Established in 2000.

We have been in business for 14 years specializing in repairing alloy wheels. See our YouTube channel «rimrepaircenter» for video’s.

Today we have the capability to straighten bent wheels with custom built straightening equipment. We can true a rim to within two hundredths of an inch, verifying our work is within industry specifications using a state of the art Hunter Road Force balance machine. We test our straightened wheels to make sure they will hold air once mounted on a tire and not cause a vibration once mounted back on your car.

When we cosmetically refinish a wheel we also have the capabilities to bring a wheel back to factory specifications. By stripping the old coating of a wheel and applying either a Powder Coated Finish or High-​end automotive painted finish (depending on the OEM spec) a wheel repaired by us will look like new inside and out. This is also true with machined wheels that require a specialized CNC lathe to create the diamond cut surface.

Ryan is the business owner of Wheel Tech Inc. — and check him out on You Tube by searching for the «Rim Repair Center» Channel. Ryan specializes in the cosmetic refinishing and repair of wheels. Ryan takes his time with each rim repair and cares about the end result (and people do notice!). If you have questions about painting wheels or powder coating rims Ryan will be able to answer your wheel repair questions knowledgeably.

Dave is also an owner who specializes in the Straightening of bent wheels. Straightening a bent alloy wheel takes specialized equipment but also a well trained operator. This is because wheel straightening is 50% «art» and 50% machine. As an owner, Dave takes great pride in his work and does his best to ensure that every wheel straightened is trued to within industry spec. If you have bent wheel related questions Dave is happy to try and accommodate you.

Ryan and team are great. I had the calipers on my Cayenne painted and they look AMAZING. I live in Chicago so the trip up to their shop was a little long but well worth it. They are very thorough and detailed oriented. I strongly reco them and wouldn’t hesitate to bring my car back to them.

I purchased a BMW 750i Xdrive with the M package OEM wheels in alloy and decided to powder coat my wheels to Black Gloss. After searching I found Wheet Tech in Highland Park IL. Ryan was very professional on the phone, he answered all my questions and we arranged for Wheel Tech to Powder Coat my wheels. When I renturned to pick up my car, I was suprised with the quality of the job. Ryan and the Wheel Tech did an amazing job and my wheels look just like stock OEM paint!!! These guys are the best. Suffered some gnarley wheel damage courtesy of a Des Plaines pothole. Was told by several tire places that they couldn’t do anything with it and could only sell me a new after market rim/​wheel, but it wouldn’t match the other 3 factory wheels. Went to the dealer to buy a matching one, but they suggested I check with Wheeltech as a new rim would be beaucoup bucks.
I am glad I did, Wheeltech was able to straighten for a very reasonable price. Turns out the tire was damaged too, unfortunately they don’t sell tires, but they referred me
which shipped to Wheeltech the next day, as part of their normal route. Wheeltech put on that day and didn’t charge me for the rebalancing and I was on my way. Thanks guys!

RECONSIDER HAVING WHEELS REPAIRED HERE
On 4÷19÷14 I brought two of my original equipment Acura TL wheels to have minor cosmetic damage repaired at Wheel Tech-​Rim Repair Center in Highland Park Illinois. One wheel had light scuffing on 12 inches of the exterior rim lip. The second wheel was missing about an inch by .3 of an inch of aluminum on the exterior lip, the rim lip needed to be weld filled. If it wasn’t for these pothole abrasions these wheels looked great.
After two weeks Dave at Wheel Tech-​Rim Repair Center called to tell me the wheel work completed. When I arrived I made a comment the wheels look «darker» than they should be. Ryan and Dave claimed the wheels are pretty close. I drove home and just as I thought, they refinished the wheels into a black gunmetal color. The original wheels are gray gunmetal color. I removed one of the original wheels and set it next to the wheels they refinish took pictures and emailed them in regards to the issue. They wanted to know how to proceed and I told them I would drive back up with one of the wheels they hadn’t worked on. When I arrived they looked at my wheels and said they’re off a few shades. I left them the wheels and waited another 2 weeks. I had to call them to see if they’re done when I called, they said yes they are done, I told them I will be up to pick him up after work. When I arrived and inspected the wheels the wheel spokes no longer matched my original wheel and the color was still darker. Ryan stated he worked his but off on the wheels, they are close. I said you want me to say this is acceptable that my wheels not the same the color and the spokes don’t even match anymore. Ryan didn’t give an solid resolution, I told them I am not leaving the wheels with them again it’s been over a month since they’ve been working on them. Brought them a sample and it’s worse. Email

