Cutest store, walked in because they had a sale rack out but the prices throughout the store where so reasonable and the young ladies that work there are attentive and sweet. Will definitely go back!

We were in this store a few hours earlier; I’ll just cut straight to the punch.

I don’t know if someone had a bad day, and it spread around and everyone caught an attitude. #atmosphere
But imagine feeling under the radar when you’re asking for assistance; BUT THEN UNDER A MICROSCOPE when you go to help yourself.
There’s no happy medium, in fact, there seems to be no happy-​anything here.
Retail is retail.
A job is a job.
A job is not a right, it is a privilege.
So before you go acting like you’re entitled to be somewhere, understand that garbage attitude is easily disposable.
You are replaceable.
It’s Wednesday, and no one was in the store.
Get it together, people.
Managers, instill a sense of pride and urgency in what you do to help the customer; your team is a reflection of the way you express your values.

Best local surf shop in south bay (there are only 2 authentic that remain). Dennis runs an incredible operation with the deepest inventory imaginable. They can handle the needs of the community and excited tourists from across the world. Always a pleasure to bring new customers to Spyder and witness the friendly staff of youngsters hustle to do a great job. Spyder is a staple of the beach cities and Dennis is a legend,

To get the negatives out of the way, I’m not sure if they’re overstaffed or what, but many employees seemed to not have anything to do besides chat to each other. That being said, the service I received when I got their attention was very friendly and incredibly helpful. I’d say recommended.

I want to resist walking into this store but am drawn in every time.
This 5 star review pertains to the girls side only.
There are brands in here I truly adore such as Free People and Billabong.
I won’t pay full price for much of anything unless I love it.
Prices can be high. I looked at a tank top that was $ 56. No way will I pay that for a tank top. But on another note there was a dress in there that was the same price. –A dress. A bought the dress because it made sense.
Sales associates on the girls side are always very helpful.
The guys side– Sales associates clumped together flirting with girls.
My husband got help finding shorts for one minute until the SA lost interest and kinda walked away and left him to fend for himself.
The SA over there have their eyes kind of glazed over. They’re not there to be helpful.
Girl side– Great. Neat, organized, helpful. Many purchases I’ve made there due to SA bringing over clothing they thought I’d like.
Boys side– Need better sales associates. Or to be trained. Maybe if they worked on commission? Or if the owner /​manager watched the cameras more.
Business is surely lost on the guys side.

Think of a shop where it’s sexy beach casual + fun and you have Spyder II.
I’ve been all over the world when it comes to fashion and this place is classic, sexy, beach stuff for reasonable prices. Had I known about this store a long time ago, I would have stopped with my stupid high end obsession with designer pieces when I was younger.
I am a beach goer, a regular, and I love how adventurous I am, so I need to look stellar in my gear. This place is THE best because it matches simplicity, classic pieces with a sense of timelessness edge.
I am not even going to write about what I bought, but it is drop dead sexy and worth it. I am only going to wear these pieces around hot worthy men who I deem worth my time. The stuff I got is so sizzlingly hot that they won’t see the light of day unless I am around the kind of people who I love and can see eternity with.
I pride myself when it comes to good taste (even though I have been criticized) for mine, but I am avant grade when it comes to fashion. The stuff I bought is so pretty and detailed that I do have to wear it on a special occasion only.
This is my FAVORITE store to shop at right now.
I am so done with the high end places I used to frequent in West LA and Orange County.
This is my new place to go! =)
I really won’t shop anywhere else unless I need practical things, but this place pretty much suits my lifestyle.

Very helpful staff in both Menswear and Womenswear… prices seemed really reasonable. especially compared to London prices.
Extra marks for recommending The Manhattan Creamery when we asked for local ice-​cream parlours!

Love this place. Local and friendly people and competitive pricing compared to other surf shops in the area.

Overall, I would like to go «Becker» next time because the associates are more knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Sometimes shopping is a joyful experience.
But I did NOT experience the above nice scenario at Spyder II. I went Spyder II for summer sale on 8÷16÷2014 6:20pm. Was waiting in line at the cashier of Men’s dept. Inside the counter, one associate was helping a customer, and another associate ignored me twice to go folding clothes and chatting with other staff. I didn’t wanna waste my time, so lastly I went to the cashier of Women’s Dept to request paying the stuff I wanna purchase. Some of the associates at Spyder II are NOT helpful. I don’t think I will shop here again.

