Leo & Scott have been easy to work with. With their input I was able to decide which types of sliding glass doors would work best for me. My house is done and it’s whisper quiet.

We asked for a quote to replace a side door on a garage, due to a recent break-​in. We made it clear that we needed this work done soon, and that it would be covered by an insurance claim. Our estimator, Paolo, seemed casual enough at first, but then asked to sit inside our home, which made my wife uncomfortable, and proceeded to take the next hour to call various suppliers and supposedly prepare our estimate in front of us. Mind you, we were taking time from work to have this estimate done, and we certainly didn’t care to wait around for what we saw as his personal clerical work. It took several notices over the following days for Paolo to realize that he had our email address wrong. Six days later, we received our estimate of $ 1700, for what we specifically asked to be a CHEAP door! Knowing this was ridiculous, we asked for an itemized estimate to see where these out-​of-​whack costs were coming from. Obviously knowing they were hiding a huge premium, Paolo declined with a snarky email (citing company policy of course), and we chose to move on. We were quoted yesterday at $ 700 max! They clearly thought we’d pay anything with insurance footing the bill.

After scheduling an estimate with Colorado Window Source which was an easy process, I’ve never been so displeased with the lack of professionalism of a contractor. Most importantly, they wasted our time and was unable to provide an estimate due to «lack of architectural plans» (seriously??), while three other window installers were able to provide a bid without issue. Thus, look elsewhere for your window needs and most importantly, DO NOT WORK WITH CHRIS CAYO.

I have used Colorado Window Source twice now for replacement windows in my home. The first time I replaced all the windows in my upstairs. They were extremely professional, gave me good advice and guidance throughout the selection process, did an exceptional job of installation and followed up throughout the next two years to make certain there were no issues with the windows. The very first thing I noticed was the difference in sound that I was hearing from outside. I have not noticed a huge difference in my heat bill, but A/​C is definitely lower. I recently contacted them for round two, new windows and a door in my kitchen area. Again, all went very well. I would highly recommend them for any window or door replacements. As I continue to replace all of them in my home, they will be the one and only call I make.

I got new windows from Colorado Window Source and can’t say enough great things about them. They were competitive with other estimates on windows for my house, which was built in 1952 and had the original metal windows. The old windows would freeze on the inside when it got cold out, so needed replacing. This is the 2^nd winter with the new windows and I’m seeing heating bills that are over $ 100 less than what I was paying before the new windows came. It’s also much cooler in the house in the summer. And my housekeeper says that there’s a lot less dirt coming in because the windows have kept it out.
CWS also replaced my doors and blinds and they look great. Blinds are all Hunter Douglas and cost less than anyone else had estimated for me.
Installers did EXACTLY what they had said, including showing up on time, cleaning up after themselves and giving me a quick tutorial on how to work my new windows and blinds. And, they replaced the lock on the back door because the old one didn’t fit, including going to the hardware store and shopping for one that would look good in my kitchen. LOVE these guys.

We recently had windows installed by the folks at Colorado Window Source. We found them through the recommendation of a friend, and have been very pleased with our choice.
We first thought about replacing our windows when somebody from Replacement by Anderson knocked on our door. We were totally turned off by the «salesy» approach he took, and the fact that our quoted price dropped from $ 50,000 to $ 37,500 by the time our visit came to a close.
Our experience with Colorado Window Source was totally different. My husband connected with Kurt, who spent a good hour on the phone with him, patiently answering his questions about the benefits of one manufacturer versus another. Kurt invited us down to the showroom, where we were able to compare products, and see which worked best for our needs. It was nice to have some options to choose from, and talk with somebody who was knowledgeable about the benefits of one product versus another. And we never got the feeling that he was trying to steer us toward a more expensive product. We ended up paying less than half of what Anderson’s lowest quoted price was, to replace all of our above-​ground windows and a sliding glass door.
Jim and his team of installers were fantastic. Although the windows took a bit longer to arrive (due to to a delay at the manufacturing facility), the windows were ready three weeks later than originally quoted. But they got our installation scheduled right before the big cold snap in December, and all of the new windows were installed before the cold set in. The extreme temperatures kept them from putting the finishing touches on the installation until a week later, but we were grateful that they worked so hard to get the new windows installed before the cold weather set in. And once it was warm enough to do all the finish-​work, Jim and his guys knocked the work out in a day.
We live in a very old home, so I was a bit leery of using a company that I assume does a lot of work in the suburbs. But we are very pleased with the Sunrise windows we purchased, and have received many compliments on the improvements from our Park Hill neighbors. I’ve already recommended Colorado Window Source to other friends who are thinking of replacing their old-​home windows.

