Our goal is to be the best problem solving resource to our clients, a solid and responsible employer to our workers, a place for our staff to grow in skills and abilities, and to provide a positive contribution to the communities we serve.
History
Established in 1997.
With a vision of providing the best temporary workers to the community and stable work assignments to hard working blue collar temps, Direct Labor opened its first office on January 1, 1997 Focusing on the area’s large wholesale nurseries, as well as the rapidly expanding construction industry in Washington County, we quickly became a major player in the temporary labor industry.
With revenues of over 1 million in the first year of operations, Direct Labor opened another branch at 845 N. Pacific Hwy in Woodburn, Oregon in July 1998 and purchased an office at 243 West Main, Hillsboro, Oregon. We have since moved from our Main street location to a larger building located at 1049 SW Baseline Bldg C # 375, Hillsboro OR 97 123. The purpose for our move, although multi-faceted, was primarily to accommodate our continued growth and dedication to providing superior services to all our clientele.
Meet the Business Owner
Dorothe J.
Business Owner
Dorothe grew up in the Netherlands in a family of entrepreneurs. Prior to founding Direct Labor, she worked for 20 years in the employment industry, becoming an expert in employment laws and practices. She worked as an Employment Specialist at the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce, under the auspices of the Washington County Consortium. In that capacity, she trained hard-to-employ clients in job seeking and employment retention skills. Ms. Wilms Jangala has received numerous community and business awards and is known for her creative approach to job placement and staffing. She is fluent in several languages, including Spanish, and continues to advance her knowledge of the temporary industry.