Surfers, skaters, bro’s, dudes, chicas, even hipsters and sporto’s…everyone gets what they need at Spyder.
Serving up surf style, shorts, shirts, bikinis, boards, sunglasses, and beach schwag since a long time ago, Spyder is the spot to shop in Hermosa Beach.
Located right in the HB Pier Pavilion… parking is street, meter, structure, or lot parking (god luck with that bro). Selection is huge from Hurley, Billabong, O’Neill, Rip Curl, Oakley, Electric Visual, and a gazillion other beach brands. Plenty of super-​friendly employees. To top it all off… really good prices… plenty of sales… and always a pleasant experience.
I think the selection is better up the hill at the Spyder Boards location on PCH, but for the location, you cannot go wrong at the HB Pier shop… there’s plenty of everything.
Surf or Die Johnny, surf or die!

I love shopping here! They are slightly expensive but it’s a surf shop by the beach. What would you expect? They have a great selection of clothes and they are always organized. It always seems like they have a lot of workers working too so that’s always nice. They have a HUGE selection of bikinis and flip-​flops too. They are by a bunch of great food places, clothing stores, other surf shops, and right by the pier so it’s always a nice place to stop by if you’re in the area. Support local business and shop here! It’s much more convenient than going to a mall.

Great store with tons of brands. The staff is adorable and super helpful! If you’re visiting from out of town, be sure to purchase a Spyder tee shirt as a souvenir before you leave. If you’re looking for surfboards or wetsuits, you won’t find them here.

I’m not a big fan of the mall and much prefer local shops near my home to find cute things to wear. I usually find myself at Spyder II on a Friday night looking for a last minute frock or a lazy Saturday afternoon while out on a walk with my dog and my coffee. Every single time I enter the door, the girls welcome me and remind me that I can bring my dog inside. They are very helpful both in and out of the dressing room.
The great thing about Spyder II is the great selection of clothing and shoes. I can always find something great to wear for casual or dressing up. I would say 95% of my clothing comes from Spyder II. Love that place!

Best surf clothing shop in the south bay. Best selection, best sales, and best service. I buy so much crap here that I don’t need, it’s insane. The people who work here, (at least the girls– haven’t dealt with any dudes) are cool and helpful. They even let me bring my dog inside.

Spyder is a great surfer shop right off of Hermosa beach. I love the whole area where Spyder is located. It’s a chill little spot – the restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and shops in this little area all have a very cool summer vibe. Spyder carries all the stuff you’d expect from a surf shop – everything from actual surf boards and wet suits to flip-​flops and tee-​shirts. I’ll definitely come back.

Went here because I heard that a brand I liked on the internet called CX City. Its a very big store, Im not a surfer or have any knowledge toward the sport, but I would assume that a lot of surf enthusiasts would love this place.
The only thing that bothered me about this place was when I walked in asking about CX City, the guy who helped me out ended up being my personal fashion consultant (which I didn’t want) Im an independent shopper and all I asked was where the brand was.
I think working retail for a couple years lets me understand that customers such as myself have a limit, and my limit was passed as this gentlemen attempted to up sale me by saying «you’d look good in this» haha
Nonetheless, its a great store. Lots of cool brands like Hurley, Civil Régime, CX City, Billabong, RVCA etc.

This store has got a large selection of the latest styles of beach wear and paraphernalia from all the latest designers. Prices are moderate to high, but a cool place to pick up those necessary items for the summer to prevent from looking «so last year»! A stop to purchase a few items is a must especially if you live in the beach cities as you can’t very well meander about town looking like an «inlander» slob. Hehe!
The help staff is very laid back, friendly and accomodating. If you don’t know what the latest is in cool surf wear, they could instruct you on how to dress so you look like a local. If you’re too embarassed to admit that you are beach fashion illiterate, just casually observe what they are sporting and try to find that in the store!
Definitely the place to go to if you are looking for trendy beach fashions but can get a bit touristy during the summer months!
