Great local pizza from a mom and pop shop! We ordered the fried ravioli(a St. Louis tradition that they did an AMAZING job with) and two pizzas: one pepperoni and on BBQ chicken, both on thin crust. I’ve had Luigi’s once before with the thick crust — I’m totally a bread person — but we wanted to try the thin and it didn’t disappoint! Very thin and crispy, almost like a flatbread, allowed me to eat more pizza rather than fill up on dense crust. My boyfriend and I are foodies but our guilty pleasure is pizza and we are fans of Luigi’s!

Hilliard is the home of DiCarlos and this travesty to pizza. I’m not sure which is worse. One bite and you can tell the crust is frozen. School cafeteria pizza is better. If you’re going to make a $ 5.00 pizza then you should charge $ 5.00. They have been open since 1955. When it opened in 1955 did they actually use frozen crust? We need some Italians to move into Hilliard so we can get some decent pizza. Just to rub it in they screwed up my order. Learn to MAKE fresh dough and perhaps you’ll be in business until 2055.

The absolute worst and offensive staff ever. The delivery driver delivers the pizza, I ask for the receipt so I can sign and give a tip. He refuses to give me receipt. I say that I am just trying to give a tip, he says they always ask on the phone, which they didn’t. And said if I was going to give a tip I would have on the phone. Again, they never asked. He then proceeds to be a complete jerk and not give me his name. I call the store and ask for a manager and the first person to answer says he is. I ask for the real manager and a another man answers. I say that I have a complaint and ask his name and refuses and hangs up on me. At this point, I haven’t even tried to the food because I am so shocked at how they treat their clients. The point is their food could he devine, but how they treat their clients isn’t even worth it. This pissed me off so much that I wrote my first and only food review.

I love supporting local food, but I just can’t get on board with Luigi’s. SERVICEISSUES: When I ordered, the employee seemed really agitated and irritable — everyone has bad days, I get that — but when I got the food, they had forgotten my chicken fingers with the kids’ meal. Stuff happens, but when I called back about the fingers, the same employee was very short with me, definitely didn’t hide her irritation as she yelled back to another employee about the order, and kept telling me it was«in the bag.» I assured her they weren’t, and they did end up sending out our missing items, but not without me feeling like I had to argue to receive my food that I paid for. Good customer service can go a long way. THEFOOD: cardboard-dry crust, rubbery, plastic-tasting cheese, bland tomato paste sauce, nothing special about the pepperoni… it makes me think of the cafeteria pizza from my high school. Definitely not worth the price; Little Ceasar’s packs more flavor and that’s unfortunate. The chicken tenders were okay, not great, not the worst, and the mushrooms were meh. I hope maybe they can breathe new life into this place, I would love to see a 180 and it transform into a place with great food.

I love this place. I reminds me of one of the top 10 pizzas in Chicago(Villa Nova). Newsflash: if you order thin crust pizza the crust should be thin! The sausage is the best in the Midwest.

We took a friend from out of town and I will have to say this is the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life. But the service was great.

I was a little underwhelmed with Luigi’s pizza to say the least. While I was there I was like… «Yeah, I might come back here.», but the more I sat and thought about it. I was like… «Hell, there’s a lot more greater pizza places on the west side that deserve attention.» The ambiance here is the same it has been since the 1980’s. In fact my husband recalled nothing really changing since he had been there as a kid. The same arcade machines are still there, and the same color scheme is still showing. He said, «Oh there is something new… The tea machine.» lol As much as I love a good thin cracker crust… Luigi’s did provide this being 2nd to the thinnest crust I have ever had(See Cappy’s in London), but I don’t know. I was just pretty«meh» about it all. We ordered fried cauliflower, which was pretty much straight off the GFS truck. No hand battering here. The cheese, and topping’s Luigi’s uses are great, but what really killed it for me was the crust. The crust takes on a sweet taste to it, and then once it hits you… you realize after puzzling, and contemplating on whether this pie is great or mediocre… The crust just tastes like a giant club cracker. I was also disappointed that it looked like their crust was not made in house for the thin pizza. It looked like it was bought in and not hand thrown, or rolled from the creases on the sides of the crust, and perfect random holes on the bottom. Perhaps their thicker crust is where it’s at, but I don’t think I’ll take that chance. I hate to say it, but it’ll have to take a moment of pizza desperation to bring me back. Luigi’s is not worse than chain pizzas, but it just failed to amaze. Sorry, Luigi’s.

