Los Ranchos

The food was okay. Nothing compared to the bayside one. The service was terrible. Go to the bayside one instead of this one.

I’m hoping someone at los ranchos reads this review.
Get with the times los ranchos people nowadays share meals not because they are cheap and can’t afford it but for the simple fact that we are eating healthier and are making better choices.
I choose not to eat a plate that can feed a family of four, instead i rather share it with my wife.
So you can have the $ 4.00 sharing charge and shove it up your ass, because there are so many restaurants around that don’t charge such a stupid fee that we won’t be back.
If i had it my way i would leave 0 stars (no wonder you only have 3)

I gave it 2 stars for the following reasons:
–This place is suppose to be nicaraguan and they turned this place cuban (no offense)
–The waiter was very rude. I asked about a plate I would like to try and he responded with «that plate is expensive, it’s $ 48.» Like are trying to tell me I don’t have enough money?
–The music was way too loud. I couldn’t have a conversation with my family without talking loud.
–The food was good, but I don’t see myself eating here again.

This place is overpriced and service does not match price. The food was eh and the location is blah. First and last time I come here.

Amabilidad pero poca profesionalidad, nos pusieron agua cuando terminamos de comer. Cerveza Corona caliente. Tuve que pedir limon para mi palomilla.

I’m a huge fan, in fact I can claim to have visited every single once of their restaurants regardless of the country. However, this was my first time at this location and while the food was tasty as always, the service started a bit rough. We waited and waited for the initial contact once at the table. After 15 minutes, the hostess realized we were still waiting, so we were able to order drinks and appetizer.
The waiter finally appeared and he was nice, although he seemed to have the entire restaurant event though there were 7 tables with customers. Anyway, once the initial drama was over we proceeded to ordered tostones, fried cheese and shrimp ceviche as appetizers. We also ordered churrasco cuts in jalapeño sauce (not on the menu) and a baby presidente churrasco. The food was phenomenal, the meat was so tender and juicy. Anyway, the beers (Toña) were cold and food was outstanding, however I was very disappointed with the initial service, although they came together at the end.
This is not a new franchise, although a new location but you would think they got the process wired, right? They have been around for a very long time. Anyway, I have to re-​evaluate another visit to this location.

Awesome food, horrible service… took forever to take our order… 30 minutes to get a Tona. At the end we ordered 2 Nacatamales to go… after 30 minutes they told us there’s no more…
…also it would’ve been nice to have a Nica feel, they were playing N’Sync from the 90s and the waitresses werent really familiar with the names of the foods.
I rather go to the mom and pops Nica joints. Cheaper and more authentic.

Considering this place is in Hialeah where many restaurants serve mediocre food I can say this place stands out from others. I have passed up this place on many occasions because it had no curb appeal to me since it resides on Westland Mall’s premises. I guess I was missing out. We had a small sampling since we are consuming lighter fair these days. What we did have, ceviche and tacos was pretty good. The tacos were the exception priced at $ 6 and change for 3; they were a steal. It’s funny because the place outside is not a reflection of what you will find inside. The outdoor area was loud with Latin music and what appeared like karaōke. The inside felt more like casual upscale. Appropriate for conducting business over dinner. Every one was pleasant and hot crispy bread was offered a few time. Will definitely visit again. See photo for a small portion of the menu we saw.

Use to be so much better. Very disappointed! Churrassco had no flavor, maduros were hard, ordered fajitas and the tortillas never came. The only good thing was the fried cheese. Not coming back.

I will never go back. Lets start with the fact that our drinks came after our salads, then my bf ordered a french onion soup. The soup was FREEZING, i’m talking straight out of the fridge cold. I ordered a glass of white wine and I guarantee it had water mixed in it, I had to send it back. The soup never came back because the food was done. The plantains were freezing, we had to wait for the rice to get to the table with our food sitting in front of us. The gallo pinto had some pieces of rice that were so hard I couldn’t bite them. We had about 3 different people help us throughout dinner. There was only one other table in there eating dinner and now I know why. I will never go back.

Good food, had the churrasco with Gallo pinto. However, service was horrible, Maru was our server, we had to request our sides, plates, more water… Server even rolled her eyes when we asked for more water in a clean glass and told us we could not have a take out container. 2 stars because food was good, otherwise I would put no stars.
Also charges $ 4.50 sharing fee, unfair for such high prices.

They have great happy hour specials and bar bites. If taken in the perspective that this place is Nicaraguan you will be disappointed since most of the food is similar to Nicaraguan but not really. We had taco’s and they didn’t have the queso crema (nicaraguan cream cheese) that usually goes in Nicaraguan taco’s. Also the spicy tomato onion sauce had no kick in it at all. In our amazement the bartender nor chef knew what we were talking about when asking about these key ingredients. Moving on the vigorón (yucca pork rinds, and cole salad dish) had just three little pork rinds on it which is a major part of that dish. Again when asking for more the chef said it comes out like that. Don’t get me wrong the food is still good nonetheless for a place aiming to be Nicaraguan it is definitely going another direction. At least for the Hialeah location I visited. Your best bet is coming between 4 — 7 to get half price apps and some nice specials on alcohol. It’s a nice spot for a quick snack but i can’t stress this enough this is not a place to go to if you are expecting authentic Nicaraguan food.