There are a lot of places that claim to repair wheels, but I can tell you for a fact that they have nothing on Ryan and the guys at Wheel Tech.
When I bought my M3 last summer, one of the expensive Competition Package wheels had curb damage. The dealer agreed to fix it at no charge, but I really got what I paid for — overspray on the tire, mismatched color, no blending, and a horrible finish. It actually looked better with the curb damage!
Frustrated, I combed the web for a wheel repair place. I chose Wheel Tech, and after getting my wheels back, I am glad I did. Ryan took the time to properly fix the previous repair guy’s horrible work and perfectly matched the factory «hypersilver» (which is very tricky). They also discovered the wheel was bent, and he corrected it. Ryan stands behind his work 100% and after chatting with him, it’s clear he knows what he’s doing. This is not a revolving door shop that tries to repairs wheels as fast as possible — it’s a shop of people who know the art of wheel repair.
If my wheels ever get damaged again, God forbid, I will absolutely give Wheel Tech some repeat business.

Thank you to the crew at Wheel Tech. I took my wheel into a tire shop because I had a leak. They informed me that the rim was bent and said they would order me a new rim right away for $ 260. I told them to put down the crack pipe and put my wheel and tire into the trunk of my car. That’s when I drove right to Wheel Tech (even though it’s at least 45 minutes from my house). They told me it would be a few hours and sure enough it was ready as promised. They even put the wheel back on for me and offered to put the spare back into the storage area. Thanks to the wonderfully bad Chicago streets, this is the the fifth or sixth wheel I have had fixed here (two cars).

I took my 19″ Forgestar wheels here after a business trip to MI (worst highways I’ve ever driven). I cracked the inner lip on one rim and curb rashed the heck out of two others. I was very leery that they could be repaired but after sending some photos to Ryan, he believed he could fix them. I brought them in on Tuesday and they were ready for pickup on Saturday. They looked good as new! I was extremely happy with the repair work.

I cracked my 19″ wheel from a pot-​hole from hell. Thought I can get it fixed for cheap, but the guy I brought it to used some kind of cheap glue to fix it. Got it balanced and there were 10+ weights on it and it wobbled like a fat penguin walking across a field of jello. So I couldn’t stand it and brought it into the boys at Wheel-​Tech.
They were extremely helpful. I sent them an email asking if it could be fixed and the fact that the previous guy who tried to work on it put about 1 cm thick of glue on it. They said it was not a problem and that they could just scrape it all off.
I brought it in and they helped me put my spare tire on. The wheel was fixed in about 3 days. They did a great job welding it and it only took 2 weights to balance instead of the 10+ previously. They also helped me put it back on the car. When they put the wheel on, they also noticed that two of my wheels were not sitting flush against the hub (BMW uses lug-​bolts) and I had a hub-​centric ring stuck on there from my winter tires. It was a pain to remove, but they removed it for me even though it was not even the same wheel I had them fix. They also gave me a discount balance on one tire I asked them to do as well.
Price was very reasonable for the great work they did and now my car is riding great again! They were really helpful and friendly. And about a week or two later they even sent me a personal thank you post card, written and signed by Ryan (I think the manager or owner). That just put the icing on the cake and shows they really care.
Another point of credibility is that when I’m in there they were working on a lot of other high-​end wheels such as Porsche, Bentleys, huge 26″ Escalade-​like Chrome wheels. So I’m sure they’re a very trusted shop. I’m surprised there is not more than a couple reviews on here for them!

After reading my initial Unilocal review and giving me a call, they have made an effort to remedy the wheel work issues I had, but I haven’t had the time to take them up on it yet. At the time the work was completed (April, 2009), they didn’t seem to have their act together. Apparently, this might not be the case anymore, and it is obvious they care about their customers and take pride in their work. I look forward to a better experience when it’s time again for the summer wheels to rest for the winter.