We tried this place on a whim as we drives by and my husband had been wanting to try it. The pop machine was broken, no problem, things happen. And they were giving complimentary bottles of water. But we waited about 50 minutes to get our small and personal size pizzas and when they finally arrived, one of them wasn’t even right. They were pretty tasty, would’ve been better maybe had I gotten what I ordered. My husband wasn’t a fan of the crust. Lots of kids around us were whining about when were they gonna get their food. So I wouldn’t bring a hungry family here. Not the best pizza, definitely not the worst. Just takes a really long time and then you might not get what you wanted. I’m always a fan of local, family owned businesses. They just need to step up their game a little.

i’ve tried to like this pizza, i really have. i’ve had the thin crust and the thick and don’t care for either. the pizza is dry and the toppingare skimpy, espcially considering the price. the crust is decent. eating this pizza is a lot like eating a homemade pizza at 4X the cost.

It is the best pizza in town. I may be biased but it is delicious. the crust is thin and on the sweet side. Their everything(except anchovies) pizza is amazing, but you can’t go wrong with plain cheese either. Their toppings are great, and if you pick up your order it only takes about 20 minutes. Worth the wait. If you go on Monday you can get a large one topping pizza for $ 9.95 and that should be enough for 3 – 4 people.

Dined in this long time family LOCAL Hilliard Pizzeria. We had original crust(think extremely thin) Pepperoni and Cheese, and a Sausage Mushroom. Both were at our table in a reasonable amount of time. The pizzas were well topped, the sauce had just the right amount of spice. we also had small side salads, with house-made«Italian» dressing. Very good ! My take away, friendly folks, good unique real pizza. So if you like lots of thick dough from a huge chain, this may not be to your liking. For my money i will go LOCAL, not the same old thing every time !! Give Luigi’s a try it is legit.

Last night was our first time ordering from Luigi’s and it won’t happen again. We ordered a pizza, chef salad, fried ravioli, and a mini-corndog kids meal. The order took an hour to arrive and the pizza was flavorless. The fried ravioli were just okay(previously frozen). The chef salad was decent, minus the rubbery canned mushrooms(which were also on the pizza). I was pretty pleased with the kids meal though. In addition to six mini corndogs and a good helping of french fries, which was all I expected to receive, the kids’ meal also came with a full-sized Capri Sun and a package of fruit snacks. Needless to say, my daughter ate her whole supper! All in all, we’re crossing Luigi’s off our list of pizza possibilities. Slow service and unsatisfying food make for a disappointing combination.

I don’t have too much to say differently then other reviewers. Definitely a different type of pizza. The crust is super thin almost cracker like. Overall it was good. I agree with the other reviewers that the woman who answered the phone was short. Although, the guy at the counter was nice. It is a family run place their were kids there too.

Probably the best pizza crust Ive ever had. Thin and flaky… almost biscuit like… very flavorful. Toppings are top notch and fresh. The sauce has a hint of sweetness, but not overly so. Great pie, at a great price… will eat again.

Placed a delivery order, and it took over an hour to arrive. When I was on the phone ordering, the woman was very short with me, and didn’t ask if I wanted to pay with a credit card. Once I asked her about it, she told me I would have to prepay any tip if I wanted to pay with my card, or I could give a cash tip. Why would I want to prepay a tip on a delivery order?! There’s no incentive for speed at that point. Judging by how long it took for the pizza to get here, they didn’t have much desire to be speedy anyways. After an hour passed, I called back to find out where my food was. This time a man answered the phone, and was far nicer than the original woman. He said he didn’t know where my pizza was exactly, but that they had been extremely busy, and it was out for delivery. Less than five minutes later, my pizza showed up; piping hot. The pizza ended up being just as good as the service was bad. Mine and my girlfriend’s pizzas were both very delicious. The garlic bread reminded me of Lucky Charms, in that it was magically delicious. With regard to food quality, I’d love to have Luigi’s again, but the shoddy service is going to keep me pursuing other options.