Travishamockery! Really that sums it up. The only reason why they even get one star is because their installers rock (Jose– siding and Brett– windows). If only I just had to deal with them.
This whole process has been riciulous. They literally let me sign a contract for something that wasn’t available– 3 times (with months of notice in between). But that’s not all. In the end they just said we don’t have it and deal with the gutters– which were also not put far enough from the foundation.
We bought both replacement Windows and Hardie siding. Paid extra for lead safe install and they didn’t even do it. Paid to get the siding replaced and then they said– no you didn’t you just get to get your rotten wood wrapped with metal coil. It will cost you a bunch more ($ 1700) to do it right. Why would I want to cover rotten wood with metal??? I found a copy of the original contract that showed we were supposed to get the trim done– they knocked off $ 200.
I choose them originally becasue they were $ 800 cheaper on the project as a whole. I would have paid $ 2000 to not deal with them– the bosses/​owners were pretty jerky about all their mess ups too. This was our test run do finsh the windows on the big house– 28– so glad we’re going with ANderson for that. You can contact me with questions– I’ll be more than happy to tell the whole story.

I also am in the service industry (Realtor) and I come across trades all the time that I am asked to refer. I also could be described as having high expectations for people that I refer and work with. I refer lots of people everyday to my clients from lenders, to inspectors to roofers and landscapers. With that said I take giving a referral very seriously and expect the trade I refer to be top notch. CWS is just that — top notch!
After exhaustive research on types of windows I finally stumbled upon Colorado Window Source and I am glad I did.
This company understands service and the needs of the client. I was impressed from the moment I met Kurt for my bid. He was professional, on time and understanding of my project needs and budget. Believe me, I met with 7 other companies before CWS. He was also more knowledgeable then his competitors selling the same product (Amerimax Windows) It was absolutely vital to me that whomever I chose and entrusted for a major renovation on my house that they meet two criteria — Be Professional & Be Competent. I felt that it was just as important to pick the right window, the right company and the right installers. CWS again exceeded all of my requirements. And as an added bonus CWS was nearly 2k cheaper then their competitors.
Once my project began it was clear to know that I had indeed made the right decision in choosing CWS. Their installers were just as professional, a joy to be around and did an absolutely beautiful job on my windows. They were careful and respectful of my time and my house. They were clean and on time and their work and craftsmanship was stunning. They went above and beyond in my opinion. As an added bonus Steve from CWS popped in and out from time to time to check in on the work and my comfort level.
Across the board this is an A+ organization run by professionals that shoot strait and stand behind their work. They are great guys and exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend them to everyone I know and when I am selling houses that need windows these are the «goto» guys. Don’t hesitate in using CWS for ANY project. CWS is a local company with competitive prices and good service both on the sales side and the installation side.
I did a couple of price comparisons before deciding to go with CWS. They were the only company that was not going to charge me extra for not being on the first floor. There was even a company that had graded charges based on how high up (e.g., second floor more expensive than first, third floor more expensive than second, etc.). I appreciate a company that doesn’t nickle-​and-​dime their customers for things that really don’t add that much more work.
They were speedy with coming out to measure, getting us set up with a quote, getting a final measure, ordering the windows, and installing them. My only complaint is that the estimated time to install turned out to half the actual time to install. However, I understand that a job may seem easier than it actually turns out to be when things start to be taken apart, so I can’t really hold it against them.
This company is great!

