No more chain stores like Costco, Binyons, Walmart, etc… I was on my way to finding eye health mecca! I thought I had found it at Pacific University Vision. I was so excited that I would be back here again the following year, BUT I found that their billing department is incompetent. I get a past due bill saying I owe them from seven months ago. This is the first time I’ve had this happen to me. Most times if my insurance doesn’t go through I get a phone call A.S.A.P to remedy it. This usually happens to me every other year and boggles my mind why the hell can’t they figure it out since I found them through a list of providers from my vision insurance and second that they make you fill out a form with all your insurance information. I don’t like being late on my bills and I definitely did not appreciate that I didn’t even get a phone call about it LAST year in 2010.
I can say my quest continues and I hope Pacific University will be able to update their A/​R department more efficiently because I found their teaching clinic was excellent. Too bad I will never come back. Good luck to everyone else, hopefully you don’t screwed over 7 months later!

Health Professions Campus of Pacific University (the main campus is located in Forest Grove which is approximately 7 miles from the Health Professions Campus.

They also offer the Virginia Garcia Clinic on the main floor.
Their College of Optometry is located in the main campus in Forest Grove. Soon to be moved at the Health Professions Campus.
The second building opened during the Fall 2010 for more offices, research labs, classes and study rooms.
A new parking structure was also opened in the Fall which is open to faculty, students with parking permits and for those participating in the ride and share transit.
Parking is scarce and watch out for areas that are 2 hour parking locations. MAX ride from Gresham towards Hillsboro (Blue Line). Get off at the Tuality Hospital/​8^th Avenue stop. (Stop ID 9843 — Eastbound; Stop ID 9844 — Westbound).