An OK place, but I doubt I will come back.
We (my business partner and I) came here for lunch and ordered a mixed meat and cheese dish. It had delicious carne asada cooked to order (but tiny size), a decent chorizo (super mini size) and a salty fried cheese (decently sized relative the other items but very salty, like feta-​salty). This cost almost $ 13, and we both thought it was a bad value given the size of the protein items.
The order did come with plantain chips and a lot of gallo pinto (rice and beans) that I believe they either give in huge quantities or even as much as a customer desires (I had to stop a waiter after he placed a huge amount of the stuff on my plate). Service was very professional. And the dining room was elegant.
If not for the tiny portions of meat for the price, I would have given a much higher rating. So, both a Chili’s and Fuddruckers in the same mall offer IMHO much better value. And if I wanted to go to an elegant place, I would not choose the location. I mean, who would bring a date to dine in Westland mall? :)

If you’re new to South Florida, this restaurant chain has a long history here in Miami dating back to 1980. This one in Westland Mall opened later, though. Since moving back from Texas I’ve had this restaurant on my radar. I had never been to Los Ranchos. Thing is, any local I have mentioned Los Ranchos to in recent years says the same thing, «yeah, it’s just not the same anymore.»
Other than hearing about them continuously in the past, I had no idea what the food was like before. So, this Unilocal will be based solely on my first experience. Based on my first experience, three stars on Unilocal.I left with the impression of a restaurant that has altered their flavors to satisfy the masses. So much so that even advertised on their menu are listed, their new non-​Nicaraguan Food dishes.
I had their 8 oz Angus Beef which comes accompanied by Gallo Pinto, Plátanos Maduros and Plantain Chips. In addition, you are brought three different sauces on a silver serving «thing.» I know one of them was Chimichurri. The other two, I have no idea what that was. All three sauces were equally delicious.
The steak was good. Not WOW GOOD but, good. For $ 11.99 you just can’t beat that. The Gallo Pinto on the other hand, was just wrong. I’ve had better Gallo Pinto at a neighborhood Fritanga.
I considered having their advertised small Churrasco for, if my memory serves me correctly, $ 22.95. But the longer I waited, the more I pondered, «Hmmm an empty nice restaurant in a busy mall during peak lunch hour?» Yeah, I took the safe cheaper route.
I also had their famed Tres Leches. I still remember people talking about it back in the day. I mean, we had Tres Leches here before 1980 but, the Tres Leches here was so popular people were talking about it. I tell you what though… for Six Dollars, I expected more and better.

This place can be summarized as «mmmmm delicious»
I’m a huge fan of Nicaraguan Food and this place takes it to another level.
The sampler is the best introduction with all the Nica favorites to try.
The traditional churrasco is so tender and juicy. Their homemade chimichurri is the perfect condiment.
I always have mine medium with gallo pinto rice and plantains.
This place will certainly satisfy any palate. Stop by and have yourself a traditional Nicaraguan meal done the right way.

Really enjoyed the lunch, that have specials for lunch for less than $ 10.00. You have the option of adding a salad for $ 1.50:more. I had Carne asada with Gallo pintos, maduros, salad, and mariquitas. My mom had the grilled talapia with veggies, in which she told me was kind of bland. I really enjoyed my lunch and recommend if in the area.

First time at Los Ranchos. We ordered Cerdo Frito as an appetizer and Churrasco Los Ranchos as my entrée. First, we were seated quickly. The waitress came over right away and the food especially the appetizer came out super quick. So A plus on the speed. The bad part was that the Cerdo and the churrasco lacked seasoning. Both were very dry. The portion of the churrasco was large but just lacked the seasoning I love.

I’m not a fan of Nica food, but this place is the exception. Went here with my family and really enjoyed the food.
The food was great! I loved every bite of my steak, but was disappointed at the portion size. I’m used to being really full after eating (I’m Latino after all) but I was ok after my meal. I wasn’t hungry, but I wasn’t full.
What really makes this restaurant lose 2 stars are it’s prices! Way to expensive for it’s location. It’s inside the Westland mall in hialeah with south beach prices.
The service was really good. Everybody was very attentive and nice with no complaints. Also the layout is very elegant looking. I really like the way the place looks. Even the plates have a unique style and shape.

The most expensive meat in Hialeah with Coral Gables prices. The place inside is very nice with its modern chic décor. The bar area is very nice although quite small. Unlike most Los Ranchos they don’t have an annoying band or trio playing the best of Los Panchos. We order, palomilla steak and carne asada, all very good quality meats.
The service… well typical for Hialeah.

There is no place to eat a better churrasco than «Los Ranchos Steakhouse.» Their consistency is always excellent. It is a place to take your family, friends, as well as, business partners.
If you are ready to have the greatest experience regarding Nicaraguan food, or are in a mood to eat a good steak, this will be the place to have it at.

This was my first time going to Los Ranchos in Hialeah and I was impressed! The space looks amazing since the last time I was in that exact space (used to be La Fogata). We were taken care of right away by our waitress who brought us Cuban bread (a bit chewy) and took our drink orders. It was the first time my friend was trying Nicaraguense food and what better way to introduce her than to bring her here right? Well we all ordered the lunch carne asada which was more than enough for us. The meat was cooked perfectly and the plantains were amazing!
I would recommend to go during the lunch time when the food is cheap and the service is quick!