Our house was built in 1989 in Highlands Ranch buy a large track home builder, Ryland Homes. Because our house was at one point the model home they had put extra windows in our house as an upgraded selling point. Normally, the more windows the better, but realizing that they were cheap construction grade windows with little heat and sound insulation, I started to understand why my heating and cooling bill was so high. Eventually, a large window on the back of our house starting leaking water in everytime there was a heavy rain. I started reading window replacement adds that regularly circulated in the Denver Post at the time knowing that some day I would have to replace my windows.
About 8 years ago, Kurt knocked on our front door inquiring about our need for replacement windows. Normally, my policy is to never buy anything from a door to door sales man but he seemed nice enough that I though I should give him a few minutes to finish his sales speech because I was kind of looking for replacement windows. I set up a 30 minute sales meeting for a few days later so I could try to compare some of the other Denver replacement window companies. Back then, Champion Window was doing the most advertising and I researched the qualities needed for a good window. R value is the insulation efficiency and the different construction material like wood, vinyl and aluminum affected cost and future maintenance needs.
During the 30 minute in home window demonstration, he shows me an inferred light that was giving off heat like the rays from the sun. He placed the light so it showed through our old windows and you could quickly fell the heat go through like a green house. Then he shined the red light through his replacement windows, I was amazed that you could not feel the heat! The windows had a special coating that reflected almost all the heat from infrared light. This is what heats up your house in the summer. Then he went on to explain that a new stronger re-​inforced vinyl construction would also help trap the heat in the winter. These new windows were going to be much better sound barriers for the traffic near our house.
After a little haggling and more price-​shopping the competition I signed all the paper work and had 23 windows in my house replaced. The installation took about 3 days and of course one window did not fit. They ordered a replacement window and finished the project a few days later. They even added in free binds to help with sunshine in the summer.
It has been about 8 years and we are still very happy with the quality of the windows. They have lowered our cooling costs dramatically in the summer months and have lowered our heating bills by about 20% (could have been more if we had all 27 windows replaced) in the winter. When we close our windows, our house is very quite and comfortable. I have recommended Colorado Window Source to a few friends who used them to replace their windows in Denver. Colorado Window Source sends me a $ 200 check to say thanks for the referrals. I highly recommend Colorado Window Source to my friends and people that I meet who mention they need replacement windows. If you mention this Unilocal,and say «Brian in Highlands Ranch sent you» they may just send me another thank you check! Ha ha ha just joking.

I bought an old house and wanted to remove a window and pop in a door.
The guy that came out from the company spent the whole time whining about what a hard project it would be, pointed out everything that would go wrong (that didn’t), told me I would have to do all of the «extra» work that went with the project (paint, trim, single step down to patio), came up with a bad solution that wouldn’t fit the style of the house, and then quoted me three times what another company (that completed the work) did. He also told me to get rid of the big, beautiful, old windows that I love. :(
He seemed like a nice enough guy and he was friendly to my dogs… but I wouldn’t recommend the company for challenging projects or work on older homes.

The entire experience has been fantastic! No pressure sales, only fair and honest information regarding the products and associated pricing. Thanks Kurt! We have been prolonging the window replacement for some years, but finally decided to add more efficient and easy operating windows to our home. I only wish we had done this sooner!
We have noticed a difference in the electric use during the summer and are excited about the savings we will surely see with the winter usage. The windows work well, but keep in mind the looks are great as well. It may sound silly to some, but the clean appearance that it has added to the exterior and interior of our house is great. Remember that you have choices of window casing for the installation that really allows you to upgrade the interior look of your windows.
Care was taken during the installation (Thanks Bret, Steve, & Taylor) process to stay clean during the day and at the end of each day. The windows and slider were ordered and built specifically for our house — not a one size fits all approach. We have had some small follow up issues, and the response has been professional and timely. We have decided to have two other windows replaced that we originally chose not to do with the original project. Same great service the second time around.

