American carpet & Rug Inc. was established in Virginia on June 6 — 1986

as a family business, and has been owened and managed by the same family for over 25 years.

We started our businees on September 1st 1986 at 412 Elden street in Herndon, VA. 20 170.

After 5 years (when our lease was over) we moved 2 blocks away to our current location at 691 Monre Street Herndon, VA 20 170 on Nov. 1st 1991

Very kind owner who helped our business out immensely. Great showroom with lots to see and display.
Great to see that old-​school customer service is still out there. The owner is very transparent with his dealings, which I always appreciate.
Love the local feel of the showroom! Right across from the historic church in an adorable house. I would buy from here 100 times out of 100 in order to support great local business owners.

came here because i’m moving, have limited money to spend, and just wanted to scope out carpet remnants. the salesman (i think owner, too) was nice and answered all my questions; he wasn’t pushy, either. i plan on buying from here. later when i recounted my positive experience to my mom, she told me that my parents bought from this same guy ~20 years ago. small business, reasonable pricing, good customer service? sold.

Excellent service & pricing!!! Quoted and completed the job in 24 hours because they re-​arranged the schedule to accomodate us. The salesman was professional and courteous — and the crew did a great job. The carpet looks great! They even added upgraded pad and carpet in the high-​traffic area for no charge because they did not have enough carpet on-​hand.

Okay, so I went to the store to inquire about carpet installation. The owner greeted us nicely at first, but after a few questions, he lost his patience and told us we were in the wrong place and walked away. At first he told us that he doesn’t sell cheap polyester, then he tried to show us samples of it and tried to sell us a deal on it. Turns out that his price was double what Carpet One quoted me on a nylon carpet from Mohawk, so I took the deal with Carpet One. After the reviews here, I never expected to be treated like a third class citizen at American Carpet & Rug, but I’m glad it happened at the store because you can imagine what would have happened if there was a disagreement during or after the job.