I recently purchased a very old house (100+ years), and after being in it for only about a month, one of the upstairs windows broke right out of its very, very weathered frame.
I contacted several different window companies in the area, and decided to use Colorado Window Source based on my comfort level with the salesperson, Mark, and, of course, the price. Some of the other people who came by quoted a good price, but ran the old trick of trying to force me to sign a contract within 24 hours to get the «deal» — no thanks. CWS’s bid was valid for a month.
Once I went ahead and made a final decision to go with CWS, I was ready to wait the 4 — 6 weeks they’d originally noted (these windows were an odd size and were specially made). However, they got the whole job done in less than four weeks, which I was really grateful for.
Finally, the product itself. I got exactly what I asked for, and the install job looks fantastic. Honestly, I was surprised at how great it looked — I was told that I may have to paint around the edges, but the installer (Jerry) did such a great job matching the caulk that there is barely anything left for me to do. He also climbed out on the roof and picked up the old, broken window (the old windows were painted shut, so I was unable to get it) and disposed of it. I also appreciated that he took the time to show me how they open inward, which will make both sides of the window very, very easy to clean. Love this set!

Had CWS out to quote replacement of all the windows in our home. They were quick to make appointment, on time for the appointment but could not give me an instant quote. I was told I would have the quote in a couple of days. Never received quote. If you can’t even get me a quote in the time promised why in the world would I use you. Thanks but no thanks.
Edited — to add that I did finally receive the quote several days after it was promised. I was told that this was due to the fact that the email that was sent to me bounced. Interestingly my email address is my name so it is not that difficult, and why did it take 3 extra days past the time the bid was supposed to be sent for someone to call to tell me the email bounced?

After much research I picked Colorado Window Source to install a large patio sliding door on my house. I did extensive research because I wanted a 12′ door installed in place of for 5′ door. As this would take installing a new header and moving electrical to be able to make this work. The guys at Colorado Window Source did an outstanding job and really made it easy for my electrician to complete the electrical move and they made sure my house was protected at all times. The finale product was above my expectations and increased the value of my house by more than the cost of the door. I would highly recommend Colorado Window Source to anyone looking to have a similar job done or just to have their windows and doors replaced.

We had every window in our house replaced by CWS and could not be happier. We did this over two separate orders and install processes as we have a lot of windows and wanted to spread the costs out. We were equally pleased with each process. I have referred them to a couple of other neighbors who have also used them and were very happy with the results.
The sales process was fast and easy and we really understood what we were getting into before we got started.
We checked them out and talked to a few references before we proceeded with placing the order. The installation process (including scheduling) was very professional and very efficient. We have had windows replaced in another house by another company and it was a nightmare getting the finishing touches completed. (and their windows are far nicer)
After the installation, we had to vacuum, dust, and touch up the paint (both inside and out) but after having the windows ripped out, having the drywall and trim removed to accommodate the new high quality wider windows this is absolutely mandatory. We were surprised by how little dust there actually was considering the amount of drywall and trim that was removed. The painting was not mandatory, but since we have some dark colors and we are perfectionists we went ahead and did the touch up to have nice crisp paint lines against the windows.
They have come out and done the free follow-​up inspections as scheduled and even found a screen that didn’t look aesthetically correct so they ordered a new one and had it replaced very quickly. (I should add that one of the owners of the company comes out and does these inspections).
I would not hesitate to recommend CWS to anyone.

Chris is a great, no pressure salesman. He was patient in explaining the window construction and different options. Amanda was very helpful in scheduling. I am pleased with the quality of Amerimax windows.
I am very unhappy with the installation, which was through CWS – so that we wouldn’t have warrantee and other problems. They installed a broken window and blamed it on the house settling. How insulting – a 35 year old house is already settled! Windows were not plumb, aligned with each other, and tipped in/​out of the house. Installation #2 fixed the broken window in place. Several of my contractors agreed the installation was inconsistent and unprofessional. They charged me to reset the windows – I should know how windows should be set the first time. Three months later, my windows are properly installed.
LESSON: Buy from CWS. Do not use their installers.
